Blowin in the Wind, Magee's Farm by Dylan, Swing Low Sweet Caddalic by Matt Minglewood , Working Man by Rita
MacNiel, and The Dark Island a traditional bagpipe tune.
Hopefully that will be a while yet, still more kitchen jamming
to be done.

Do you need an apprentice to help you?? That would be a cool job with all those guitars. I'm sure you'll do great.

So true Frankster, My first attempt at blues songs didn't sound very good at all, kept going tho, and now they come along just fine. Like Ringo Starr say's" Gotta pay your dues,
if you want to play the blues, and you know it don't come easy".

You got that right Bonedaddy. More fun than a barrell full of
monkeys. Can't wait for the next one. I'm a sucker for punishment but just love to jam all night with good friends.

Hi Old Doll, We made it back. The nite was a great one and went till 6 am. Hal Bruce and Ticket To Ride were great. The last set he invited some of our gang on stage to play. My friend Don got up and did a few of his own blues tunes, the crowd loved it. After the bar was over we got our guitars out and jammed till 6 in the morning. The police were called and came to quiet us down and really not a problem. The Mersey house is a grand hotel built in the early 1800's, it even has a recording studio. The food was a real treat. We jammed in the library of the hotel and was a great atomsphere. I am real glad I have this monday off as I need some needed sleep. Now it's time to lay low till the next jam.hee hee.
Have a great day.... Badeye.

I will take my musical basket, Harmonicas. gazoos, bongos, shakers, and tambourine. the owners of the hotel said we could use the common room for our party jam afterwards.
we have lots of cold beer and party treats to keep us going.
Its gonna be a blast.

Well, I'm real similar in that I'm usually the nut playing.

Funny stuff Zurf, we act nutty too when we get in the kitchen for a jam, all in good fun.

I find if I know the song the pattern will come very easy. Of course I always have a radio on at work to oldies music and
it can be repeative which is good to get to know the tune. I usually play at the nut with fifths and sevenths depending on the song. Acoustic guitar is a blast.

For me it's older blues, sixties and seventies country, anything
classic rock, and lots of coal mining tunes.

Try Sly and the Family Stone or Wild Cherry for some good funk. Nothing like good funk to get you moving.

Best of luck, Cytania. Rip It Up.

Some years ago now, I had a 1970 Martin acoustic which sounded sweet. One nite at a party a drunken fool fell on
the guitar and broke the headstock clean off. I was'nt a
happy camper. I did get if fixed but never stayed in tune. That was the guitar I was learning on and got rid of it
and my playing was delayed by some twenty odd years.
Hope yours works out for you.
Take Care....Badeye.

I had that "light bulb" moment today. For two weeks I practiced going from open chords to barre chords in the E shape and the A shape. I grab my guitar every morning and today it seem to sound so right. Just proves what I've read on this site, Practice is key.
Badeye....
For hard rock I like "Phat Brittany".
