WELL i Love this Petal,

But i think you have the makings of 2 songs here?

Id work a song around "Sittin on the front Porch". Hullin Peas?

I used to hull peas with my Pops, {Grand Dad} He lived untill he was 97 years.
Always slept with a soft hat on.. Brought a pint of water to bed every night,
ate oats every morning with honey, and smoked a fancy pipe all his life.
I loved the smell of him. His plug tobacco used to swirl up through his Big white moustache, ah he was lovely, but he used give out cos i ate to many peas as i hulled. Sure i never took a blind bit of notice. Thats when id wink at him, he would just smile.

Thanks for that memory last rebel. "Put my Pops in that song when you write
it please."

Hi last Rebel,
Although we are a small Island and our music is Traditional.
We were and are still heavely influenced with  American C /W.
Also the folk scene here was very much based on American Singers.
I  also had Albums of Diana Ross, Drifters, Four tops, Tammy Wynette, Foundations, Dione Warwick.
Dolly, Linda Ronstadt. Hank, Croce, Young Gosh so many to numerous to mention.
I also sang a song way back " Now That The Buffalo's Gone" Buffy ST Marie!
I think she was an Indian Lady. I often did wonder what happened to her.
People always asked me about that song, after i sung it. Back then i had the voice to do so. I also loved " The first time ever i saw your Face" Cannot remember who sang that one at the time.
Sure God love, your to young to remember most of these
but yes! we knew lots of your great artist.

There a bit more serious UyK,
But fantastic musicians.. There always more light hearted when playing with others. They would have started out with Ceoltas,as very traditional Irish
music
Also getting on like myself, But See Paddy Moroney, from the chiefs?
He tells the best stories about music and life. A lovely unassumeing Man, so
so  gifted.

Thank you all for your kind words.

Southpaw41l!
I have just spent the last hour reading your link. FANTASTIC" I learned something i often thought about to do with moths and light.

Attraction to light

Time exposure at floodlight showing moth flight pathsMoths frequently appear to circle artificial lights. One hypothesis advanced to explain this behavior is that moths use a technique of celestial navigation called transverse orientation. By maintaining a constant angular relationship to a bright celestial light, such as the Moon, they can fly in a straight line. Celestial objects are so far away, that even after travelling great distances, the change in angle between the moth and the light source is negligible; further, the moon will always be in the upper part of the visual field or on the horizon. Human light sources have not existed for long enough to affect the evolution of moth navigation systems. When a moth encounters a much closer artificial light and uses it for navigation, the angle changes noticeably after only a short distance, in addition to often being below the horizon. The moth instinctively attempts to correct by turning toward the light, causing airborne moths to come plummeting downwards, and - at close range - which results in a spiral flight path that gets closer and closer to the light source. [1]

I love those 2 words "Celestial Navigation" I will be even more attracted now
as i understand more.

Daddy cool,
I wish i could say im always so kind! When im fishing the midges sometimes
drive me nuts. Believe me a "Guppy Spray" would be in order! " without the flame of course! tehe.
Isnt this site the best! Wonderful gems every day in my post!

I Love you all for your own "Celestial Navigation" and thank God for you to..

Your Irish Ma is so proud of you. "Very well Done"

Now get your feet down off my couch please!  Lol.

Old Doll.

This song came about while in Croatia last week. Where i was staying is
up a mountain. One night late i sat at the pool on my own which has low
underlighting.   But the best lights were the stars.  i felt i could touch them.
All kinds of insects were flying about. This particular Moth which was quite big, delighted me for quite some time. Then the inevitable happened. My heart
hammered as i tried to take her/him out with the pool net. But i was to late.

[G]full of cosmic moves

[C] Unknown [D]danger down [G] below.

[C] Soft [D] landing failed on [G] water.

[C] Wings [D] fluttered and [G] flailed

[C]Your courage to [D] survive

Lovely Jets,
you make it look all so easy. A bit like the James guy?
Im convinced you 2 have a machine that turns these great songs out.

Old Doll

Ah My Darlin Docphil,
This post is sad! Your fame came in a different form? Your famous on Chordie,
and Famous for Inventing the word "Chordians". I cannot and would not deny you your dreams.
I lived my dreams most of my life. Some years ago my Beautiful dream Balloon
burst so loudly i was left reeling for years. I lost sight of everything, I suffered
the most awful anxiety/panic attacks that kept me house bound for some time.
The more i resisted the worse it got. More balloons burst, one after the other.
Then when i wanted to, but could not die! I finally released and let go of all i thought my life should be.  Slowly and surely another chapter replaced the old one.
Every day i take as it comes. Ive learned to  love the smallest things. To be happy is always my goal now.
If i could i would make your dreams come true for you! Maybe, just maybe
they would not be what you wanted after all?
I always think of the young blonde Lady from Abba! She had her dream,
and now lives on a Island as a recluse? What happened to her dreams?
who knows?
Know your loved Doc, the feeling is so so good.
Barróga agus Póga to you.

Hi James,
I know a lot about womens hormones. I also know a lot about fishing bait
on the end of my Fishing rods.
Human bait? Is like the murky water i some times fish. Hidden with Agendas? I severed a very special relationship, when
one of my groups Husbands asked me to go to a hotel with him. Was I flattered ? No! Did i want to understand his hormones? NO!. All his cell texts
of apologies, meant absolutely nothing to me. He had shown his true colours.
He made me feel like cheap bait.. I like people who know where there at.
May be some brave man on Chordie would like to explain how stunning his male hormones become with age? lol.lol  Come on now James, start the thread.
I dare you! Or better still write the song about same!
After all that i look forward to your recording as always  You walking bag of male testerone! lol.

Good song Though.

Thanks for the lyrics on that one. FG.  Good insight into how alcohol affects
young men. Some of the music in that song reminded me of "The Kinks Song"

"You really got Me."  All Good though!   Good luck.
