For me initially it was the Beatles, I played some, but just couldn't get it. Late seventies I went to local venue(Savvys in Ft Worth) The noise the band spewed was horrifying, but that guitarist was impressive. By the way the band was Pantera, and we all know what they did. Decades later my then 14 year old son asked if I still had that old guitar (80's strat) in my closet, he wanted to learn to play,that got me going again. I'm still not that good but I enjoy it more than ever.
