Hey Boot, as a pro, if I take my Gibson to India, or China, and I let them look really professional, meaning the right people, they are able to analyse 100% the coils, or hardware and they can "theoretical" make an EXACT copy, using the same wood... is this correct.
In fact I ask this question, because in India silk is a fraction of the price we pay, if we pay 100$ for 1 meter, they sell it for 10$. This means, and I was witness, because when I was there, a couple was going to get married 3 months later, they had AND the pattern of the wedding robe and pictures (price here: 2500$), and 3 days later she had a "top quality wedding dress" A DRESS YOU WEAR 1 DAY, for about 200$. I saw her later and she told me that the dress was so beautiful and strong, and more: they travelled for free, because of buying that dress there.

Can somebody give me advise concerning software like cubase, protools.
I like songwriting, so I have a few songs, who are finished.
HAVING A BOSS BR 600, I have probably possibilities to record music I wrote.
There are 8 tracks, and a lot more virtual tracks.Let's say, I recorded with my boss an acoustic song, but I need electric guitars too, drums, bas and voice.
The "results" of my song are stored on a compact flash card. So, probably I have to put my CF card in my PC.
RESULT: the song is on PC, I listen to it, but I hear some false notes, and I like a fatter guitar sound, and I want to multiplie my voice: WHAT PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE, and WHICH IS THE BEST TO DOWNLOAD OR BUY.
When the software is installed on my PC, I can probably look for my song, and than start to make it as perfect as possible.WHO HAS EXPERIENCE TO HELP ME WITH SOFTWARE TO MAKE FROM MY SONG, A REAL GOOD AND COMPLETE PRODUCT?
I think that there is software, cheap AND good.
Who remembers the time, even not so long ago that a program like Cubase, was almost not affordable.I am NOT a professional, but I play pretty well guitar(s), I also like playing with effect processors, the oldest is a zoom 8080, but still the best, so if I need a bas sound, I can play bas guitar in 3 different ways with that zoom, but here again, where do I plug in my zoom, can it be done on my BOSS 600?

Re: the ballad of the broken dream boulevard (9 replies, posted in Songwriting)
HEY Badeye, you know what happened, I tried it, D (the real on 2nd fret), went up, more like sliding up to fret 4, same finger position, it fits very well, but in my opinion it's real great to do that movement 2-3-4 in D, personally I think, or I have the feeling that , telling that the song is finished for 90%, it is a great chord, to make or use it at the end.
PROBLEM: I just played it using a ZOOM 8080, on electric, and using your suggestion is blowing away everyone. Why a problem, I did play it already electric, in an early stage, since I don't have lyrics (I am in a lyricless mood), but I played again, on an ACOUSTIC AMP, using a kind of flanger with delay, and I had one problem, using the D on the 4th fret: within 2 minutes a completely different song. I can write, when the mood is there, I always call it: acoustic mood (don't even try to play electric than), and an electric mood, using it pure, but I like effects real bad, so electric guitar ------ zoom ---- acoustic amp (100 w, so strong amp). I am starting now in D, going up to the 4th fret, wow, what a sound, I think it is to early to put it on this site, but it goes well.
YOU SEE ADMINIMODERATORS, that is one of the reasons for what I think will be the once in a lifetime reunion, but THAT will not be easy. Try to place a topic about who shouls be interessed in a reunion, if a reunion can be realised, I start saving $$ already.

Badeye, Old Doll and the bosses, almost nobody did hear the song. That's why I worked at least one hour to write it down.
IF I SHOULD THE SONG ON THE RADIO!!!.
No, I am sometimes so shy, (roots: I was always pushed to be the best, and..).
I know that I olay pretty good, and I will use the boss br 600.
Probably I will put more: problem, nice tune: 1 hour later how did it sound.
ut in a honest way, I am quit productive. I asked once dor rhe CLAPTON intro, CROSSROADS, I didn't use it, but there was a "heavy rock song born" I a 100% sure to put a few (60% of the time, instead of 5 minutes: 3 minutes) on myspace or youtube. The more you try those quick changes, the more your left hand will become tired.
I am a huge 3-4 chords song fan, this I called it a complicated 2 chord, I try to do badeys chord, I Forgot: you can slide down too: 1st fret. and I forgot if you take the fingers from A. Or put some C or E, I tried it and a # or b is better and this song is the "final product (90%).
Will try to post some others, but m the 3-4 chord man, they aren't easy.
Thanks, EVEN BAD CRITICS ARE WELCOME, it sucks, I don't like it (if so: tell me why, so I can change things)

Where is the time that, even I did it back in 1974 watching a Moody Blues concert, and on tape at home, you could hear it, them singing, but all that other noise. I lost that cassette, but with actual techniques, they could maybe reduce the extra sound.
Now if you go to a concert, you take a recorder like a ZOOM H4, you point it at the group who's playing, and you will have already a very good record.
But I am convinced that when a group like the Beatles or Stones, when recording in a studio, they had to cut in their songs, like from 20 to 12 songs, so the other 8 songs, could be used for a next album or be removed, giving the opportunity to sound engineers to "take" outtakes, and bring them on the market later.
Is this a theory that is close to reality?

Re: the ballad of the broken dream boulevard (9 replies, posted in Songwriting)
As I wrote, it is a very "tricky" song. Only the "o" stands for the place where you have to put your finger. It was in my head, but as the Beatles told us: "we can work it out". I (tried) to play it again, and starting from D, going to fret one, only using the first and third string, back to D, you can hear some Pink Floyd.
I have the impression that this is not a song for starters. But even they can bring more ideas. I have the impression the melody is OK, so no other chords, I have a "heavy" left hand after practicing it, the biggest problem is the speed you need to change fingers.
A very good exercise is "let it grow" by Clapton (461, ocean boulevard). I doon't like quick changes, but the song really sucks if you don't do it.
But where can I find chord diagrams to make it more clear?
Lyrics, I haven't but they will come. I am more a "melody man" than a "lyric" man.
TRY, TRY, TRY because every idea is really welcome.
So I repeat, x= no finger on that place, o= finger on that place.

Did you ever hold a flame close to your a**? You should try it, and certainly after a big meal, with beans, eggs, brussels sprouts, yep, these green things are from Belgium.
You can even fart in a bottle (the more he smells the better) and close the bottle immediately. One year later, you ask someone to open the bottle, and look at his/her face: it still smells like hell (but you really need to close it very well).
About farting: I am sure if this is your speciality, you can place a microphone and instead of being a guitar player, you are a (F)artist (nice word by the way): what do you do for living, WELL I AM A FARTIST.
At the end of 1800 (1894) and 1900 there was a guy performing in Paris, in the MOULIN ROUGE, called "le petomane"( translated in English: the fart maniac. (see wikipedia). His real name is, or was JOSEPH PUJOL (+1945). He was able to fart the "Marseillaise= French national hymn.
On youtube there is a video called "blazing sadles".
Today there are also some FARTISTS. Take google: search fart artists, you will even see that they sell a "fart cd" on amazon.com.
Small extra note: every living person farts a few hours a day, most of the people don't realise it. When you breathe, or you drink a soda, just remember that the air going IN, has to come OUT. Oral & Anal.
If we are able to colour a fart, in red or green, you will see, walking on 5th avenue in New York, a lot of red "clouds" behind men and women.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 fart a day, keeps the bugs away.

Are there chordians who have knowledge about the "famous" copies made in Japan, like Tokai, before the lawsuit, and the same about the brand Orville (founder of Gibson).
I just know that those copies were really good, and that prices for "older" tokais are extremely high.
But I don't know a thing about the kind of electronics they used. Are these humbuckers PAF's.
I just know that people are clever enough to analyse the complete humbucker structure and than they make exactly the same humbucker.
Was Tokai busy with these "experiments"?

Re: Mother Earth! (21 replies, posted in Songwriting)
Dolly, finally I put a song on chordie. It looks easy but it is a tricky song, because you need to change a few times your finger position. I think this is for the more experienced players.
I wrote it already 2 months ago, when my mother was in hospital. It is a ballad, but if you really want, and you use an electric guitar, you have more a rock song. It took me long, because I was focused too much on the D, and it took me a while before I could play it as I saw it in my head. The problem was to add a refrain, I tried a lot of chords, even using #, dim, b, to end finally with a stupid A chord. A7 to be precise, a chord that can be played using 2 fingers or an A on the 2nd fret with a finger on the first string (E string) on the 3th fret.
I wish I could hear your song.
There must be a way?
I finally buyed the BOSS BR 600, to record my stuff, or covers, they "settle down" on a compact flash card, I put it in the computer, but I didn't use it yet.

There is a guitar I love, the line 6 variax 700 "electric", but if I should buy another, it should be the variax 300, same effects on board. You have some acoustics, and a lot of electrics, but for a reasonable price. But that's who I am: I'll go often for the most expensive.

Dear administrator, moderators and fellow chordians. This is my FIRST song I put on CHORDIE. I still have no lyrics and I wanted to have some serious advise concerning the lyrics. I tried to make the way of playing it as good as I could. I do speak 5 languages, and my ENGLISH has improved a lot since I am a chordian. About the song, I can tell you that the title can be changed, because it's still a "working title", and the lyrics I have in mind, are about our dreams, desires, relations, compared with a big and long road ( a good title would be "the long and winding road" but I think this title is already in use. The "essence" of the song is about, as I wrote, dreams becoming reality and like millions of people our dream balloon explodes, mostly caused by a fear to loose someone: if not "dead" than "alive" always turning around COMMUNICATION and STANDING WITH BOTH FEET ON THE GROUND. So, if you have some lyrics in mind I would be grateful and about the music: I tried to show very clear the way I play it. It is more difficult than you think. I am just using 2 chords, but in fact there are a lot more chords.
Other question: DO YOU LIKE THIS SONG, and MORE: DO YOU THINK THAT I SHOULD ADD A BRIDGE, like going from A7 to a C chord?
Please help me, it wasn't easy to put it here, it took me almost 2 hours, and still I am not self assured.
This is also the reason, why I changed this topic, because I forgot to tell you about the things I mentioned.
Starting in D
x x x o x o
x x x x o x than you go to the first fret like this
x x x o x o
x x x x x x sliding down to the first fret sounds maybe a little bit Pink Floydish.
and immediately you go back to D. That chord is followed by an A7
x x x x x x
x x o x o x and you can, but not necessary do the same movement as you did with D
a QUICK slide down to the first fret, immediately back to A7.
The more difficult part is taking chords and going up, starting with A7, don't change your position of your fingers when sliding, or strumming up, both ways are nice like this:
x x x x x x (4th fret)
x x o x o x (5th fret)--------> here you take the A7, like above, moving up to the 5th fret.
x x o x o x (7th fret)------> you slide (or strum) back to the 5th fret, and back to A7
From A7 on 2nd fret back to D, but here is the more complicated part, because you have to go up, to the 5th fret, the 7th fret and to the 10th fret, changing your finger position as shown. I swear it is not as easy as it looks, because of the position of your fingers changing every fret I mentionned.
x x x o x o (2nd fret)
x x x x o x (3th fret)
x x x x o o (5th fret)
x x x o x x (6th fret)
x x x o x o (7th fret) and than up to the 10th with fingers placed like on the 5th
x x x x o x
x x x x o o (10th fret)
x x x o x x. (11th fret)
You go back to the D second fret, using the SAME POSITION OF YOUR FINGERS, from the place you were: 10th fret and the SAME way back over the 7th, 5th to the D chord.
Try it, and let me know something. It is finished and not finished, there is in fact no refrain, and I didn't use a bridge yet.

Re: what model should i get? (14 replies, posted in Electric)
Detman, did you had a "nice experience" sitting on an amp hahahahahaha
No, it is not a joke or ment to be a joke.
Because sitting on an amp (if he's big enough) allows you to FEEL the vibrations of a guitar=sound vibrations. Just ask (I am probably a blessed man here, because they all know me in thee major stores, allowing me to try guitars locked up: you that: just look and don't touch) 5-6 guitars, sit down, leave the amp as he is, better regulate the amp, tone, distortion, volume when you start playing the first guitar, and continue. You feel the sound, hear the sound.. and one of the best advises is, go with someone, not necessary that he or she knows evben how a guitar works, because when I play with a friend, the sound you hear is quit different than the sound you hear playing alone. About Epiphone: they are part of Gibson and that's the reason why I call it "DANGEROUS GUITARS", after a while most of epiphone players want to have the real Gibson. I have 1 hollow body: epiphone sheraton, and this is a super guitar, but I am not a huge hollow body fan, so I am pleased. ATTENTION: Epiphone is very good, but.. see above.
Tokai: did you know that the prices for the tokai copy of a gibson les paul are getting sometimes more $$ than the real gibson.
It is difficult to choose, 30 years ago you almost had only Gibson LP standard&custom and fender strat & tele. I really don't know what guitar I should buy now to start.
A squier can be interesting, very cheap and you can change the coils.
You can buy a Gretsch for 480$.
I suggest to look at www.musicianfriends.com this site is very clear, search electric guitar---solid body, and left you will see price ranges, like between 200-300$ This is for me the best way to look and compare, and take note of those guitars (5-6) go to a music store and compare.
That is what I should do.

Dear fellow CHORDIANS
I am learning a lot, and if it's not on chordie's chat corner, it is on the other subjects.
I am very pleased to understand more about Christian music.
Still I have some questions to ask, specific theories TRUE or FALSE.
CHRISTIAN MUSIC: about being a Christian: is it true that in these days more and more people go to church, or outing themselves as Christians?
Is the same "movement" visible in the MUSLIM community in the USA, and what is the general attitude against Muslims? Here in my country more or less negative.
Coming back to music: Norman Greenbaum's "spirits in the sky" can it be considered as Christian music?
- I have it very difficult with terminology used in music, from speed metal, grunge... and more.
WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF R&B? I always was convinced Rhythm & Blues, but giving this "definition to performers as Beyoncé Knowles and a lot of others, is for me NOT AT ALL CORRECT OR EVEN JUSTIFIED.
QUESTION: what is R&B in the USA.
I would be really happy if I have response concerning R&B

Little story: I followed 2 years a course in hypnosis, I used it in my job but sometimes just for fun. It is amazing what you can reach. BUT people will never do 1 thing that is not in the line of their character.
But you can make people talking, I take Quebec Canada as example, only English even if there mother tongue is French, and they are not able to speak French, just English. You can indeed tell someone who is a huge Elvisfan, that he meets and greets Elvis under hypnosis, and for that person it is REAL
You also have the phenomenon: ILLUSIONIST like Copperfield. How can this man "create the illusion" that the statue of liberty has gone. THIS IS INCREDIBLE.
