i tend to agree...but as a fiddler as well fiddlers are cooler...but upright jazz bassists rock socks!!!!!

korg ca-30...its what i use and it picks up things from upright basses to violins, some of the hardest things to pick up...but its a great tuner for any guitar...and i would also invest in a clip that clips from it to ur guitar because it uses direct vibration pickup and you can tune in the noisiest of situations

personaly the biggest tip i could give you is dont force it if you force it you'll generally look back and say WOW that stunk...but when it comes just write...keep a comp notebook handy

that also depends on your strings...like somone said earlier i play a lot of hendrix and vaughn and use heavy gauge strings and wit five springs mine is still of the body id definately go for shims or install a hard tail where the trim once was
