I had the same problem and found option 3 to be the easiest solution. Came easily after a bit of technique adjustment and practice.

You should listen to Frank Turner - he kinda covers all those genres in one go on an acoustic.

Hey upyerkilt.
NFL is the perfect sport to watch while you are ironing. All that stop start means you don't miss anything.
As for the 11pm start - I've tried everything including caffeine overdoses and constant eating but I can't stay awake past the third quarter.

Instruments are meant to be played - not hung on the wall. Well played = well loved in my book.

I used to hope to be a bass mutant, but I haven't dedicated the time to practice, and now that I'm spending all my time playing at guitar (as differentiated from intentional and sincere practice), I probably won't either. So it's probably time for me to pull the bass down off the wall and put in some practice time and learn some more riffs and scales and whatnot.

Can you play the bass solo from My Generation? If I was a bassist that would be my Holy Grail.

Saw Seasick at Reading Festival the last 2 years. He is a fantastic perfomer and Russell you are right - he certainly knows how to work a crowd. I don't know if he tours much in the states but he is well worth the money.

To an uneducated Brit it looks like the Steelers are gonna do it again. Love to see the Cardinals win it though.

I'm pretty much self taught but have found that just playing with someone else accelerates the learning process. Different songs, different techniques and more fun.
Of course it helps if the people you jam with are much bettter than you...

Well, I thought they were the same gauge (Light) but my fingertips tell me otherwise. I'll double check. Thanks.
Have now checked guitar and the new strings appear thicker to the naked eye so I guess it was set up for extra light before. Not sure if it's worth a trip to the guitar shop as I only have a cheap model. Might just be worth saving my money until I can afford a Washburn or something.
After I've bought my strat.

Re: burrs..... (7 replies, posted in Acoustic)
I'm getting similar problems with the 5th and 6th strings since re-stringing my guitar. Been playing for about a year without any buzzing prior to this. I'm guessing this is due to increased tension in the new strings and that I just need to work on my strength and technique.

I'm 37. Been playing about a year and love every minute. Family aren't so keen though. They can't wait for me to buy my electric guitar to go with my headphones.

That said, the bridge pickup has always been a little underwhelming (as has the Tele's neck pickup) so, people have experimented with humbuckers there.
Hi, sorry to hijack the thread but I noticed that Fender have a HSS version of the strat as well as the standard. Is it worth shelling out extra cash for the HSS to get the fatter sound? I'm still saving my pennies and haven't decided yet.
