Thanks for the tips-- I managed to get it off with rubbing alcohol. Didn't appear to do anything to the finish, but it was a very cheap guitar.

I have an old acoustic guitar that has some markings in permanent ink on the front. They've been there for a few years. Any ideas of anything I could use to get them off?
