Hey everyone!  I've been lazy the last month or so...had to have a couple of surgeries which resulted in some major complications...but I'm back now and ready for more advice!

I am teaching private lessons to one of my adult step-kids.  She is just like her father and I who both taught Jr. High band, choir, orchestra and such so she doesn't really need to learn to read music and she is learning so much faster than I have literature for.  (Remember, I taught JR. HIGH kids who thought they all needed an amplifier as much or more than their actual guitars...)

Anywho...I would really appreciate some suggestions for beginning classical guitar duets.  I can get one or two from each of the "books" I already have, but it would be so much greater to have a whole book of just duets.  I am beginning to take music from a church hymnal and writing it out for two guitars.  Holy cow, it is so much work! (and my transcriptions are not very legible...)

Help me so I don't have to spend time on this instead of just getting to the playing and enjoyment of playing!!!

thanks-  laurie

I have tried to follow the directions for putting my songbook on my iPod several times.  I guess I was just born without the technology gene (they didn't have that one when I was born  big_smile Can anyone help make it easier for me to understand?  Thanks a million

Thanks to all of you who responded!  I will never give up!!!   It is kinda weird, however, that I am able to play classical stuff and not some of the easier chords.  I should also say that I owe some of my new found dexterity to playing "guitar hero" with my teenagers.  If any of you know of a source that gives simplified versions of barre chords that don't include the barre...  I am trying to find that as well.  by the way...I would love to know more about some of your experiences and successes.  I used to teach jr. high music (band, choir, recorder, guitar,  piano, etc.) and now that I have found that I can play even in limited ways, I feel like Sampson (bible ref.) with a nice new head of long hair!

You are all great!  thanks for the encouragement and all the best to everyone!    Laurie  big_smile

I used to play anything, but had to have 4 inches cut off my ulna and then have it fused. (my palm faces down unless I pull my elbow in hard to my side...)  Now the only way I can play is to hold my guitar like a cello.  I can't do barre chords anymore but I don't want to give up everything I used to play.   Can anyone help?  I think if I can find alternates for the barre chords I may be capable of more...help!  sad
