Nice to meet you! Welcome aboard! It seems we have similiar taste smile I was playing 3 little birds on my tenor just last night. I play your other songs as well (except for "Bubble")

Here's the stairway to heaven tab that I used for low G tenor uke http://home.arcor.de/crazydawg/ukulele/ … heaven.txt   -Pix

Lol, well the song is really "bubbly" by colbie caillat, don't know why I mispelled that:P. And thanks so much for the tabs, I will definitely give them a try.:)

Nice to meet you too!

My last five songs are:

Guitar- (these ones are fingerpickin')
"Handlebars" - Flobots
"We're Going to Be Friends" - Jack Johnson

Ukulele-
"Three Little Birds" - Bob Marley
"Bubble"- Cailat
"Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zeppelin (fingerpickin')

Lol, I thought it would be fun to try to figure out the finger picking for Stairway to Heaven on the ukulele and so far it's going pretty well. But if anyone knows of a uke site that has the tabs (yea right:P), please pass it along. smile

Aww thanks Stran and Ark, I will definitely be sticking around. This site is just so full of really nice people. It's great.:D

Thanks to both of you- I really appreciate it. big_smile

And yea Kenny, it was a great time, I'm so blessed to have such awesome friends. And that guy in the street was a performer in New York City. He did a jump over like 6 people then nearly ran down my friend. It was pretty hilarious tongue.

I'm 19 from New Jersey:), I've only been teaching myself to play the guitar for about a month- still just trying to figure out chords and such. It's hard because I've been playing ukulele for about 7 months now so my fingers are used to not having to stretch. tongue

I think my favorite line is from American Pie:

"I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn't play."

That song is just so moving to me, I love it. smile

I've only been on this site for like a day and I've gotten a bunch of replies on posts I've made.
And they're all from people trying to be friendly and helpful. I would rather hear from a few
genuinely caring people who want to help rather than from 50 people just commenting for the
sake of it you know?:)

Thanks man, ill look that up. smile

It doesn't really have to be a kiddie song per say, we sing everything from bob marley
to queen, just as long as it isn't blatantly about sex and drugs and such, lol.

Thanks again.

I work at a Christain summer camp and I play the guitar and ukulele so I'm just looking for some songs that we can all sing.
It can be Christian or not, as long as it's alright for 6yr olds to sing too, lol. (Although I may go a bit more leniently with stuff
I let the teens sing. The song can be fun and happy or just chill and relaxing, anything you want.

Any reply is appreciated.:)

Really nice man, deep song.

The verse chords remind me of that song "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by greenday.

So I wrote this song randomly one day with some friends, hope you enjoy. Oh and- it's originally meant to be played on the ukulele, don't know how it sounds on guitar...

Here's the link to our 'music video' so you can get an idea of the time and strum and what-not

I used Alligator Boogaloo a lot too when I first started out.
I also would go for songs that have easy chords to play like C, G, D, F, A, etc.

Some of my very first songs that I taught myself were 'I Can See Clearly Now' by Bob Marley, 'Five Years Times' by Noah & the Whale, and lots of Spongebob, Kimya Dawson, and Beatles songs.

Goold Luck!
