heres a tip for you to help transpose:

write out ALL the notes(A to G including #s and bs)in order

(put the sharps and flats grouped eg: A#/Bb)

around a circle of paper or card.

next write them all out again on a bigger circle in the same places so that each note is under itself when you put the small on top of the big eg:

                   A

   G#/Ab           A      A#/Bb

   G#/Ab                  A#/Bb     B

                                    B

so then all you need to do is make the original key the outside ring, and the new key the inside ring, match the old with the new and hey presto, you've got the new notes under the original (also works with chords to some extent).

hope this helps.

i would say my favourite guitar to look at would be an Angus Young model SG, in cherry red of course, but i don't really have a faourite playing guitar.

Hi

just like to say that even though i dont read sheet music, i do have a basic understanding of the theory behind it like timing and note lengths and such, i do hope to get better because i cant play by ear and i dont want to rely on Tab too much like some guitarists i know.  Anyway, what im saying is, don't stress over what your teacher says, i don't have a teacher and it hasn't done me any harm.

hey,

i currently use an Ibanez grx70, strat shape

cheapo guitar but pickups are soo powerful, they were picking up the radio the other day

i've also got a hohner acoustic and an encore strat

i used to have an epiphone les paul special II, but had to trade it in for the ibanez, couldn't play it cos it was too wide a neck

epiphones, just like squires, are just as good as the gibson models, only with cheaper materials, but you can get round this by getting better pickups and good quality gibson strings.

also i think paying 1 grand for an epiphone is a bit extreme, maybe shop around for a bit and find one about 300 or under, even some gibsons go about that if you look hard enough

I have noticed very recently that tabs and chords have been added that are from the Ultimate Guitar website.  I do not agree with this because quite frankly, nine times out of ten the files from that site are either

a)badly formatted

b)wrong

or

c)just repeats of the same files that have already been posted.

Just thought that i would let all my fellow musicians out there realise this because in my opinion, Ultimate Guitar is not a good site, so why can't we just go back to having the files not from that website, where at least you had a chance of getting the correct chords/tabs.
