I'm absolutely in love with the new folk coming out of the london area. Noah and the whale, Mumford and sons, Laura Marling, Emmy the great. I was just wondering if you guys had been listening to their stuff. If you haven't you should its great.

Topic: My Sociopath Song (1 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Ok I'm pretty positive the chords I posted for this are not the chords I'm playing they are simply the bass note to what I'm playing.Im playing the chords as follows:
B--757xxx
A--545xxx
G--354xxx
I'm playing the strings individually starting from the Low E down then when I get to the D string I pluck that one twice once with the indicated note and once with an open D. Also I repeat the G shape for two measures as opposed to the one measure for the A and B shape. Hopefully this makes sense I didn't know any other way to post it and I want to hear you alls thoughts on this song. I think the song is repetative but I think it still works. I would just like to hear what you guys think. If my explanation doesn't make sense you can see the chords in the video. Also If anyone knows what these chords are really called I'd love to know.

First off I'd like to thank you guys for putting your hearts and songs out here for me to enjoy and to be able to share my passion with others who do the same. I've spent quite a few hours now playing everyones' songs in my interpretation and then hearing there version afterward its great fun but anyway. This is one of my fingerpickin type songs its the first song I wrote once I thought I had the concept of chord progression down and its about another failed romance except its about the one I didn't want to fail, so here we go.

Ive had this name as my online persona for years I play a lot of video games but i was tired of having all the names I wanted taken so I jammed two words together that didn't belong thought it sounded cool. A few years later someone asked me if i rode harleys really I had no idea a shuvelhead was a bike but I've kept it ever since. and the 420 is because i enjoy a good smoke.

I need to invest in some way to record my songs in a better format but I'm definitely on a budget if you guys could recommend something I could use with my pc that would be great. Ive only played these songs for my friends and family I'm glad to hear other songwriters give me the ok.
Ive been looking up chords on this site for quite some time and was just recently searching google for a site where I could share my songs and hear what other people are doing, little did I know you guys were right here the whole time.
keep strummin
thanks

Re: STRUMMIMG (11 replies, posted in Acoustic)
use a pick it will come in handy
what your doing isnt wrong but it would more likely be used in some sort of classical or maybe country style but it is all doable with a pick and you will get a crisper sound just keep playing with the pick dont put it down and youll have it in a matter of weeks if that
