Five Years, David Bowie
I think between the two, freebird should have won easily....Especially the live version: 15 minutes of joy
Anyone heard of Sandy Denny? excellent singer/songwriter, played guitar really well too.

Normal, I call my acoustic Etta after the great blues singer
Etta James. What's yours called??..Badeye.
Glad it's not only me!
I named my guitars after the music that influenced me most at the time; I was 12 when i got my first electric guitar and absolutely loved T.Rex and DireStraits so it's called Marck.....I got an acoustic this summer named Rory, after the great blues rock guitarist rory gallagher.
See, I'm interested now: anyone else name their instrument, and if so what and why?
Is it normal to have a name for your guitar or is it just me....?
My favourite is Planet Rock
No messing about, just good solid rock.
Hi Rhiannon,
Rory Gallagher! I was going to his gigs While you were still polishing up "Gods magic moon beams". Your Plant is doing well despite the awful weather! I have it well sheltered Petal.Old Doll.
Damn it, I always said i was born 30 years too late! I missed all the greats and music of today just doesnt compare....bitter at such a young age!
17 years old and a 70's reject
Wow, i guess a topic like this was always going to get a lot of responses but im quite surprised that in 8 pages only 1 person has mentioned dire straits (and im not talking about overplayed commercial stuff like money for nothing, shudder)...man, mark knopfler's defineatly in my top 3 guitarists check out the first 3 DS albums.
Also, has anyone mentioned RORY GALLAGHER yet? no one played the blues like rory, RIP.
I heard that a company selling hemorrhoid cream wanted to use johnny cash's (appropriately titled) Ring of fire in a commercial but weren't allowed to lol
Would that be 'Lola' by The Kinks you're thinking of?
Chicks might get offended by that one, as the song is actually about a transvestite who calls himself lola....
