I have been using one about a week now and so far so good. Seems I can't find a brand that lasts very long.

Amy most of the time when in a group I move a little away and tune up . They are sensitive when others are pickin.

Thanks for the tip Wayne!

Must say, it makes guitar tuning actually fun it's so darn cute and colorful!  smile My husband has been using it to practice learning the notes on the fretbord.  Glad to hear some of you have one too and like it as well!  Apparently they make a few different kinds.  There's one that's a few bucks more which you can choose to have it take vibration readings or mic readings as well as plug a guitar into it.

Now that the men around here are starting to play scales, I should probably make an attempt to learn a few notes on the fretboard... thank you!  This might actually be a little fun for me.  I've been fighting it long enough!

So, the hubster and I were out guitar shopping (yes, HE got a new one for us to play with but that will be a different post!) and we came across a really NEAT little tuner made by Snark.  The display is BRILLIANT which is pretty awesome, it clips right onto the guitar - also awesome, and works by vibration which is kinda awesome.  I do think the vibration makes for a much better reading, however my guitar vibrates when he's playing his at the same time and I'll get a read out even if I'm not plucking any strings so I'm not positive how perfect it is for using in a crowded location BUT... it's gotta be better than nothing when using an unplugged acoustic!  Pretty neat!  BONUS... we paid less than Snark's suggested $29... I think we only paid $21 for it!  smile

WOW... I think you guys are all pretty darn awesome.  I assume you posted here more for a little self promotion than to help others with a tutorial and I gotta say, blew me away.  Nicely done, and the Chords on screen are nice too.  big_smile

Actually she's got quite a few, apparently she went from bartender to super star.  Her voice is a little extra twangy for my taste, but it's real and that's the part I like about it!  smile

I took a quick look gooling the info and couldn't find any tabs or chords, it seems like if you were playing it on acoustic there'd be a lot of palm muting going on.  Perhaps another member will pop in here and offer up some help if the can figure it out for you (I'm no good at that myself yet!  smile)

Welcome to the forums, please post only once for your request.  Multiple posts in the same section and multiple sections can be viewed as spamming the forum.

A quick internet search finds the tabs available at aussie.totaltabs.com although it seems you'd have to make a free account to view the tabs.  I'm not familiar with the site myself.  Perhaps another member will chime in here with some help in a bit.

Amy you just made my day!! smile  smile  smile  this video took over 6 hours to edit and the original AVI movie format was over 2.5 gigs  till I rendered it to WMV thanks for taking a look and your kind words smile

Glad I made your day!  smile  I can understand the time involved a little bit.  I make DVD's for the family every year (well, honestly I've got about 2 years that I need to work on right now) of all the pictures and short video clips of the kids I take all year long.  I try to make the music fit the pictures, edit like a mad woman to keep it interesting and not "just another boring photo album" type thing.  It generally takes me a few weeks and several hours at each sitting.  I keep thinking I'd like to make my next youtube video something kinda cool instead of just me sitting there strumming.  LOL!  I FINALLY got a new computer so I'm excited about what I can do NOW with more ram and upgraded software that's included!  I really like what you've done!  I'm curious about just ONE thing... do you video with a plain white background to make it easier to get all those background effects in there so clean???  Again, very COOL cool  and I'll even second Wayne's HOT!  hee hee

Awesome Russell!  I really like the song, and it sure looks like a lot of fun you're having with that video software!  You are cool, don't ever let anyone tell ya different!  smile

Happy NGD!  Beautiful, and I've been watching and waiting with anticipation.  I played some $1500 Martin in Guitar Center yesterday and came home... played my Epi and put it down after 5 minutes, that Martin ruined it for me for a bit although I imagine I'll be ok later on today.  LOL!  CONGRATS!!

Thanks all! MKM, we haven't actually done a shoot yet - those were just pics that my wife took with a cheapo Canon so I had to take what I could get. smile Eventually we'll get to doing proper photos. I'm not a big fan of the fish-eyed header image, either.

Thanks again y'all!

smile  No prob... I know how that goes, get it up there and then fine tune the details that take a little longer later on.  Seriously, the site looks great!  I'm impressed with your skills on the computer as well as w/ the band!

Russell, what you did with my song... before and after the final cut is a LOT to appreciate.  I really do!  I'm not crazy about having idols of any sort, so when someone does something specifically for me WITH their talents, well that's a person I call a favorite!

I know the VS stands for the coloring of your guitar (vintage sunburst... beautiful).  I have a 150 ... welcome to the "Epi-Club" ... these may have laminate tops (epi describes it as "select spruce"), but darn if they don't sound great anyway (yet from my reading, some people get a bad apple).  I had an older fella that could play like you wouldn't believe with a solid top fender in hand telling me how great my guitar was, his cost at least 4 times as much as mine and he hated his guitar.

Very nice job!  The site is VERY informative which I like a LOT.  Often bands just don't have all that info in one place.  Reading about the band name was probably the highlight of my visit (as a chick, it's the sappy things that get me of course!).  I LOVE the picture at the top!  In trying to find something to suggest improving on...  if anything I would say maybe see if you can get someone to use a really good camera and get a better panoramic shot for you so it doesn't look stretched... but I do like it as is too because it gives a bit of that "we're having too much fun and the music is movement, you just gotta come see us live" feel to it!  smile

I'd love to visit Sin City and get a tat from the best!  My husband actually is a tattoo artist as his "second job"... although I'd say it's more his "true love".  His shop is just down the road from our home.  I've got a few, all from him (I'm a sucker for free! He does do a good job!) and itching for another just haven't made my picky mind up yet!  I've lilies over my heart in memory of our stillborn daughter and an abstract guitar on my right shoulder.  When you get bored... here's a link to a thread here about tattoos from when I got my guitar wink  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=14865

Beautiful Wakey!  Did you get the darker or lighter stain?  That Spalted Maple is just gorgeous!  Every time I go to the guitar shop I drool over the zebra maple acoustic just because it's so darn purty, but it never sounds as good as it looks.   HAPPY NGD!  May you enjoy the next few weeks in the house with her!  smile

Thanks guys!  Glad you could enjoy it!  It's one my Dad always played on his guitar hence dedicating it to him.  He let me know too that he enjoyed it.  He's got a lot of "story" songs that he does.  I've got the winter blues and desperately need out in the sun... this brought us a little!  smile

Well... the kids and I were having a ball today with Steph (my now 6 yr old) at the helm of the recorder, but we actually got one down that was pretty fun and we've been laughing our butts off since we watched it and wanted to share!  Enjoy, we clearly did!
