ACOUSTIC AMP FEEDBACK ... ?
I just bought my first acoustic amp ... Yorkville AM150; I'm playing it with my Breedlove 12 string E/A guitar. If I give it any kinda volume at all I get feedback like crazy. I've tried more bass and less bass more mids and less mids, tried a longer guitar cord so I am across the frigging room ... doesn't seem to help.
I also have a Line spider II amp that I bought with my electric, and had the same problem. This is why I got another AMP.
At the Music store they said the acoustic amp is a better choice for solving this problem; also that the 12 string will feedback much more easy than a 6 string A/E
Any ideas on how I can resolve this? Thanks in advance!
Stan
Wish You Were Here.
I know just about everyone with an acoustic plays this song, but I am a long time Pink Floyd fan, and it was an achievement for me. Saw Roger Waters concert last fall, and what a show ...and yes: I truly enjoyed WYWH.
I am slowly picking up on the guitar, not spending enough time to get really good at it, but those who hear me play say I am getting more confident and a better player each time I pick it up.
The song that is my goal now is Patience -- GnR. easy to strum along and singto , but am working at those little fills and riffs.
Thanks for the comments on this issue. Helps explain things a little ... Makes sense that the acoustic will be projecting a lot more sound fromt he cavity ... and likely the 12 strings even more so, with twice as many strings to vibrate.
I will perhaps head over to my music outlet in the next few weeks and ask them also ...
Strangely enough, I have a digitech 100 amp modeler that I can hook up to a set of computer speakers .. on some channels/models I get the feedback problem and others not. Clean channels seem to be less sensitive to the feedback issue.
Also, I have been surfing craigslist looking for a small acoustic amp ...
thanks again, all!

Hi All!
I recently got a 12 string electric-acoustic guitar (BReedlove) and plugged it into my Spider II amp. But at ANY kind of Volume at all I get feedback as soon as I take my hand off the strings.
Moving either in front of or 15 feet away from the amp does not help.
Do I need a special "ACOUSTIC" amp for this guitar??
BTW - the guitar sounds great without plugged in, but I did want to annoy the neighbors just a little.
