Use it or lose it philosophy comes in to play here.
Music is a language. if you play often you reinforce the tunes you know by heart and acquire more. If you almost never play to an audience, then you stay shaky with your lyrics and chords.
My brother-in-law was a native German. After four years in the U.S. speaking English only, he began to think in English and had a hard time finding German words to make conversation with a German tourist.

I remember in 1989 I was playing a single song guy gig at a neighborhood bar. I had my fat book on a sturdy steel music stand with a light. I had only been working alone for a month or so. I wore clear bottom tinted top sunglasses to hide the fact that I was reading.
Two bar customers walked around behind me and remarked, " Yeah, he's reading everything." I was mortified.
Started playing tuba with John Reno who never used a stand or read anything onstage. He said, " If you don't know it, don't play it." Besides wind, darkness and wet weather can take you out of your gig if you must read. The few guitar gigs I play these days, I bring my fat book but try to go as long as possible without it. I know four hours of music but not all my memorized material is appropriate. The book's handy for requests and associated songs because it has 400 plus tunes in it.

My Helicon Harmonizer pedal has a few effects like reverb as well as a silent tuner for your guitar and adds two voices in harmony to your vocal for $250.

Back in the day I had a night club cover band. It was very important to be accurate with lyrics while the song was making it's way up and down the top 40 hit list and for some years after. People who love the song are quick to pounce if the lyrics are wrong.
However after a much longer time, our arrangement would evolve and on some songs we inserted funny lyrics so we would not be so bored with playing it so often.

I never named a guitar but I named my two fists.
I call my left one "Sudden Death" cause when it hits somebody they die.
I can't settle on a name for my right fist because when I hit somebody, they die on the way up and rot on the way down. smile

I found it interesting that diminished chords repeat every fourth fret as you progress up the neck.

Looks good, Detman. Glad you're happy.
My son got a white Strat Squier . I'm a Gibson man but this Strat with no set up, played well enough, held a tune and sounded like any Stat I ever heard on U-Tube. That guitar, as is, is good enough to gig with.
If I didn't have my Gibson, I could live with this Squier.

Really....You are 20 years old!

This is an amazing truth. After age 12, we begin to lose hand-eye coordination.
As an illustration, my boat- builder buddy took us out in the swamp in his air boat he built. It had a Chevrolet 283 mounted on the back with an airplane propeller. Nothing protruded down below the hull so he could slide along on wet grass.
We were frog hunting. he would ease up to a Lilly pad with a frog on it.
His 11 year old son - kneeling in the bow would reach out and grab the frog and stuff it in a gunny sack. It looked so easy.
When we adults tried to grab a frog, the frogs would hop away too fast for us.
My buddy informed us that only people 12 and under can catch a frog with their bare hands.
My 10, year old grandson can line up on a target and shoot it before his dad and I even see it.

My wife is tone deaf but is my best critic. She can hear music fine but cannot reproduce it accurately. She did fine learning keyboard but will never be able to tune a guitar.
Twenty five years of playing six nights a week with a Fender Twin Reverb on 5 - rocked back on it's legs boresighted on the back of my head has given me a problem hearing A and E. Thank God for electronic tuners allowing me to compensate.

You are so right, Jerome. That room has fabulous acoustics.
I spent a year at a Benedictine Monastery in Cullman, Alabama that had a huge chapel with a giant pipe organ with six keyboards, a twelve trumpet choir and 400 monks on the floor below the choir loft singing Gregorian Chant in four part harmony. the reverb effect was perfect.
Any of you guys reading here would be amazed how good all that sounded. I could have been hooked for life.

There is a pickin' and grinnin' group that meets every Tuesday from 4 to 6 P.M. in a lounge about a mile from here. There are three players - drummer, rhythm/vocal guy and a lead guitar player all former pros and my same age (70). They meet every Tuesday to play for tips. These guys know a ton of good songs and play very well.
I sat in on two occasions to play their breaks and have been well received. They like my material and let me play all my silly songs - even the "R" rated ones. I am going back tomorrow again. So far I have not brought the tuba but one of these weeks I will surprise them with it. This is a good outlet for my musical "jones". I admire and enjoy these guys a lot. The club owner came and talked  to me and was most complimentary of all of us. He's getting a lot for free.

Hi Bunbun,
My 10 year old grandson Casey, is heavily into MW3. He has it on PS3.
He now has a video game channel where he advises new players.
http://www.youtube.com/user/TheFlamableOne?feature=mhee
I'm not sure how good he is but I know he has "prestiged" on several levels. He wears a headset with a mike and he plays with a team of regulars from around his neighborhood and some from distant states and foreign countries.
I'm an ex-marine and Casey's knowledge of modern weapons and team tactics far exceeds mine. Someday he will write and design video games. He wants to design a UAV game where he can bomb bad guys anywhere in the world from the comfort of his own game room.

Bgeib, sent it to you in an e-mail.
Cool song. Never heard it before.
Hope to hear from you again.
The song was written by Neil diamond. Glen Campbell had a hit with it.
This song is light, airy, high energy and positive.
It might be one I could get away with. Good set opener.
Made a copy and plan to do a video tutorial of this fun, simple song.
cheers,

Chords are simple. B and A in the verses. E and A in the choruses.

I played a Gibson ES330 archtop electric through a Korg effects pedal and a Peavey 6000 P.A. system. You can just see the Gibson head stock on the left side of the video. I am too old to have my picture taken.

I decided to do the do wop chorus with my Helicon Harmonizer pedal.
Casey and I only rehearsed enough to get through the thing - keeping it fun for him. We had a great time on this one.
