So, I went to artists tab, selected Eagles, and went to a song to view, noticed my songbooks at the add to songbook selection.  I can select and open my songbooks from here, where I add songs to my songbook.  I think somebody else may have mentioned this as well.

Thanks, I will take you up on the offer.  The problem is my computer at home, and it worked for on my office computer.

OK, success with a different computer.  I will look into the differences.  Could it be a firewall?

I have read the forum advice and this doesn't work.  Clicking on the My Songbook blue tab shows only a page that says My Songbook and no pull down selection or My Songbook(0) in the pull down.  I have five songbooks on chordae so I worked on these last night after entering through the link mekidsmom posted, www.chordie.com/songbook.php I believe.  Last night, after installing or updating java, after clearing my cookies and deleting my browsing history, this allowed me access.  Tonight, this is not working.  I keep getting the log in screen in My Songbook which then takes me to Forum, confirm.  I think there is a bigger problem than running the updated java and we shouldn't have to be deleting cookies.

I did the java update, but did not work.  I found the www/chordie.com/songbook.php link last night but cannot find it tonight nor will I be redirected to my songbook when typing it in as it did last night.  Chordie member since 2006.  Great site and I recommend it to other players.  Prior to the new web look, I was able to edit songs as well.   The forum is good, but I only recently began accessing it.  I thought I had this thing figured out.

Inspiration since the early days. Hated the separation or vacation but the 70's Eagles are the soul of my times.

I agree with Zurf.  Learn some scales, like pentatonic, Am, stuff like that.  The internet can add some spice check out youtube, Marty Schwartz, he is enthusiastic.  Music theory will really get you out of the doldrums.
Been playing 30 years and music theory is what opens your eyes and peels back the mystique.

Bert Casey instructional books provide strum patterns.  With a companion CD, you can play along and develop a feel for the strums.  The feel is going to help with your strum patterns, since it is OK to play anyway that feels and sounds good.  Remember to keep the tempo that you play in, and you will develop the strum pattern. I assume you play upstrokes as well as downstrokes.
