Hey Jeff, I really like this song! The chorus is particularly strong, I like to pick the chords Dm, Dm6, and F, but that's just me. How was your Christmas?

Yeah, I might fool around with the progression and lyrics a little bit. I sometimes repeat the last line too. I like to leave "but when we're together" as strictly Am. I slow down the song for that line only and it makes it stand out a bit more I think, but I can definitely see the advantages of playing it your way. It's all about music and interpretation baby! I've got a friend who I believe produces. We haven't talked in a while, so maybe it's time I gave him a ring.
Thanks for all the great feedback!

Thanks for your help ark and Jeff. I don't really have equipment or a really good singing voice to record, but maybe at some point it will happen. Basically, it's 4/4 time except for the chorus which has two measures of 4/4. Strumming pattern is D,D,U,D,U,D. I like to give it a couple of extra downstrokes on the last G at the end of each verse - it makes it a kind of catchy and more upbeat love song.
Thanks again,

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the positive feedback. I saw the sticky after I posted this song, so I'll have to look it over later on tonight. When I re-write the song in the proper format, does this version of the song go away?

Ok, first shot at songwriting. Here goes nothing:
Chordpro error: This is not a valid artistname. You will have to specify an artistname in the form {st: Artistname} in the beginning of the code.

I'd love to hear some feedback, both positive and negative.

I could never limit it to just one or even five. Here goes:
1.Like a Rolling Stone... greatest song ever written!
2.Just Like a Woman
3.All Along the Watchtower... perhaps done even better by Jimi.
4.It's All Over Now Baby Blue
5.Don't Think Twice It's Alright
6.Time They Are a-Changin
7.Lay Lady Lay
8.Positively 4th Street
9.Subterrian Homesick Blues
10.Mr. Tamberine Man

Funkytown... Oh Lord, why don't I just kill myself and have it over with?
