Also, just what I need when I play my final drum solo (and sing "Sam Hall" and sing and play a few other tunes I hope y'all will help me with) at my wake. wink No time soon, don't worry. I'll be around a long time with my aggravating posts! wink

Bill

PS: May have to change "Sam Hall" to "Bill Craig". I'll have to work on that one. smile

Thanks, Joe, that helps.

Of course, if I had scrolled UP to see what this was about, I'd know, wouldn't I? smile

These are the hazards of being friends with me, I fear. Sometimes the obvious escapes me these days.

If I didn't have you ladies and gents to chat with, I'd be lost for sure, so forgive my many posts, if they are an aggravation.

Phill.

I have no idea what you just wrote! smile

Bill

ETA: But you're still my mate! smile

(mate being used here in case Phill is British as some of you seem to be, not because I have the hots for him and wish we were married or anything.)  smile smile

Oh, my GOODNESS!!!!!! I just fell in love!!!! wink

What a very sweet voice she has!!!!!!   (comment left and please let her know I'm demented, but know good vocals when I hear them, Roger).

Also, I need more of that voice! smile

Funny story, but when I saw what she was singing and before I went to the Tube, I thought: "All of me, why not take all of me?". (old pop standard. Think Tony Bennett or somebody). wink

That comes from being old. smile

This just made my whole day, Raquel and Roger!!!!!

I'm gushing, aren't I, guys and ladies? smile smile smile  So be it. I haven't gushed in a long time!

Bill

ETA: to add some stuff.

You're right, dino,

Not this year for sure, but maybe next year!

"Just an idea and only meant as a friend."

Just means I love to interact with y'all and I never mean to hurt feelings or criticize.

I'm just so grateful I have found some fellow musicians and poets to interact with.

Be that as it may, please disagree with anything I write, because I sure as hell can't just sit here and comment all the time. smile

As a musician with dementia, I need to interact with you all.

Thanks

Damn! You guys are deep. smile

"The old must die to give more space", needs some work, Grah1. I don't know what it should say, but it must be what Lennon/McCartney faced countless numbers of times, don't you think?

The "old" these days don't have to die, do they?

And "space' for the new is what?

And here are some suggested words for our friend Phill's "depressing" dilemma: Start over with:

"GOOD NIGHT, GOOD DAY!  HELLO NEW LIFE, WHAT DO YA SAY?"

Just an idea and only meant as a friend.

Your friend always,

Bill

Nah. Grah1,

Let's leave it as it is, as you say. It depends on our friend, Phill and his meaning.

"Slate" just wouldn't work, and as long as we know what he's saying, (which we both do, it seems smile  ), let's let it stand.

I'm just an old English Teacher before I changed my vocation, but have learned much since those days.

Oh, and Phill?

If you wouldn't mind, your words put me thinking of this song. I was his drummer on the road for a while......

Beautiful words, Phill.

I'd find some other word for "blackboard" but other than that, I love it and its sentiment. You make very clear what you mean. smile

Okay. I travelled further on down the "Harding Line", and in watching every video I kept thinking to myself, "If I ask him who he played and sung for" (meaning, Savoy Brown, Alvin Lee, Mayall, etc.) I'm going to embarrass myself finding out he played and sang for a group I liked and can't (due to this effing dementia) remember.

I watched, I listened and I was blown away! smile

Just wish I could find those other "this video does not exist" songs of yours, Russell.

Hey my friend!

Just travelling along the "Harding Video Trail" and I found your site, but I keep getting the above message on stuff in which you are featured.

"The Klingon National Anthem". for example, is one of those.

Pretty much all I saw was "Rock Island Line" which you and I both like, and the guy demonstrating the memory cable, on which I left a few comments.

I'd really like to see more of your playing.:)

Thanks!

Bill

Dino, Not much cheaper. my friend. I forget what the price  was to Tampa, but it would have cost us about $500.00 round trip.

Think about that one, friends! I live one state away and that's what Delta charges.

I'd be better off drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln you talk about in your signature line, buddy! Be a faster trip, anyway! wink

Thick arthritic fingers.

No probs putting them where they're supposed to be, except I can't get the B string to sound. Thumb is as far extended as I can get it, but still get that "thud".

Where would you all go on the neck to make it easier for me?

Thanks!

Doug and Dino,

Out of curiosity, I checked out Amtrak and a trip for just me runs $432.00 senior fare and has that connecting train in DC you mentioned, which makes no sense to me.

So if Dondra came along?....... Well, one can easily see it'd be cheaper to fly. smile

I know AMTRAK is having financial problems, but think about it: They have a monopoly on train travel here in the US! I mean WTH???/

Well, at least we exhausted those options. smile
