I just brought an Adam Black S- 7 solid Cedar top for £130 which is about $250.
I'm so impressed it's ready to play action is good, finsih looks amazing and it's so easy compared to some of the others I've owned or have.
It also sounds great for all the old greats who played with Martin's etc.

I would n't be without one again.

Happy playing.

I got a Riff Grip and I can take it with me on the train and office and he helps keep my pinky strong and the rest of the fingers flexible even when I can't get any practice in. It aint no substitute but it helps.

Hi All,
I was looking at getting a knock around Dreadnought and wonderd if any one had brought one. At under £150 that don't seem bad value.
They recently got a good review in Acoustic Mag for a Jumbo but I already have a J200 so want a Dreadnought for a bit of Country/Rock strum.

Cheers

For me that has to be A** on Mandolin wind.
It's way down there on the 12th and I can only get it on a cutaway.
Why? Probably it sounds good & like the original!

I know get a mandolin if I like the sound so much. See that Macca had one on Jule's last Friday. What a musician part of the barcode of today's rock.

I've been playing an Alzarez accoustic I brought in from the states and it was fine but I wanted a bigger sound so I tried them all and most I couldn't afford.
For £260 on the internet I got an Epiphone EJ 200 Nat
had it set up by my local guy with Matin SP's and it's the 'Maple Dream' now. Sounds great easy, easy action and Grover's and even 2 Gold finish strap buttons.
WE can't always afford the very best but there are lots of guitars out there that will give a lot of enjoyment for a fraction of the cost!

Enjoy whatever you buy!

Has anyone brought one of the Steve Fairclough acoustic models. I had a quick strum of the Dreadnought River model recently but wondered if it really does perform when set up and playing. Steve's claim is that there is a serious upgrade in quality not reflected in the price! This one was about £200 alyhogh they do rise to £400+ which gets you thinking about Taylor,Martin or a hand built Walden.

Cheers and great forum.

Just stick with it. I started about 5 years ago had lessons at night school for 3 years and was always behind with the time and got very frustrated.

But I loved the music and I felt inspired by those who could play well.

Get the best guitar you can afford. seek out the shops who want to sit you down and put the right shape and size for you.

Play every night even for 10 mins. Read the music & listen on your player or i pod.

You will get better and then think about playing with others or being a band and doing it!!

Enjoy it or forgetit!!
