paul,i hear what others say,practise,BUT ,stick to one song,refer to WLBAYEs,lesson STRUMMING ON THE STICKY,"FOR WHAT ITS WORTH". DDUUDU is the strum.I bought my guitar 2 yrs ago nearly,along with a multitude of learn guitar in a "day" books joke.what did i learn .NOWT!!! apart from the basic chords,so i put the damn thing away last december and gave up!!!!!!then in feb this year i logged on to chordie and noticed a post by wlbaye on strumming,i got the beast out and for 1 week only i practised that tune he posted on utube.and it Worked!!!!! ican now strum it,not as good but it sounds great.Paul please believe me i was so peed off,but it worked and now i am working on 4 more songs and they are coming together .If you live in the uk pm me i can give you more advise bud

hi johno,go down 17 topics on this page,to help with strumming by wlbaye.have a look at his for what its worth on utube,watch it over and over again.then have a go at the strum pattern used ddu udu.I am the same as you started around 2 years ago learned the major chords,then tried to apply them to songs,i actually put the guitar away,totally fed up,then a couple of weeks ago i noticed the post by wlbaye,watched his video and practised every nite,now the song is coming together,i am also using a couple more of wlbaye,s utube vids featuring other songs,and they are starting to sound right to.I know how you feel,but dont give up try these vids of wlbaye,if they worked for an old plank like me,i am sure you will have success.good luck

Hi Wayne,once i get the hang of blowing in the wind ,i will be wanting your help on dont think twice.IE your picking pattern etc.ps dont put your voice down.i have watched all your 11 utube vids today,i wish i could sing as good as you buddy.

Hiya Wayne,i must admit i have been a bob dylan fan for over 40 yrs,so if you could ,i would like to be able to learn how to strum Blowing in the wind etc.But any easy strum tunes from your repertoire but be gratefully accepted by as a struggling newbie.

Hi to you all,
I am a 59yrs young newbie,got the guitar can play basic chords,trainer858,put up some great simple songs,chords to most are no problem,But and it is a big but,you cant play a song without a strum pattern.for instance:WILD THING by the TROGGS and HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN by the ANIMALS.Strumming Pattern is required.Any of you guys have the patterns i could use?.
