Welcome to Chordie TJ!  Thing is, most songs with a whole band backing them have a lot more going on than just a guitar and a singer... so a lot is left up to interpretation as far as patterns go to try to fill some of that in.  I agree with the above, check youtube because if it's a good song chances are someone else has already tried to play it acoustic.  I find a lot of times a simple dd uu du pattern works for many songs... sadly, a lot of what I play isn't distinguishable until I start singing.  lol

Awesome Deadstring!  It sounds like you wandered into something wonderful there.  A smile ear to ear for at least a week over that one!  big_smile  Great!

It's sad, because there is a good chance someone will be that stupid and not pay attention to the shipping charges.  I tell everyone to look THERE before they even READ the descriptions.  Sad... I did sell something once and didn't make a special note about price to Alaska or Hawaii... of course the winner was in Hawaii, and I lost my butt on the shipping.  Ebay is NOT for dummies.

That sounds like a pretty happy and filled life to me Toney!  Kiss em, and enjoy each moment that you're blessed with... it's not always easy, but those sticky kisses are quite a reward!  And keep on playing of course.  smile

My husband mentioned wanting to do this for me... with a Martin Kit.  I think he's crazy, and I'm scared to death cuz what if it sounds aweful and I don't love it?  ha ha!  I think it's sweet he wants to.  Something like this is scary to me though especially if Pix hasn't even done it yet!  LOL!

happy NGD!  yes, the "rules" are... if you get a new guitar and are capable, pictures please!

I don't think I've actually seen a Guild in any of the local stores around here.  I'll have to continue to keep my eyes open and maybe one will pop up one of these days.  smile

My thoughts are with your family and especially your son and daughter in law... I'm sure it's not easy for you to be far away and unable to be by their side for support.  Hugs, prayers for miracles, and the best thoughts I can muster for the baby's health, the doctor's intelligence, and your kids' emotional strength.  I'm sure the baby will be in the hospital (NICU - neonatal ICU) for a while even if all goes well.  Please keep us updated!

I'll have to find the link but Chordie has a live music page were members can webcam and share audio with each other.   I forget who set it up but will find the link and post it here.

Pix, do you know if Yahoo Groups does this yet?  I've always thought it's a functionality that should be included in their free services (although I'm sure bandwith would cause an issue at the price of free)

An Italian Aria?  Classy.

Yeah... no one really likes opera much... and they think that "stuff" is opera, so to the GUITAR!  (I still sing in the shower though).

well... you could attempt to print it and then print to a PDF file I suppose.  Then you'd have it saved on your computer as a PDF.  I like my binder with printed music much better though.  In fact, there's more in there than there is in "my songbook".  When I find something I like I just print it straight away rather than save it for later.  Then it gets hole punched, and put in the binder for later.  Sometimes I forget I've put songs in there, but every few weeks I just go through the entire binder trying to play everything in it and come back across some that I've saved in there.  I don't generally feel that my guitar and laptop get along that well.  smile

How AWESOME that you two finally got together to hang out.  I was hoping to hear that you would when I heard you were heading to Florida Jeff.  I totally get Roger's jealousy... and am counting down the days till the July Jam Zurf set up!

A world wide Chrodie online jam session huh?  I've never actually tried Skype myself, I do know that I've had a few webcam windows in Yahoo open at once.  I'm sure there's a way to put a bunch of them in one place.  hmmm... I'll have to think about that one a bit more.  Pix probably does have a little more webcam use than I do though.  Most of the people  I chat with are friends close by so I haven't even used my webcam in a while.  It's an idea though!

MeganJane when viewing someone's songbook you see the list of all the songs, at the bottom of the screen you can choose to import songbook.  That will add the entire thing into your own "my songbook".  If you open up the individual song and on the right click on "add songbook" you can add just that song into your "my songbook".  I suppose it's a bit confusing, but it does imply "add TO songbook".  Go ahead and give it a try and let us know if it works right for you.  BTW, if you have 100 songs in your songbook then you won't be able to add any more.  You'll then have to make up a new songbook to add to.  smile

This mom drives a minivan with 160k on it... times coming to get rid of it soon for an economy car.  I used to drive a 1500 Chevy extended cab but the car seats wouldn't fit in the back sad  I miss that truck!  The hubster's had some fun vehicles over the years but had to give them up for vehicles that he could actually drive long distances and bring work gear along with.  I'll see if I have any pics for ya'll to ooo and ahhh over!  LOL!

Thank you!  So FYI to everyone else, a 5 day out of state license is $16.00.

Gabby - I will ONLY go camping with an air mattress!  Not only is it comfy, but if your tent should get a bit wet inside for any reason it also keeps you "above water" big_smile

Zurf, do you happen to know what fishing regulations are for out of towners?  I'm sure you will point me to a website here shortly smile  I know in NY a fishing license must be had by anyone over the age of 16.

It's very hard to watch some of the videos... I can't imagine dealing with something like that here.  Fingers crossed, hopes and prayers for your family Z; I hope everyone is safe and I'm very glad to know your parents happened to be somewhere other than Japan during this particular time.
