Well once I figured out the note progression I am finding it fairly easy now to figure out what the chords further up the fret are.
I guess you are right when you say it is fairly advanced to learn the fret board but my argument is if it is fairly simple to do and can be done in a short period of time don't you think it would be an added advantage to your playing and understanding of the guitar to go ahead and learn it?
Just a thought ... any comments from anyone else?
I am from Sri Lanka .... in England at the moment .... but will be heading back home in a few months .... been playing for a few months now. Making good progress
Hi guys,
I don't know if this will help everyone but it sure helped me. This link teaches you how to learn the fretboard and it does it so effectively that I learnt the fret board in 15 minutes. I can now tell any note on the fretboard and am also making good progress of figuring out what the chords are and what they should be on different parts of the fret board without having to look them up. Hope this helps all the beginners and slightly above beginners.
Cheers,
Suren

Hey guys .... I have been progressing pretty well with learning a lot of chords via Chordie (All hail chordie). However, I am still having issues with "B". Is there any easier way to play it or a more effective way to play this chord? Appreciate any help all you guitar guru's.
Hi guys ... I am well ... a beginner of sorts .. although I seem to have gotten better. I too started playing the easy F's and Bm's but what I am doing at the moment is since I can play the easy F's and Bm fairly well, I have begun to attempt the barre chords. Its a bit easier now because I know exactly where my finger placement should be. So now the challenge is barring with the index finger. Try it. It actually works.
Ray is right ... I am slightly better than a beginner but I also had some serious problems strumming. Try a song like "Its your love" first. Thats has very easy chords and strumming is fairly simple.
But by practice you learn to get a feel of how you should strum.
Also another method is strum a chord once following the chords of the song. Then you get a feel for the tune and you learn how to add the additional rythm in between changes.
Hope this helps.
