Me too!  Good news, he's been caught by the mods and banned (look under his name.  YAY!) ... and I'm sure his post will be removed as soon as the mod of this section gets back on.  In the mean time... maybe someone should spam his email inbox LOL! (nah... it's probably a fake address listed).  Thanks to everyone who reported all this crud they found, most is now gone.  YAY CHORDIE MEMBERS!

OK... now... about that tuner... used it again today... so quick and easy.  LOVE IT!

Hi Ryan, welcome to the forums; if you do a search within the forum for "Beatles" you'll find that this is a known issue.  Unfortunately our fearless leader, coder, programmer, awesome web admin hasn't yet found a solution that will keep all the members happy as well as the lawyers.  sad

Amy

ps... Roger, maybe we should make a sticky for this issue?  I can throw something together when I get a few moments if you'd like.

I would just like to thank, all the experianced contributers to the forum you have been a big inspiration over the last few week since being member of chordie,i've  done a lot of reading (theory) and applied it to my playing
and have noticed a massive difference when playing.I'm no master of the fret board as i've only been learning about eleven week but i can honestly say i'm making music i recorded my first solo today no singing lol just letting it flow with four chords and some string picking and it felt like something clicked inside the old brain and i was like wow was that really me playing that.

So a big thankyou all for the excellent information on chordie it is appreciated from an old strummer wink

And for those who are just starting to learn guitar please please stick with it don't let it grind you down
and if it does, just do what i do and take a days break then come back refreshed it makes a massive difference,
dont overload yourself with frustration and enjoy it.

Chordie is GREAT!  Glad to have you around Steve!

You've got some great advice in there too!

Nice job William... I'm not sure all what this entails that you've done, but it if I'm wrapping my head around this correctly, it was a LOT of darn work!  Do we have the next Bach in our midst?  smile  Keep the music alive sir!

Zurf, if what you're doing is working to keep you in the loss average of 2 lbs per week, then you're doing great!  I'm no specialist, but the suggestion is usually cardio every other day/ and toning on the opposite days as that... and take at least one day of rest.  Walking is cardio... sit ups are toning.  I get frustrated when people get so hung up thinking that they need to go to a gym and use weights that they forget to just use their own body's resistance sometimes.  Again, it sounds like you're doing great!  Zguitar is totally on the right track!  smile  Although, I'm not so sure strumming counts as exercise!  LOL!

Selso... chances are you are not eating healthy???  I'd say step one is to write down everything you eat for the next week.  Literally, 5 M&Ms write it down.  2 dozen wings with 1/2 cup blue cheese dressing, write it down.  Then get to one of the websites that has the food pyramid on it and take a close look at it and see what you could improve upon with your eating habits.  Then, same as someone trying to lose weight... look at your physical activity.  You can't be hungry if you're not getting rid of the energy.  Exercise releases GOOD vibe feelings in the body that help you want to do better with your eating/and help with your emotional well being.  And well... there's a whole lot of emotional baggage that pushes us to not do so well sometimes.  Ridding yourself of some of that will make a world of difference too.  I think I sound rather presumptuous here, and I offer my apologies for that... just while there's usually underlying reasons and the nitty gritty of them is different for everyone, they are usually the same reasons at the heart.

I've personally been on a heal my own emotional baggage kick lately... I do tend to implore others to do the same when I get this way, cuz it feels good to see the light and not just wander through the darkness wondering where the end of the tunnel is!  smile  I think I sound a little crazy tho.  LOL!  So I'll stop there.  Good luck my friend!

5 lbs a month is a very reasonable goal... 10 is possible, but not as reasonable.  Average healthy weightloss that is more likely to stay OFF is about 2 lbs a week, but after about 3 months of it, all your routines need to be kicked up a notch as your loss will plateau.  I'd stick with the 5 and hope for more.  One forum that I used to participate (moderate) on a while back was a weight loss forum (as moderator, I didn't have to pay for my membership at the website... however, I like my perks here much better!).  Absolutely being held accountable to someone helps, doing challenges also helps (aka exercising with others).  Writing down everything that goes into your mouth also helps.  Grabbing a handful of M&M's several times a day is one thing, when you write it down it's entirely another as it helps you SEE what you're doing and be accountable to yourself and your own plan (along with writing down the excercise you actually did each day).  I like M&M's!

GOOD LUCK!

It kind of reminds me of when Michael Jackson died.  It was alllll over the TV, every channel.  Sorry Phill that you  have to put up with our presidential stuff over there.  I REALLY am sorry, because I don't care to watch HOURS on end of "Polls are in from 5 states", "Polls are in from 17 states" ... on an on an on.  Such a drama!  Just tell me who the heck won would ya?  LOL!  Oh well, I still look at people as people and I have never understood people's fascination with famous/royalty/politicians/etc.  I'm glad you could get away from it for a bit.  Luckily, since I'm the main female in the house I didn't have to worry about everyone else here oodling over it all.  I'll be happy when everyone is done going on and on about what everyone looked like though on FB.

Hi all!  It's my understanding that BGD did get a few takers for the picks package.  Just to give a refresher for the next time it comes around, the game we're playing works like this...
Get the package, open it, oooodle over contents, post that you've received it here in this thread (and maybe a picture if you feel so inclined).  The person that wants it next should click on the current pick holder's email link under their profile and email them something along the lines of "I want the picks!" along with their snail mail address.  The first one to email him/her is the winner (and may be notified by the sender that it's coming... or not sometimes smile) Sender comes back here and says "I have a taker!" in the hopes that their email doesn't continue to get bombarded.  Send it on... repeat!

smile  Tops (Jeff) and I have been trying to keep the map updated... although I have been really laid back about it and he's done 99% of the work.  I think it may be time to update again.  If the recent recipients AFTER myself could please send me a quick email with their City/State/Country I'll update that map lickkety split!  THANKS!!!

Never fear men, all the women around the world aren't glued to it.  Although, I must admit a lot of my friends even in the US seem to be interested.  I could care less.  I assume the women in the US are interested because of the old fairy tales they used to hear as kids and wishes of being Cinderella or the like.  I don't know... I suppose if I was raised with figure heads such as the British Royalty I might feel differently.  Then again, I would not swoon over meeting a famous singer either.  I imagine I'd treat them just like another person, since they are.

Love this site and all who make it what it is.

smile  Thanks Bushy!  I must say, it wasn't the easiest thing for me to figure out... but I'm glad I "got it" and was able to help out with this and so glad everyone could put their heads together and we could make it a resource and sticky!  YAY to everyone involved... without the question, the answers, and the suggestion it wouldn't have happened.  My belief is that forums are only as great as their members are and this one has a LOT of GREAT members!!  smile

BTW... here's the link to the sticky:  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=15164

Howdy Folks, I'm new to the Chordie Chat Corner but have been a big fan of the site for a long time.Everyone is very helpful and supportive,I sure like that.
To me it's the lyrics. That's what grabs me first. Everyone can take a song and make it their own.  That's the beauty of music. Each person can make the same song different yet very appealing. From very simple to drive you crazy complex. That's what keeps music magical. Now don't get me wrong music is important,it's just as dynamic as the expression of the lyrics. Think of it as the icing on the cake. Love it , nurture it, let grow. It's a lifetime of enjoyment no matter what you do with it. Joey, great inquiry. Keep the thought process going.

Hey Amy:  I was messing around and heard this song and decided to take a stab playing and recording it in my own limited way!  I then read this thread about you wanting a song for your dad and I thought this might be a good one.  After recording it, I thought to myself that I could hear you singing this with alot of emotion and I think that is what you are trying to portray is how much he has meant to you.  Hope you like it!

are you playing this?  http://chordie.com/chord.pere/www.guita … 41574.html
I think I could totally pull this one off in a week, I may just have to try it out!  Thank you for sharing!  smile
I do think I'll keep learning the "Leader of the Band" though too.  I have a LOT of songs to work on now.  Here I was in a slump, but no more.

Joey, I think I get what you're saying.  YES the lyrics are very important to me (and ARk's right, this topic has been discussed before, although slightly different).  A good melody is very important too... great guitar work sure, but usually a song isn't good (to me) unless the words have some type of meaning.  The songs I like the most, I can relate to the lyrics and can sing the tune (I don't care much for heavy metal, no matter how great the lyrics are because it's not "singable" to me).

Had a lovely Easter, thank you for asking!  Hope your's was nice too!!

Thanks guys!  Yeah... it really is a very special feeling... and now I get a little of what I see in my Dad's eyes when he and I play together.

YES, it does make me want to get better... but alas, I can sing and they can't so I'm one step ahead there!  LOL!
