Well I guess TV revenue has changed the tradition of the Cincinnati Reds hosting the first game of the season as I see the Braves are playing Philly tonight.

Anyway, I have been a NY Mets fan my whole life. A passion inspired by my Grandmother. She used to live in Long Island, NY and followed the Mets from their first game.  As a child, we would spend for a couple of weeks with Gram every summer and going to Shea to see a game was something I looked forward to every year. It was real cool to share the love of Baseball with her and it was always a topic in our conversations as long as she lived.

Opening night has a special meaning to some of us, a ritual of Spring and I am excited as usual.

Any other baseball fans in Chordie Land? Who are your teams?

Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon rank right up there in my book.

That old chick from Journey... and that new chick with Journey

Hey man - I wasn't trying to pressure you buddy. I really was just bumping the thread to remove the offensive thread from the front page. wink

But it is good to see some progress, that sticky was getting old. Just posting a few tunes will be great! big_smile

Hi zosete and welcome to Chordie!

I also use the ipod touch and have found the application "My Songbook" offers an excellent interface. It's available for $1.99 on the iTunes App store and the application links directly to Chordie.

Congrats Pix - If she sounds half as purtty as she looks she'll be a keeper! I love New Guitar Day more than my Birthday and Christmas combined.

Not a real garden, but I do plant some tomatoes in those upside down planters and a self watering planter that both work real well. Nothing beats a home grown tomato or my fresh salsa. I can't wait.

Am i just fooling myself then ? . Does anyone know what a PC uses electricity wise ?

Old Doll.

No need to fret Old Doll, a typical PC uses about 100 watts of electricity while it's being used.  About as much as a single light bulb. In "sleep mode" with the monitor off, the PC uses even less. The big energy users in a typical house are heating, water heater, refrigeration and cooling. A typical water heater draws 4,000 to 5,000 watts in comparison (although it does cycle on and off via a thermostat). It is a good idea to turn the PC off while not in use (overnight), and LCD monitors are much more energy efficient that the old CRT types.

Ken

LOL - Ken truly is in love mode. big_smile (where's the heart emoticon).

My apologies to my friend Toney and everyone else for contributing to the degradation of this thread into a political discussion. I will endeavor to stay above this type of behavior and leave it to the politicians play in the gutter as they are so accustomed.

Sorry Toney, you cannot compare being a garden-variety republican supporter to being an extreme left wing political activist like Mr. Penn. If I boycotted all Hollywood liberals, I might as well just toss out my TV. Great actor, sure. Does he have the right to spew his BS at every opportunity the way he does, absolutely. But in doing so he must be aware that his politics may effect his gate. As I don't have his stage, the best way I can voice my opinion of him is with my wallet.

Years ago, when asked why he didn't endorse candidates or get involved in politics, Michael Jordan said something along the lines of "Republicans buy shoes too". Brilliant.

Also - I can and do think for myself - please note my original message was posted days before today's headline regarding Bill O'Reily.

Cam - I didn't see the game last night (too late for me), but I was surprised by the final score. Now I'm torn - I would like to see the ACC represented in the final 4, but I have a reeeeeal hard time pulling for the tarholes.

A moment of contemplation........I just can't do it - just looking at that baby blue color makes me ill - GO ZAGS

selso - thank's for including "with recording" in your thread title. I rarely visit the songwriting forum - largely due to my lack of imagination. I can't "hear" the song through written word, but I really appreciate the chordians who post recordings. The talent here is amazing.

I checked out your myspace page and was impressed with all of your recordings. The country / blues sound seems to come from within. I especially liked the song Caged, has a great bluesey tone.
