Well, it depends on the way it sounds les pauls type guitar tend to hummers, but its how you playing ability that determines how good the sound is. Spend 2000 dollars on a guitar, but if you cant play well it self defeating. Look at all brands of guiar try each one out. I found playing it unlplugged away from the teenagers in the music shop I found out quickly if the guitar will mold to me. I have Telecaster, and have a inbanez coming right away. I like the twaging, girlie like pitch of telecaster over the warm hummers of les paul. Remember, its your playing that determines how good you sound, and good strings, brigde, and tuning it correctly will make any guitar sound good if well cared for

Topic: rearrange a song. (1 replies, posted in Electric)
I learned Dazed and Confused song, but what fills can i throw in there without the violin bow, or massive reverb used. Question is ? How Can Irearrange Dazed and Confused song by led zeppelin, but keep the solos, riffs the same, but cut out wacky pyrotechnics, and thrown in something to make the song pratical to play. The reason is equipment limitations?

Re: Which guitar shall I keep??? (23 replies, posted in Electric)
I ditched a gibson for a ibanez some may think im crazy, but I never played gibson much really compared to the mexican made telecaster I played for 7 years. The ibanez the reason I bought ibanez I owned one in the past, and like how easy it is to play compared to gibson. Telecaster on mine got a female sound to it with a little bite to it im keeping her. The gibson had good sustain, and warm sound, but it lacked the grab and bite afffect I desired out my guitars. I traded to lazy on maintence of a inbanez with no tremolo bar, just bought a honda of guitar really.

Re: The best Acoustic? (59 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Love a gibson acoustic I played 10 years ago the tone on it was great, and the clarity, and richness of the sound was great. The only problem with the gibson it was 1800 dollars at the guitar shop at the time. That was best one I played, but I find good set of strings, and decent finish, wood on a ascoustic will make it sound great.

Re: starters guitars versus better guitars (10 replies, posted in Electric)
Starter guitar ascoustic is a good one to start with because it teaches how to use your ears a "little bit more", and if you can play a ascoutic allright then move over to electric guitar is my opinion. I learned most of the basics on ascoutic, but use a electric not pryotechnics things once in a while.

Dead Rock star the vast majority that died before the age of 40 usually was most times from lots of drugs and booze. After a while preforming some just burn out, and take drugs to cope with boredom, depression, aniexty. The groupies probadly get old after a while, and just having to dedicate half the day to make sure the sound quality on stage is good. After the show fans, girls, and other vices were too hard to resist for some of them. I think good roadies, and crew members can make a band last or crash.

Re: Who is your guitar hero? (36 replies, posted in Electric)
I got a guitar because of Eric Clapton just floored hearing white room twelve years ago as a teenager. Over the years I learned playing the guitar that feel is more important than getting songs note for note, and now im trying to write songs because I find learning a song note for note gets old, and loses its magical touch.
Chuck Berry is another one I learned from is the basics to jam on guitar.
I know there no way around not playing something Chucky influence did not touch.
The handsize is a problem with Chuckie tunes, but learning a few Chuck Berry licks paid dividends; as a result, I learned CCR, Yardbirds, Rolling Stone, Led Zepplin songs and licks from learning basic Chuck Berry songs.

Re: Are Big Names Worth The Money? (6 replies, posted in Electric)
Big names guitars. My opinion on big name guitars is listen to the sound and sustain playing the guitar while its unplugged away from the hacks in the guitar shop to find the right guitar. I think all guitars sound the same once the tuning, brigde, neck are adjusted correctly.
The mass produced guitars in 2007 are better than fenders made in America in the 1970s. I sold my les paul speical and bought ibanez with no tremolo bar because I wanted something that easier to fix if problems went arwy.
Paying 2000 dollars for a guitar doesnt matter if you dont know how to play the guitar in the first place. I look at the guitar neck quality, and the playbility versus price. I perfer something that plays nice, and price is irrelavent 50 dollar guitars at garabage sales can do better job at times than the 3000 les paul standard. Probadly gonna need to play dozen or so guitars to find the right one, and the right feel for it.

Re: Tuning Problems (23 replies, posted in Electric)
Remeber Hendrix, Val Halen had problems with tremolo bars in the past.
First, did you look at guitar neck to make sure it isnt warped, or back of the guitar to see maybe if the springs for the tremolo bar are not worn. The nut maybe needing of replacement, but if the repaire less than 100 dollars fixed it. I have Mexican telecaster had no problems with that for the last 7 years,
I have played stratocasters, and the temebolo bars sucked on the squires to American made unless you buy a good floyd rose locking unit for it. Still, a locking unit does not grauntee no problems, and tuning with locking units is harder.
My advice look for the simple adjustments, and replace, the nut, springs on the stratocaster, and readjust the bridge, neck to a little bit.
