Thanks for your kind words and for fixing the link. Glad you like it.

Deep Down

Deep down in my soul,
There’s a long ole stretch of windin' roads,
Being confused and usin' the booze, just for fun...
Up to my brain, through my nose,
Kill the pain; it’s where my money goes...
I just can’t keep on, livin on the run...

(Chorus)
If the rain comes a fallin, you’ll see me around,
My heart and soul forever in a lost and found...
At the corner of depression, and feelin’ down
Deep down   Deep Down

Down where the river bends,
Her love washed away, never seen again,
In a hurry to hell, lord I hope it calms down soon..
Ran away all my friends, hopes and dreams fell by the wayside in the end,
I hope I hear a train rollin’ by these parts real soon..

Repeat (chorus)

Hi guys;

Please have a listen to this new song and let me know what you think.

The lyrics were written by a friend of mine Brandon Atwell of Glasgow Kentucky and sum up his feelings about his former life in Glasgow KY and his decision to join the US Army. Brandon is currently on active service in Afghanistan.

Brandon and his buddy Steve play a lot of gigs on the Rebel Country scene in the Southern USA, when he's not in Afghanistan, anyway.

Thanks very much for your kind comments, they are really appreciated.
I hope to get a recording made of this and three or four other songs, at least one of which will be an original.

Thanks again.

This is something I put together after reading some stuff on the Web about adoption.
It led me to think about the plight of the mother of the child put up for adoption, of which I was one
There is an awful lot said about the children looking for their natural parents but not much from the perspective of the mother.

[C]Five weeks old that's all I know,

[Dm]Except I'll never see him grow,

[G]Into a toddler, or schoolboy small,

[F]Will he be dark, will he be tall?

[C]In my heart and soul it is not goodbye,

[F]Because I'II be with [G]him till the [C]day I die.

Because today is the day, he is gone from me,

As an adoption form I did agree,

To never see, or even hear,

From baby again, they made it clear.

[C]In my heart and soul it is not goodbye,

[F]Because I'll be with [G]him till the [C]day I die.

'You must have a photo,' sister said,

As she swept towards my silent bed.

Then wrenching him from my forlorn arms,

A guardian angel his spirit embalms.

[C]In my heart and soul it is not goodbye,

[F]Because I'll be with [G]him till the [C]day I die.

I try to utter a last goodbye,

The only sound is a voiceless cry.

Now looking shyly at his little feet,

His new mother, he goes to meet.

[C]In my heart and soul it is not goodbye,

[F]Because I'll be with [G]him till the [C]day I die.

[C]In my heart and soul it is not goodbye,

[F]Because I'll be with [G]him till the [C]day I die.
