I should of wrote diamond shape above string on chord. what does it mean. It features on many chords and there variations.

Please can anyone tell me what the diamond shape means above a string on a tab. I realise that the "x" means not to use the string. Many thanks. Im new to this.
By the way if you have short chunky fingers like me, a capo works wonders and has helped my confidence to no end.

Thanks Rus, In a roundabout way you have helped. The machine heads are fine but your answer helped with the logic of tightening the strings. 1E is sorted,just have to sort out 2b but fustratingly close. Maybe sometimes you have to trust your own ear.

Kate Bush's Aeriel has to be the best all round presented artwork on any CD. Shame its not available in LP form. The way the CD's blend in with the background is fantastic. The song book is of sheer beuty with stunning pictures. Music is excellent too.

My guitar is totally in tune (according to my tuner). But I am not happy with the tightness of the 1st and 2nd strings. They seem very loose. Ive messed about trying to get these right and my tuner says they are spot on. Has anybody else come across this problem?
Can You Help ?

I am self teaching and doing really well. Im changing strings but I have the new type of machine heads. My question is how do I change the strings with these. It looks very simple but surely not. I dont want to buggar up my new baby. Please help........ Geoff
