Greetings Aleeve,

Thanks so much for your attention to my query. I've worked  in a rare book library in San Marino Ca. for 22 years.  KNOWING how to find the information is the  most important information I've ever learned. (Regardless of what that information might be.)

This site is the best. T. C. Lametoad

Hi,

So I can play along to most chord / lyric pages. I practice hard. I practice diligently. I have small hands and short fingers. I play rythm guitar not soaring leads. (It's great going to "Guitar Center," when I'm the only guy playing toones while everyone else is playing 10 seond lead guitar riffs perfectly lke the real thing. It takes me 10 minutes to warm up to the different guitars cause their so sweet. Then I'm bangin' on it.

I wish I could finess' both lead' and rythm. So please explain the tab diagrams and how to excecute them and come stay in Sierra madre for a weekin the summer and go Surfing with us at huntingtonbeach and San O'nofre and Mlibu ha, ha, ha..

Forgice my ignorance. I went straight for the chord changes.
I just kept trying more sophisticated toones. Help, i'll be your best freind. In sunny Sierra Madre by pasadena Ca.

Hi,
T.C. here.
I pull songs off the Chordie every week. I use them as exercise charts. It helps if you are familiar, in the extreme, with the song of course. It is tough going much off the time. I have mentioned this before, and some of the chords like B/C I don't get.

Today at work I pulled some Sinatra because I borrowed a greatest hit's cd from my wife's car. Talkabout some busy stuff. Thanks to the posters. Good luck T.C.

Ps/ I finally went surfing on Easter Monday. I got pounded but I'm back.

Hi folks,

Question? Whats with a/g or Bb/c? When I use the first chord listed of the "doublet" it always works. If I go for both it seems too busy.
Maybe I'm not fast enough. I'm curious. Love the site. I always experiment with the chord structures offered by everyone. It helps me to continue practicing for longer periods of time.

It's a drag playing "klunk baby klunk oh yeah... " A few hours a day for a week or what ever we can do...real fun practice...committed...like sports, sex, or surfing... we get better before we realize what we are truly accomplishing. I just visited Pasadena Guitars in Ca. (Like the Rosebowl etc.) Its like buying a guitar at your grandpa's house... two or three of every price range
$30,000 Ron woods type 59 Firebird Vintage to $400.00 composite acoustic, to $2000.00 Martins and "lectric top liners; Sound room; "welcome to our shop, please try that Martin if you like!" They also have a couch to play on!  the Best....take care Hang ten T.C.Canterbury

Hey now, hey now, that's what I call community service.

I really am fired up. Thanks for the insight into what your playing.
It has brought back my memories of the 70's when I was into that whole "California" acoustic/folky/blues scene. The product names are still the same. The prices have inflated just like surfboards.
In 1971 my "legendary"main man shaper's  top line custom stick cost $170.00. Now a 10' longboard is $1000.00.
You people are my new best friends.

I hate trying out new guitars becase the strings are always old and stiff. I can still get the general idea from the insrument if I spend enough time playing different models, .

I'll stop by the shop today. No Little League Games to announce.
Thanks again...  T.C. Canterbury

Hi,

My man at Guitar Center in Pasadena Ca. was telling me that
"sound," and, "performance," wise, the Gretch electromatics, were no different from the top of the line beauties.

"Unless you're a real purest, pro, or a somebody with the big cash." He was really cool. I'm want a new guitar. I was going to get a $1,000.00-$12,00.00ish acoustic Martin. and pay for a year.

Now is the Martin inexpensive line outsourced to Mexico or bumfu*&6 also?

What about that $799.00 single cutaway black gretcsh electromatic.
The amp and the ax would be the same price as the Martin inexpensive acoustics. I play for my dogs and someday my grandkids.

Since I have been able to buy new surfboards (surfed 1967)
I have bought custom boards from the best shaper for top dollar.
I did this with guitars back in the 70's. Hey man I'm married with 2 guy's in college. I work at the Huntington Library's Rare Book Library. They don't pay $%#@. Yeah, I'm looking for a break.

I have not payed attention to the guitar world for decades. My wife bought me the guitar I have been playing the last 5 years.
In-expensive fender, but I play 4 hours a day.) It's all about the Love. I appreciate any wisdom you can offer me regarding my
search for a sweet instrument that my wife won't say is destroying
the family budget. I love her when she's angry. God bless. I like country, Neil Young-ish what they used to call Folk rock blah blah.
Otis Retting R/B. Sinatra. I keep learning. Thanks for reading thiis long letter....T.C. Canterbury
