LOL completely forgot I made a profile under than name... coincidentally my deviant art nickname. I mostly go by my "alias" (aka middle name) on internet stuffs now.
The drawings on this profile are mostly from last year, but I'll be (hopefully) uploading some new stuff soon. I'm starting to get brave and experiment with acrylic paints!

I agree about good music being existent, just not popular. People should make music because they want to create, not because they want to BE famous, but unfortunately thats not the result of our entertainment focused society. Music is art, not JUST entertainment, but often you find bands who are good entertainment, but not true artists. Its all a matter of taste, of course. Music means different things to different people, and different people respond to different sounds in different ways. I try not to be too close minded about music. Try listening to some different bands and do your best to let yourself respond to it in an objective way. You might not ever find a band just like metallica but you might find something else that you like!
The big question is do you mind screaming? Bands like As I Lay Dying have a lot of classic metal vibes in their music you just have to handle the vocals. You should check out a band called "Unearth", I think they MIGHT be along the lines of what you're looking for. Hope you find something, music hunting can be so frustrating!
I used to be a regular on Chordie in my early teens (wow seems like a lifetime ago!). I went by the username last_rebel, and received alot of advice/encouragement from the mods and users on this site, even wrote a few songs. I'm 20 years old now, have outgrown my teenage angst and resentment and am much less a rebel of any sort than just a quiet old soul in young person's skin lol. Its mostly soft-spun indie folk for me these days, or something equally pretty/mellow. Anyways, when I look back now, I can't imagine being in the place I am as a player (which is still no Jimi Hendrix, but a sight better than clumsy three chord downstrokes) without this place. Whether it was jerome's lesson stickies, or doc phil's quirky threads, this place really helped me in my early stumbling stages to build confidence and skills. I was thinking about that this morning and figured I'd revisit the old haunt....
I don't know if any of the old ghosts are still hanging around, but I miss you guys and still think about you every once in a while Many thanks for all the help and memories!
