I believe you can still buy pre-wired setups with the Gilmore "Pink Floyd" sound. I used one once and was BLOWN AWAY! Best tone ever. The other guys are correct, tho, you will get what you pay for. Get the good stuff, even if it takes a little longer. You will be happier.:) Here it is!

Try the digitech EX-7. It has to be the most powerful single effect I have seen! It has 2 wahs, string synth, whammy, univibe, leslie, and jet flanger. It even has all the vintage distortion stomp boxes to go with them. Really cool unit. I have a effect board with a huge amount of pedals, but this one is indispensable!:)

[SIZE=4]Scales are usually learned early in your musical training as a means of understanding theory. When you have mastered a few scales, you will be able to play leads and understand where and why you are going next. Does that make sense?
