Re: beginner songs (8 replies, posted in Acoustic)
if you know G,C and D.. you already know hundreds of songs. This pattern is what the music theory teachers call a 1,4,5 pattern which is the foundation of rock and roll!

Re: Gm/F Chord (10 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Who the hell dreams up these chords? I would ask the Bass player to kindly play a higher register F over my Gm before I stressed myself to much. If I cant grab it with my thumb or stretch without discomfort--I will find a way to simplify; after all, it's been my experience that the only one who knows that I am playing a Gm rather than a Gm/F...is me. Of course, there are exceptions.

Re: Aching Elbow (3 replies, posted in Acoustic)
I thought it was just me with the sore elbow mate! At 46, I have rekindled my music passion in the form of an acoustic duo playing mostly 12 string guitar. Since starting to really practice in earnest,"tennis elbow" like symptoms have presented themselves. I keep the discomfort in check with something called Woodlock Oil. Only available here in Cleveland at the Asian Market;this medicated oil seems kind of hard to come by, but definately worth the effort. It is much better than any other camphor/menthol(whatever) analgesic balm or oil that I have ever used. It has some type of transdermal analgesic that works wonders for me. I wish I knew what type of biomechanical warmup or stretching us "mature" players should be doing before a 4 hour practice session as this tends to require an application of Woodlock oil on the lower back, knees, hands <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_mad.gif" border=0 alt="Mad"> ...and the band played on!
Yes..It does suck getting older, but the dividends are much more gratefully received!
Best,
Jeff

Topic: Font Size,Print question (2 replies, posted in About Chordie)
Hi everyone!
I am using Firefox and XP to browse Chordie and have run into a problem with printing that I cant figure out.Actually a couple problems.
A. I tried to increase text size from the "view" function in Firefox toolbar. This has no effect on the tiny font that actually prints when I open a tune in my songbook.
B. I read another thread that suggests cut and paste to word, then edit my brains out! Tried that but I lost the sweet chordie format--it changed to that format with the chords inside brackets imbedded in the middle of a word. Try this with "Crazy on You" by Heart.. man, looking at this will put you in seizures!
At the end of the day; I would like to be able to print with the format that I see on me screen when I open a tune out of my songbook, increase the font size so that "Us" burned out, used up old rockers can see it on 2 or 3 pages on a music stand from 6 feet away. Yes! It does suck getting old, but I need to rock on.
Thanx in advance to anyone that can help!!!!
