L5-L6 ... that's lower back right? I believe T's are the upper back. I'm sorry to hear of the back pain either way. Sounds like MRI's are in order for sure to find out how serious it all is. My Dad had back surgery but it was in the upper back/neck - he was on the verge of permanent nerve damage and had done the chiropractor thing for years and years. I gotta say, everyone's situation is different. Do your research and find the best back doctors around, and in the mean time a good chiropractor generally won't hurt anything! BUT like Cam... please don't take my advice as medical advise, just letting you know what I know about it. Everyone's different.
flexeril... that's how it made me feel too. It doesn't really take the pain away, just makes ya not care so much and makes it so you can sleep. If the muscles are spasming then generally something is irritated. I hope you have some anti-inflamatories to go with the flexeril. They take a while to work (a few days) but they'll help the spasms stop... and you MUST rest those muscles. Back spasms are so annoying both physically and mentally in my opinion. I hurt my shoulder doing people's hair and was having all sorts of spasms through my entire upper back. Crazy that it could happen from the little things as well as the big ones.
Take good care of yourself and that body... it's all you've got! I hope it doesn't last too long and you can get the guitar out soon!

AWE! Nice one, and so sweet to see this interaction between you two!
Sounds like some good fun Ed... thrilled to hear you had a great time and got to cross off something from your list! I haven't really been to very many concerts or to any music festivals. I've been so darn busy being Mommy that I haven't had much time to do my own things. It sounds like a BLAST! I'm really sorry to hear about your son, but glad at the same time. It's good that he didn't continue to ignore these symptoms! A couple prayers going up for him in hopes that all turns out to be great, and hopefully he can make it to hear that band he wants before they are done!
It sounds like this is just what she needed, being close to her family. It shows a tremendous amount of love on your behalf to make such a move. God wiilling, it ends up as a good thing for you as well. A/C... lots and lots of fake cool air my friend.
Under the right circumstances, I believe that it is not any worse for a person than having a few drinks of alcohol. I watched this one British show where they went to Amsterdam and experimented with all the different varieties in a "coffee house"... much like having different flavored coffees although more like trying different drinks. They also did some testing on the effects of driving a vehicle after use, and they showed the comparison to driving a vehicle after alcohol use. In this particular testing, the alcohol induced driving was FAR more dangerous than marijuana. It was QUITE interesting. Frankly, I'd not want to be on the roads with anyone under the influence of anything (including many legal prescription drugs as they can throw you for a loop!). BUT, just like Alcohol, I believe people need to be careful. Sadly, as it's not regulated you never do know what you're getting (unless you know the person that grew it). I wouldn't want to get a second hand high, so I feel for you Roger. If you aren't choosing it on your own, it's just as bad as someone slipping something into your drink. As for my personal use, I'll Plead the Fifth with Toney! Russell, I love brownies but I think that's just my chocolate addiction and that's another story! ha ha!
Agreed, best thing to do is open up youtube and type the song name in and listen there. You also may find a lot of other people's versions who have covered the song and uploaded it to get an idea of how to go about strumming. Welcome to chordie Pete!
well, a quick google search came up with a LOT of options when you search for searchin with the coasters (tongue twister?)... here's one:
http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/c/coast … in_crd.htm
check out google a bit more and enter in "chords searchin coasters" and you'll find a ton more options! Hope you find something that will work well for you!
(edited so the link was clickable)
Nice job as always Russell... and ignore them, I like the bearded look... but then again, I always was a sucker for a little facial hair on a guy
I like his song, and love the image at the end. I'll be rooting for him, and wish lots - O - Luck!!
Sounds like a great little working vacation Toots! Getting to see Jon Reno, Jeff, and Toney I'm sure was awesome!
BTW your link isn't a working link, even if I log into facebook.
Thanks for sharing that with us Russell! I could just sit and listen to you dandle away on the acoustic all day. Very nice
Dino, the idea is that it's supposed to be a less painful way to still work the abs.
I would start out with just sitting at the edge of a chair, also that way you won't go too far back to strain your back... the chair back can catch ya! Good luck. Hope it works for you.
Chad, I think the idea is - if you're hosting songs on your own site that you'd like included... you should host them in the chopro format for easy inclusion
If you're just submitting from other sites, Per (our admin) will have to look at the links individually so it might take a little longer, but they'll get added as long as all is well. So no worries, you can just submit the link for inclusion and he'll get to it. He's a busy guy and Chordie is really more a hobby of his than anything else... hence... the site being free to belong to, save info (songbooks), etc... and the cost of hosting the site and such is paid for with the advertisements.
Hope that answers your question some?
Did you ever try "reverse sit ups"? Start in the sitting position and go back as far as you can without hurting yourself and then sit back up. It's kind of opposite of a crunch. This is usually the one they start new moms with after delivery.
Thanks guys! I actually had a nice Mother's Day away from the kids yesterday (which was realllllly weird!). A friend of ours got married and did the wedding on Mother's Day to celebrate one of their moms that had passed on. It was kind of fun pretending like I wasn't mom for a day, but I sure did miss the little buggers.
I received an awesome set of homemade aluminum foil earrings from my 6 year old.
Not that I'm aware of currently Jerry... It is possible someone has a songbook saved of songs such as alternate tunings however. You could search the public songbooks. Perhaps someone will jump in here with another suggestion too. Welcome to the forums btw!

I've thought about a guitar fund, and vacation, new tv, house repairs, new car, kids college, retirement, etc... the list goes on. Every time I think about setting a jar in my room to save dollars in, I remind myself that I don't have enough room (or jars) for all the things I'd like to save for! LOL!
It is a good idea though. Maybe I should just make an "Amy Fund" and then determine to only use it on things for ME and not everyone, and then another one for the family. That MIGHT work!
I'm a little late here... but welcome to chordie and the forums! Good luck to you and your friend!
I honestly haven't paid enough attention to know the difference between all the different models, or anything much about bracing. However, there is one Martin in particular that I am in love with each and every time I go into the music shop. I don't want to say it's the sound, or the feel, or the look, or even the name... but that guitar just sings to me, or rather feels like it's singing into me (and even makes my mistakes sound good). Due to the price tag (just shy of 1k) I have made it a point to NOT know what he specific model is because I don't want to fall too deeply in love with it.
We've totally hijacked this thread... but... Doug, what do you think of Elixer Nano-Webs? They sure do last longer... I'm wondering how they do under your playing of 20 hours per week?
As for Dean Guitars... I don't know, never played one I don't think I've ever seen the brand at any of our local retailers but I will keep my eyes open a bit wider next time I stop to play some!
oH... AND THANK YOU FOR THE happy Mom's Day! I'll be celebrating it Monday as I'll be working (doing wedding hair) and then at a wedding all day tomorrow. Weird day for a wedding, but hey... tis what it tis
Thanks guys!
Dino ... I tried the D7 and it sounded, better, but still not quite right... still way better though!
Doug, it looks like he's playing a G instead of a D in those spots. I'll try it and see how it works for me. Thank you!
BTW... I change the words to "to have you be my man" ... ya know, gal and all. hee hee
I'm playing this version here: http://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/j/josh_ … an_crd.htm
C G D G C G D G ...
Am C D Am Bm D G ... etc...
On the lines "We can take our time" and "The way that I love you"... it seems that there needs to be something more than just the D Chord. Any help for simple strumming me? Thanks guys (and gals).
Amy
Welcome to Chordie Brenn!!!
ha! I almost blew coffee out my nose laughing so hard as I went back up to see how that looked! Thanks, I needed that! LOL
