I try to play in a prasie and worship band at church. We have another rythym guitar player who is simply awesome. We play a lot of upbeat songs and he strums so fast that I can't keep up with him (he strums really complex patterns that literally carry the songs through if you know what I mean) If I do a bass strum(bluegrass style strum thingy) or the standard dduudu ...will those two things fit with what he is doing? My inclination is yes as long as my timing is right. Comments? Suggestions?
Thanks

All,
Is it possible to figure out the strumming pattern from looking at the sheet music?
Thanks

Can anyone help me out with the intro song to the TV show "Sons of Anarchy"?
Thanks

Can anyone give me a workable strum pattern for this song? I worked on it forever last night and couldn't get. however, sitting in the office, without my guitar of course, I think a D UDU would work. Thoughts?

So...if I strum this counting 1 2& 3& 4& it should sound like the song?

Like many on here, I struggle with strumming patterns. I seem to use the DDUUD more than anything (like many others here) but...with sooooo many songs using the same chords, they all sound the same. There are exceptions where a song has a unique strumming pattern and it's easily recognizable. But, for those that don't, is it the riff or a riff at the beginning of the song that lets everyone know whats being played
( I warned you this was a basic question) and where is a good place to find simple easy riffs for songs? Thanks!

Can someone give me a strum pattern that would make this song easily recognizable?
Thanks in advance!
