im a big fan of grunge and alt. rock. i started out finger picking on an old beat up acoustic. i think that classical music has a few good advantages. like in moonlight sonota, you have to do some pretty weird chords that are near impossible for beginners

sorry for the useless info.

my inspiration for playing is u mr. fretty. if you didnt have that strat when i first met you then id probly be a fat pile of crap. thanx dude. believe it or not u actually changed my life

i have a brother and me and him are trying to learn how to play together. its not working too good. i try to learn songs from my favorite bands.

(i have no creativity when trying to make up something.)

my brother , on the other hand, has no problem with making simple riffs blend together flawlessly. he likes to make up his own stuff. i cant get him to learn a song with me. how can i learn to play along with his style?

any help would be appreciated.

when i switched i tried to beat on the electric like i would my acoustic. that was a bad idea.(i didnt know how to use a pick at the time.) in about 5 minutes i broke my G and high E strings. ive learned that the best thing to do is treat the electric like a woman. be VERY GENTLE. and practice sweep picking.

I had the same problem when I first started playing guitar.(it was mostly due to that fact that i got my first guitar out of a dumpster). but i found that the buzzing was my fingernails knocking against the other strings. or it might be that the strings are too low to the fretboard. I dunno. my advice would be to check your guitar over and if theres not a problem with it, just practice till your fingers bleed.

theres no good substitute to good practice.

I learned how to play by myself. im sure that it is harder but i just wanted to know everybody elses veiws on this.

i dont know anything about how other guitars sound. ive never looked into it. i just recently started playing an electric. i have a friend who can make his strat scream. i wanted to know why it was impossible for me to do anything like him. the difference between me and him is that i started playing an acoustic, while he started on an electric. the real difference is that both types of guitar require two totally different techniques. all you have to do to love the sound of an electric is practice.
