They're very lanky hands. I'm 6'6 and I weigh 190 pounds...screw genetics. My youngest brother got a Squier for his birthday a few years ago and it felt like a toy in my hands, for example.

Listening to Iron Maiden and Iced Earth got me into guitars and I hope to start learning asap!

Topic: Getting started with guitar and bass for us (4 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Hi, my fiance and I would like to start playing together, with her on a bass and me on a normal guitar, both electric. We don't know what to look for or how to get started, because none of our coworkers or friends are musicians so we're kind of in a vacuum. We're both in our mid 20s and not too interested in the band scene, so we'd mostly just practice and jam together.
She likes hard rock while I like speed/neoclassical metal, but we're open to playing whatever kind of music we meander onto. The biggest restriction so far is that I'm very tall with large hands, so a lot of starter guitars don't feel right at all.
Is there a sticky or running thread about those of us who are -just- getting started playing and can help us? If not, can the community oblige my request here?
