Steelstrings i dont really have a genre of music im very open
i love all genres if i was to pick what era of music it would have to be 60's 70's and 80's

Zurf the support my area had was magnificent you really would'nt of thought anything had happened out here
other than looking what damage has been caused to the creek systems which now look like full blown river systems in some areas.

and thanks ben and dino.

I dont care,i play awsome to myself and love it wink

Hi Steve and welcome to Chordie,

For the time you have been playing that is excellent, the timing, rhythm and chord changes are surprising good for just 12 weeks of learning. Well done.

Roger

P.S. If you use a progamme like the free Audacity you can add your singing to the track after the playing so you do not have to do the two together (just like most professional artistes do).

Thankyou roger really appreciated.I actually had a look at the reciept for my guitar to see exactly how long i have been playing i purchased it on the 20th march so nearly 8 week ive been playing but to be fair i have put the effort in every other day with atleast 90mins of practice.

i am going to have a look at that audacity its just what i could do with wink

I would just like to thank, all the experianced contributers to the forum you have been a big inspiration over the last few week since being member of chordie,i've  done a lot of reading (theory) and applied it to my playing
and have noticed a massive difference when playing.I'm no master of the fret board as i've only been learning about eleven week but i can honestly say i'm making music i recorded my first solo today no singing lol just letting it flow with four chords and some string picking and it felt like something clicked inside the old brain and i was like wow was that really me playing that.

So a big thankyou all for the excellent information on chordie it is appreciated from an old strummer wink

And for those who are just starting to learn guitar please please stick with it don't let it grind you down
and if it does, just do what i do and take a days break then come back refreshed it makes a massive difference,
dont overload yourself with frustration and enjoy it.

Is it normal for you to get bad wrist ache when playing scales
im just going from the 7th fret to the 10th with index finger to pinkie
working from low E threw the strings and then working back threw in opposite direction.
im finding this a good excercise for string finger co'horedination and for streching
but should this really make my wrist ache as bad as it does and if so does the pain
eventually lesson.

Cheers.

Steve.

Wow im glad i found this post as im the same cant barre chords yet but am playing with index finger as my first
so will make a quik change with this before i get to caught up with using these fingers.

Hi guys im a newbie found the site last night and its a very warm welcoming forum .
I've been playing 8 weeks and im loving it,i dont want to put the guitar down
especially now the chord transistions have become much easier and no more sore fingertips
(which nearly lead me to giving up but im so happy i didnt).I can honestly say that it has got to be the most relaxing fun rewarding winding down therapy for me after getting home from work, and stops me being a whining bitch i normally am wink i will be around the site everyday browsing and posting where possible thanks for making this a great site to learn from and such a great bunch of like minded people.
