There are, similar to "condoms" very thin rubber fingers, and you HAVE TO OPEN those burn blisters, desinfect them, because once open: danger for infection. The normal treatment is, don't open it because as long as it remains closed, you avoid infections. Of course this is the exception, so once open, try to protect them, there are even sprays you can use as a band-aid, because they close the wound, and you avoid contact with germs. You need also to find a kind of band-aid, but still allowing you to feel. I hope your guitarstrinhs are not thick.

Re: how and when do you decide to change guitar strings (4 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Hi st800, we are neighbours I see, I live near Brussels, my sister lives in Berlin.
I liked to know a little bit more about you, like age, where you live, and of course what kind of music you are in. Including: what brand of guitar you use? and about strings, what brand is your favourite brand. I own approximately 25 guitars, 2 FENDERS (1 telecaster California Beach 1952 reissue, you don't find them anymore, and with such a simplicity, such a sound) 1 1964 original stratocaster, but I am more a PRS freak, and my acoustics: Gibsons and Martins.
Do you play often, and is it reading your opinion, recommended to change every month? meaning do you hear the difference.
Other question concerning accessories: do you have a device like BOSS BR 600, to record your own music or do you use other material, I really want some info because I play almost 30 years, and the time is there to lift me up to tyhe next level, tired of playing alone, or with a friend, by "trying to record" my music (from ballads: most, to more heavy rock) and with the compact flash card, I like to put my music on my PC. But what I need 300% is a program you can use to correct "false" notes in singing and guitar, cut and paste, without starting to record 500 times the same song: can you give me some advise?

Topic: what "(un)believable name do ypu give to your group? (0 replies, posted in Bands and artists)
This is far the most idiotic topic there is.
You start a band and you propose 3 names, that ARE CONSIDERED TO NAME YOUR BAND.
MY LIST:
- GUITAR DOC and THE SWINGING NURSEBAND..
- THE AMAZING PHILIPS ELECTRONIC BAND
- ZEP LET ME IN.
I love to see the "fruits" of your brains.
Use names you would really use.
If you have already a group, put the name of your group, and if you are not the one who decides, or if you tried some names, the same.
There is 1 thing I don't know: if you use a variation on an existing band, like FLINK POYD, is it LEGALLY.
So legally names baptising your group.
A nice name would also be The Birdyards.
I trie or I suggest 3 names, and 2 as variation on already existing names.

If I were you, having the same knowledge and mastering at least a bunch of chords, I WOULDN'T hesitate. If you have friends who play as well: GO FOR IT.
I play about 30 years, I am not a liar when I tell you that what I am and can play isn't that bad, but when I had the occasion to play along with others, or just with a friend, you play at least 50% better than when you play alone. So go for it and follow the rhythm section.

Topic: CONCERNING RECORDING MUSIC (5 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
My topic was quit long, but I need just to know if, having a device like a BOSS BR 600, 8 tracks, 300 rhythm patterns, bass & drum loops, & a lot of COSM, you can record your own music.
So I am completely new about recording, putting the compact flash card in your PC, and what I recorded, is what I hear.
ARE THERE DECENT PROGRAMS TO:
1)- visualise the stuff you recorded (it exists, saw it in a professional studio in Canada), I think you see sound waves.
2)- I did sing: can I multiplie my "singing", and if false periods, 2-3 seconds, can they be CORRECTED?
3)- Same with guitar, you play a B chord, but the strumming was not 100% to my satisfaction: can it be corrected too?
ALL TOGETHER: I need advices concerning, software, I am not a professional, to manipulate and correct what I see and hear on PC, like can I multiplie my guitar, or starting with 1 or 2 voices, create a kind of "choir"?
I think this is a lot more clear than the other topic.THANKS for helping me.

Topic: correcting and recording music (0 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Having a device like BOSS BR 600, 8 tracks, a quit powerful stereo microphone, enough loops COSM, rhythm patterns= you are 100% ready to sing and play a song you have composed.
The song is recorded on a CF card, and finally happy as a child, you are able to see and hear your artistic effort.
So far so good. I sing lalala low, the same lala a little bit higher, and finally again higher.
SO YOUR FIRST SONG IS ON YOUR PC, YOU CAN HEAR YOUR RESULT.
Conclusion: you are absolutely not satisfied, because you want the song to be perfect, as it is in your head.
QUESTION: having the song on your PC, what is the most perfect program to take away pieces where your voice is false, there is also a delay between your guitar and your singing. You also discover that at least on a 3 minute song, 1 minute that you are singing completely out of tune.
I know, that there are programs for PC (windows) where you have the possibility to duplicate your voice, resulting in a little choir, ion the very same program you are able to see the different soundwaves, and I saw it 5 years ago, you HAVE to manipulate and correct some things, like a guitar chord, sounding to high, or a false note, same with your "singing skill?". Are there chordians who have the right software to create the "perfect song", by cutting the ugly pieces out of that song, and paste them after correcting. There are programs like protools, and probably a lot more.
Since I am absolutely not a professional, is it possible to have some names of software programs who allows you to "manipulate your song", by cutting, changing the bad pieces, to put your voice 1 or 2 semitones higher, removing AND if possible replacing, JUST WORKING OR USING that software program, sitting in front of your PC. It is also able to make you sing like a woman, or a soprano.
Please I know a few names, cubase, protools, but I need more a very decent and not to complicated program, to correct, take away your mistakes, and change them, still sitting in front of your PC, into decent and matching pieces.

BUT, still I am convinced, at least here, that there is a limit. More, in 1984 I bought an apartment, and in the contract was really good "stipulated" that it was ours for 99 years. I am sure the periods have to be different, and it is always like that, the more $$$$, the more lawsuits.
But try to find the group Taurus + number spirit (can be spirit with taurus), look google, and just write spirit + taurus, and if you find and catch the song, listen just to the intro: I was really surprised.

Yes, dear Nadine2, it seems that "satanism" is considered as a kind of religion. How many wars are we able to count, all about religion. Since mankind exists, the "adoration" for higher and mysterious things started. Imagine, 1.000.000 years ago (to give a number), you are somewhere outside, knowing nothing and suddenly thunder, lighting: I think our poor ancesters had to be petrified.
In the middleages we had the WITCH fenomenon, and indeed, there were, mostly what we can call, strange and "disformed people", mostly women, not able to find the right man, going into the wood, settling down, and using the nature as cure for everything.
You can even end with a line from a song: for every season there is a turn...

Topic: how and when do you decide to change guitar strings (4 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
Is it true, and justified to change strings, when you start to notice that your guitar, played everyday during 15 minutes, starts to "detune" when the strings are older, OR is this dependent from the structure of the tuning knobs, like cluson.
I still have difficulties to replace chords, and this after 30 years of playing.
Are there devices to help putting a string and winding it.
REASONS TO CHANGE CHORDS???
- the aspect of the chord: more rusty, more dirty?
- does a used chord affects the sound?
- are there chordians, changing strings after a certain, fixed time, like after okayed the strings for 100 hour?

I love your little picture: the lone state, TEXAS. Been there, driving by car and following the Mexican Golf up to Houston. So I will probably knock at your door on a nice sunny day, because my favourite countries are SOUTH AFRICA ( you can drop me in Cape Town where you want, I am out of that city with the speed of light, driving straight to my destination: no GPS, no asking how to drive. The USA has a lot less secrets, I've been there 5 times, and I avoided the Highways.
Bringing me to US bands: the best acts I saw were in NASHVILLE: at noon, 2 musicians, he 85 years old, she 82 years, but Jesus what a performance, what a skilled couple. After 20:00, I went back, and there was a group playing, far better than most of groups I know, 1 electric guitar, one electro-acoustic, a contrabasss, a drum, and what a performance.
I was so happy (and completely drunk, without spending more than 5$, because my ex-girlfriend was so popular, she couldn't even speal English, except of yes and no, and everyone wanted to dance with her, I couldn't because of my condition, and they all paid Bourbon Coke for her, putting the glass where I was sitting. The owner, a Vietnam veteran, lost his arm there, paid me at least 4 Bourbon Cokes, telling me that the first person who would touch her, would be throwed out of the bar. I remember me that, because I didn't find a motel in the centre, I had to drive 8 miles to the motel. I think it was my lucky day, because I saw 4-5 police cars, hidden of course.
We Europeans, have an image of the USA like: I've been there 3 times: NEW YORK, MIAMI, LOS ANGELES (+Vegas). THIS IS NOT AMERICA, but crossing with a mustang convertible and avoiding Highways, the difference is day and night.
BUT to return to the topic: the bands I saw performing!!, we don't have that kind of culture.
Nashville, Memphis, and of course New Orleans, a SATURDAY.
I have the impression that, being there in 1992, a lot of jazz bars, that this phenomenon is over and replaced by only a few real super jazz bands, but more "allround" bands, sometimes performing in a fantastic "visual" way. Like 2 guitarists, playing together on 1 guitar, and more rock, Hendrix, Stones...

In fact a stupid message.
Most of us play guitar, so you practise a lot, and your play level is more than average.
IN WHAT GROUP DO YOU WANT TO PLAY, BIG GROUPS if you should have the opportunity?
My list:
- WITH NEIL YOUNG.
- I also would like to play guitar with JOHN DENVER
- LED ZEPPELIN (accepting the fact that Jimmy Page would push you in a corner)
- THE BEE GEES.
- ROLLING STONES isn't bad either.
Talking about the Rolling Stones, did you know that when MICK TAYLOR left the band, they (MICK, WATTS) wanted to engage RORY GALLAGHER, he was I think still the front man of TASTE, later on he went SOLO, giving us albums like milestones: best one Live In Europe.
But he did an audition a few times, auditions where KEITH was never present, so they finally took (hired), for some years the Rod Stewart look a like (just see his haircut) Ron WOOD.
Rory Gallagher was at that time one of the most talented guitarists, and rumour sais that KEITH was afraid that Rory would take together with JAGGER, the front man role.

When I look at your NICK, it says already all I need.
A super ZEP fan?!?
I think I have almost everything concerning Led Zeppelin, all the official albums, if you look and you see their "active years" they had albums/time, a quit great PRODUCTION.
IN NAPSTER TIME, you could find a lot of songs, both official and not official. Look what happens now, musicians spend sometimes a week in studio for 1 or 2 songs.
I am probably old school, but my point will not change, you don't need 1 week for 1 song. Add the end of a studio recording day, the , still now, best musicians: a few takes and there is your song. There are so many devices today that we are not longer able to see a tree in a forest.
Even worse, at the end they choose often a song from the first 5 takes.
I"m born in December 1955, already an old fart, but still active and open for every so called "musicstream" but I don't like some words they use, especially R&B, if they have a song.
Do you agree with this R&B terminology for people like Beyoncee Knowles, and a lot more.
R&B stands for me for RHYTHM & BLUES, not for groups or singers, using there voice with a lot of VIBRATO, going high back to low and high again with a tremolo voice.
This is music I don't like, and the name they use for this music is completely out of order.
May I ask your age?, also the groups you love? My tadte was sometimes strange, because nice tunes are really nice to me. So my favourites were (and still are), using MY ADORATION and the must have album, before you listened the album only "my" bands:
- Led Zeppelin
- Deep Purple
- BEE GEES, don't laugh.
- Creedence Clearwater Revival
- and, talking end sixties begin seventies, the CHIN & CHAPMAN hit factory: some songs of The Sweet, Joe Dolan. I was not a real WHO fan, or a KINKS fan. The same happened with the Beatles and the Stones: the fashion was: must be a fan of one of them: I was more Beatle minded, but if you see the STONES songs: they wrote damned good songs. BUT they ended with, a fantastic album VOODOO LOUNGE. And as far as it concerns: I loved and my savings went to groups, only for some songs.
But thanks for explaining "DIG". (If I read that you are from OHIO, I always think about Neil Young)

Well Nadine, that's something I don't know. I was told 60-70 years, and if the artist had children, they received the royalties. I still don't know, my beloved South African, if there is a difference between the countries, it is hard to believe that the law concerning this subject is different. And even if you start playing a very popular tune, a NON REGISTERED tune, no problem.
Do you know the song MACARENA?, a smash hit, STOLEN from a street musician somewhere in SOUTH AMERICA. In fact, I don't know the cost, you write a song, you had to depose it WRITTEN in NOTES, ON A MUSIC SHEET, but I think chords are allright now.

Re: Beginner to acoustic guitar (13 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Hi lexibabe, how old are you. It is not a silly question, but it's in direct relation of your question.
I think even if you decide to follow course, you can learn to play chords.
Did you decide what "style" you want to play? Like playing, picking strings: finger picking. Or you want to play a song you know, an easy song and sing while playing. As Johncross told you so well, don't worry about your fingertips, it will pass. Personnaly I think it can be a pretty good idea to follow course, or at least to buy a very good DVD for absolute beginners, where they explain, how to tune the guitar, and the chords you need to use. A lot of us didn't follow course, speaking of 20 years ago, you had almost to go to a music school and learn to read written music, and even worse, they want you to play like them: mostly classical.
There are 2 major ways to learn: following lessons and with all the new technology, buying a simple book with the most important chords. I had a complete serie, with easy songs to play.
Whatever you choose: if you don't know the melody, it will be more difficult. But here some tips.
- look on chordie for artists you know, or songs you know.
- there are more than enough DVD's and books on the market. Start practising TUNING your guitar, followed by trying to play a chord, once you can play that chord flawless, take another chord.
- If you have CD's with music, it is a challenge to try to play along.
- DVD, DVD and DVD and look and listen good. DON'T PUT YOUR LIMITS TOO HIGH.
- If you have friends who play already, don't be shy to ask advise.
- DON'T WORRY, if you really want to play, you will play. BUT again, better play 20 minutes than 2 hours.
I hope this helps too.

Re: destroying your guitar or not? (6 replies, posted in Acoustic)
Petermiss, I am not rich too, but what is being rich. Those who claim that money doesn't make you happy are wrong. It does make you happy, just because you don't have to check every € or $ before spending it, BUT it is not, because you have money that you will be happy. The more you have, the more you spend, and worse, the more girlfriends you have, the more you spend.
I earned a lot, I don't lie about this, but I also worked 70-80 hours a week, and was always the first to jump on the right train. But, I was really lucky, because due to circumstances I was able to obtain a very pretty collection, selling one will give me more than selling "obligations", so I enjoy my guitars twice: I play, and I am, better was able to pick the right stuff, and not putting them away like a museum. The biggest problem is, there are so many pearls in guitar world, and I realise that the biggest mistake was my fixation on famous brands. I can't work any longer due to an accident, and I need to be more careful. What I miss are the things I mentioned, pre amps, who don't affect or change my guitar structure. 2 years ago, the market was still different, and yes, if I am walking in my toy shop like a little kid, it is, and will be always like that: DON'T OPEN YOUR WALLET. I just need, (what is need?) 3 things:
- a pre amp for acoustic guitars.
- a very high quality recording device, like ZOOM H4
- a device that allows me playing alone, with all the sounds I need. The BOSS MR MICRO, is a very good item I think. Plug it in, you have 300 rhythm patterns, follow those, combine it with a device like the ZOOM, connect it with your PC, sing (even real false), and the programs we have now, using our PC, can create 100 (my) voice into a choir, and I will be busy for hours, days and weeks.
To start talking again about money, it's a lot about making choices, and for sure in my condition now. You want that item, but it's 500$ more expensive? I don't drink, and if, I drink 5 beers in stead of 10, smoking: 5 cigarettes in stead of 10, I don't need expensive hotels, but I need comfort. A few years ago, no problem to go to high qualified and expensive restaurants, all these things, and a lot more did change. I also am in a position, I am divorced, but I don't have to pay, I have 1 daughter, almost 20, and NO MONEY ON THIS F*** PLANET will bring me back my health. BUT the most important thing is: I lived for 3, women, sex, cars, dream holidays. I've got it all and I admit today that in fact nothing is necessary (ok, eating, excluded). I had a few passions: like I said, women, going to eat (in restaurants, not for a big steak, you can make this at home), bitten by the music microbe, and loving to see movies. Funny: when I knew I couldn't work no more, I baught 1 thing: a very big 127cm plasma screen, and I considered that as a gift for my retirement. The older I get, the more I enjoy things, little things. I was obsessed by my job, I wrote 2 books, I was a very "die hard workaholic", neglecting all the REAL beautiful and important things, like watvching my daughter growing up. What's gone is gone, I had to start it all over, seeing the importance of real friends (if you have 2 real friends, you are blessed), and like already said, I enjoy the things I have, like family, kid, mams, brothers and sisters. And indeed, it would be a disaster for me if I was a fanatic sport lover, I prefer writing, making "cyber"friends (I am sure we'll meet each other one day), playing and composing music, not hiding myself longer behind the wall of work. I just wanted to tell, how bad you are physically, how depressed you are, there is still so many things. Don't loose HOPE, there will be sunshine after rain. I am able to tell for the first time in my life: I FEEL HAPPY.
SORRY, FOR THE ANSWER, I didn't mean to, but I am glad to talk about it, and if there is even only 1 person who recognise him/herself in this post, I am happy. My email address can be used, I always helped people (even by giving them (sometimes a lot) of money), and I love to discuss problems.

Re: Black and Blue Fingers (26 replies, posted in Acoustic)
I suggest always when someone starts playing the guitar, to think about a few things.
The water theory was written very often and it is 100% correct.
There are some "condom like" rubbers, you can put over your fingers, but it's only a little delay of execution.
Didn't you start to fast and to long playing the guitar? What kind of strings do you use?
Using thick strings will cause more pain, and of course what is the kind of music you play.
Do not, or never start playing the hero, I have seen fingers, in a really bad shape: bleeding, infections.
The best way, but in your case, playing a lot, it might be too late, so, this is a tip everyone can use. Take your guitar and start playing, continue to play even when you start feeling your fingertips, BUT DON'T CROSS THE BORDER, THE PAIN LIMIT BORDER. If you play only 2 days the guitar, after 5 minutes you will start to feel something, try to play for 1 more minut. Don't forget that tips I give to you can be different for others: depending on the skin structure.
Play every day, and while doing this you will notice that, starting to play 10 minutes, you will be able to play 2 hours a month later, because the finger tip skin will be a lot harder and stronger.
The best way is adding time everyday you play but NEVER CROSS THE PAIN LIMIT.
There are products in the drugstore to feed your skin, and you can use powder on the fingers to avoid the influence of transpiration (= water).
Don't expect if you are playing for 1 month, even if you are a super talented guy, that you will not suffer while performing. TIME, TIME and TIME. There are creams in drug stores to make your skin strongrer.
The string question as other chordians describe is a difficult one. I use always light and exceptional medium light, without destroying a single guitar string. When do you have to change a string? I don't know, but playing a lot, you will notice after a while, depending from person to person, that the colour changes, more rusty, and when your guitar need to be tuned more and more, check the strings. Best strings: no idea, but Martin and Gibson do have good strings, they can't sell high quality guitars with bad strings. Concerning the nano coated Elixir strings, they look fantastic, but they will give the same result concerning fingers. Even Nylon strings, will hurt too, maybe a few minutes later, but they will.
I hope I could help you.

A few months ago, I posted a similar topic. I really hope to create a list with famous songs, originally performed by another, and changed into a so called own composition, not knowing (on purpose or not) already performed by others.
I would even be more glad to hear about songs, which never made it to court
- MY SWEET LORD: George Harrisson, and you really have to look, or hear it in the most of those
cases. SHE's SO FINE: The Chiffons.
- INTRO: STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN: Led Zeppelin = Spirit Taurus
- HELLO, I LOVE YOU : the Doors, see THE KINKS All day and all night.
BEFORE continuing, I wanted to know how many years you have to wait before the author rights are expired.
I read that now, in the Netherlands, it is 60 or 70 years, and more than 1 group starts playing, or composing a song, starting from a song composed in 1937 or 1947, at least in that period, to make a so called brand new song.
Using classical composers is very common: see RAIN and TEARS by APHRODITE'S CHILD, if this name doesn't ring a little bell: 2/3 of the group: DEMIS ROUSSOS (very pretty sexy boy back then, no I am not G., and PAPATHANASSIOU VANGELIS aka VANGELIS, still one of the biggest and better composers and a virtuoso on Synthesiser.
- BACH: PROCOL HARUM, I have a lot of CD's, and on one live album, the PROCOL singer sais loud and clear: "hereby we thank our major composer J.S. BACH"
This are some items I found
- OASIS: WONDERWALL / GREEN DAY: BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS
- RAY PARKER JR: GHOSTBUSTERS/ HUEY LEWIS: I WANT A NEW DRUG
- CAT STEVENS: FATHER AND SON /FLAMING LIPS: FLIGHT TEST
- JET: ARE YOU GONNA BE MY GIRL? / IGGY POP: LUST FOR LIFE
- SUICIDE: SATURDAY NIGHT / ELTON JOHN: SONG FOR GUY.
I hope to get a lot more songs, plagiarism or not. BUT also, about the LYRICS.
THANKS

Topic: BUILDING YOUR OWN "ELECTRIC" GUITAR (13 replies, posted in Electric)
There are now a lot of members, and daily visitors. Yesterday, I was talking with 1 of my 2 best friends, and he plays bass in a tribute band, like a lot do, "the shadows", a few gigs a year, and except for the shadows, some CCR.
He used to have a Fender Precision Bass, but a mutual acquittance makes, or fabricates his own guitars.
My friend is playing now, on a 4 string bass made by that "luthier".
So, I dream since years of making a guitar, it will be physically almost impossible, but I really love to.
MORE: he can make a 100% copy, of a PRS dragon, or a 10.000$ guitar, and you pay less than half the price, his job is amongst others learning students to build a guitar.
ARE THERE "CHORDIANS" who play an home made guitar, followed by some questions:
- If you have a guitar, build for YOU, is the sound better? I refuse to talk about value, collector value, but having that guitar, and comparing it MONTHS after you own YOUR guitar (because of the still present happiness, owning a "foryoumadeguitar") compared with a similar you had before, let's say, a FENDER STRAT, a GIBSON LES PAUL, A PRS. Today the fashion is, when you enter a small workshop, of a luthier, the PRS shape, and the Gibson shape. We are probably all aware that just making guitars will jill the luthier financially.
- What will be your dream guitar, the shape: GIBSON, FENDER, PRS?
- What kind of wood can be used.
STUPID: can you make an alectric guitar using wood from an oak tree (NOT FOR ACOUSTIC GUITARS)? Probably you have to sit down to play that instrument, but what about the PHYSICS? the sound produced by touching the strings, going over your pick ups to your amp. BETTER: the wood you cannot use..
- also, you have wood fibers, squeezed together, resulting in a nice piece of wood.
- For the body of YOUR handmade E-guitar, what about Maple, Christmas tree wood, 100% is used in this hypothetical subject, so a kind of PRS, just using: oak, mahagony, spruce (most used for acoustic tops, but hers entirely used for electric, as all the woods I mention) 100% walnut body, 100% cedar body, 100% wood from a cherry tree, or apple tree.
Light wood will of course sound better, but I am talking about non usual used wood.(I also just read an article about Patrick Eggle Guitars).
- Poplar, Peach tree, in fact all kinds of fruit trees.
- another point of discussion is for instance: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN the Rosewood, fom Brazil, India, Madagascar. I was told that in so called "blind" studies, nobody could hear the difference between Brazilian Rosewood and Indian Rosewood.
I wanted to hear some more information, concerning 20-30 different kinds of trees.
PICK UPS
- there are a lot of different brands, for me one of the best is Lindy Fralin, beautiful, more than loud enough, and very good quality and output.
NECK, I would use exactly the same wood as the body.
So again a long email, containing stuff to discuss, and I'll end with where you can learn to build your own guitar (do I hear IKEA?), starting as a "virgin" what do I need.
I read in a guitar magazine (that's for you upyerkilt) that I think in Scotland, you have tis opportunity. It's like a B&B, you eat there, you sleep there, you are able to admire Scotland, and the participants are very limited (not more than 5, for the "personal approach"), they have all the material you need, like a carpenter, so it's a kind of work-holiday, you choose the model, the wood, what you expect and what you want to build.)
I was so lucky that there are places indeed: holiday combined with your passion, not cheap, and maybe you have the honour to have created the worst guitar on the planet, but at least you did it.
WHO CAN HELP ME HERE, places, material.
BOOT: do you organise workshops to fabricate your own guitar?
Greetings to all of you

Re: First song (23 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Well corleone from New Zealand, I did start except for RISING SUN, and I think most of us started with this song.
BUT: BUT BUT, in Belgium, Brussels (the CAPITOL of EUROPE!!!), there was a guy on television, every wednesday, when we were free from school, he was on television, when it all started, and he must be between 85-90 years old and was on the screen for ages. It was a program for older kids, starting 10 years, but sometimes we looked at 17 (more to laugh, or pure nostalgia). The program was 3 hours and filled with cartoons, of course the MUST SEEN episode, performed by the best of the best actors we had here, and 40 minutes long. Those actors, as youngster, you had a crush on all of them and sometimes 1 time a year you could meet them. In 1971, I was 15 years old, 16 in December, is one of those memories. Everybody owning a television, must go to see them live. Incredible but true, 9 years later, a VERY LONG TIME, when 15 years old, I was the personal MEDICAL DOCTOR for the same actors and more really becoming very, very close friends. It is so crazy, you adore them, but they tell you that they adore you!! I am definitely not a pretender, I am just me, but it would be a big lie to denie that feeling.
So the TV man was called "UNCLE BOB", he was the smartest man alive for all the kids, knowing everything, like everything about learning to make knots when you take 2 ropes, and here we go: HE played guitar, and he edited also books (only in Flandres, the dutchpart of Belgium), sold book after book, and at the end of the show, he played guitar, surrounded by children, who were allowed to play, but more then a little whistle? I can't remember. He started to play, camera pointed at his fingers, and face, and every kid miles and miles away, could HEAR what he played, a real super song, try to do the same as he did?? it will be impossible, and an easy tune. So he played 2-3 songs, explained those songs, who were of course in his book. So, in fact all the rising sun, and Denver songs, he is known as the man who learned the children play guitar.
At first, I had already post my answer, but ask "every single guitar player, here where did you learn to play, you will always hear the same name: BOB", using very simple 2-3 chord diagrams, and a song, you could sing after you heard it ONCE.
To improve the skills, you started to practise more and more, but when you are 15 years old, and it is starting to get a burdon: I use pink floyd: "he teacher, leave us kids alone"

Morning Boot, you are still sleeping I guess, there are 4 time zones: from East TO WEST, NY: 3-6 hours sometimes 7 hours, depending on the so called gulfstream.
So this is written at 08:56 sharp, do you live in the 4 th zone, Seattle does, that's all I know.
But about Christian Music, I HATE TO BE THE NAUGHTY CRITICIST, for me, just me it seems a kind of PUBLICITY STUNT as well with all due respect for the hard working and good player, and also religions.
I am going to post a "silly, and more private topic, but I learn a lot here, but it is still a D that I get
