It's not really a favorite of most Dead fans, but I like to play Touch of Grey...

Yep, he was... he does acoustic versions of their songs which are much better than the originals if you ask me

It was happening on any song that had tab in it...  but here's an example:

I noticed a while ago that if you go to the artist page for Dave Matthews BAND, like this:

http://www.chordie.com/song.php/songart … index.html

there's a lot of junk mixed in with the actual DMB songs!

Ken -- I was just using the word "tabs" as a generic to represent both tabs and chords.  I use them both and Chordie, really, is good for them both.

I've never used the Add Songs feature...  but from what I understand it's not instantaneous... you may have to wait several weeks before the song appears in the Chordie index.  And even then, you'll have to track down your submitted version from sometimes a dozen or more other versions of the same song.

I can't really say I have the patience to copy and paste the URL for the hundreds of tabs on hyperrust, either...

Thus you can see why I requested what I did!  smile

I personally use Chordie's songbook feature to build a list of songs that I will practice each month.  This works great because I can see everything I want to work on in one place.  However, often times Chordie won't have a tab I need so I'm forced to get it from another site.  A great example of this is Neil Young tabs...  the tabs at hyperrust.org are all tested and correct so I prefer to use that site for Neil tabs...  And that site obviously isn't indexed by Chordie.

What I would LOVE from Chordie would be the ability to add URLs to my songbook, so I can link to external tabs.  That way I have all my practice songs in one place, whether they are on Chordie or not.

I thought I'd throw that out there...  whether it happens or not, I'll still be a Chordie user...  but it would make my life a lot easier!

I use medium gauge D'addario EXP strings on my Fender acoustic.  I think in most cases you are fine with either medium or light gauge.

OK, I have a good one from this side of the pond--there are two towns in centeral Pensylvania, "Paradise", and down the road is a town called "Intercourse".  An old friend of mine in college had a T-Shirt that said "You have to go through Intercourse to get to Paradise"....which, logisticly, was perfectly true.
Sorry if I'm stepping over the line....just talking geography here.

Another town in that area is called "Bird-in-Hand".  No word of a lie...

Nancy Wilson is one of my all time favs

Was waiting for Nancy to show up in this thread.  Incredible player.  Just catch her latest Led Zep covers - really good stuff.

Yeah I was about to add her in, so surprised she wasn't mentioned first!

A lot of Beatles songs have distinctive riffs so that they are recognizable without the vocals.  My favorite to play is I'll Be Back.

A Fender DG-20S Acoustic was my first guitar.  I still have it, and it still plays great.  I think it's a fine guitar.

I like my Roland Cube 30x, it was like $250

Yeah he is pretty amazing...  kinda wish I knew who he was or where he was from so I could go see him play in person!

I have the 30x... I love it.  The bad news is, EVERY setting sounds good so you will spend just as much time playing with the different effects as you will actually playing your guitar through it smile

Even though Led Zep 4 is the most popular, I think their other albums don't get the respect they deserve.  So I'll go with:

1.  Physical Graffiti
2.  Led Zeppelin 1
3.  Led Zeppelin 2

and then...
4.  Led Zeppelin 4

I often play my F chord as Fmaj7, that takes the barre out of the equation.  It's almost like playing a C chord.

you can play flake with open chords, it sounds somewhat similar...  you can't really get his sound unless you play barre chords though

It might just be me but I think Bm and F are the easiest barre chords to play...  so I would stick to playing songs with those to practice your barres.  Once you feel comfortable then start playing other chords around the neck...
