I was going to go buy one of these t shirts http://www.cafepress.com/chordie
not a bad price either, including delivery I could get it for £13.50 ( $26.99)
but thats the problem, buying in dollars, not just that but getting it from abroad. I havehad bad experiences with overseas mail never mind a package.
I dont know if it is the postage system in other countries or here in the UK, or suppliers I went to  ( that did ensure me they sent what I bought)

I could go and get my own made but it would be a silly transfer one that just is not good enough. I want a embroidered stitched chordie t shirt, but supplied in the UK, preferably just downthe road from me,lol.

anyone else bought any chordie mechandise?

dylan

I was going to tell you to go http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/chord_name.php
but i went there and placed those notes on the fretboard and got no answer for what that chord is.
I maybe talking kak here but maybe it is not a chord, even though I tihnk everything must be some sort of chord?
if you can remember and use it for your own use you could write it as D-2ndA, meaning missing out the A note on the second fret....LOL. yeah kack idea...

no idea

Craig,
I know how ye feel m8

I have tried to teach some friends. They gave up but said it wasnt my fault, they just think they should be able to play straight away.
If yer nephew knows it will take time and is still interested in it then he should manage.

I got my mates to learn G, C, D, A. no tunes, just tell them to strum these chords and learn to change.
Or I got one to play knocking on heavens door. G,D,Am  G, D, C.  let him do that for a week then tell him to report to you when he thinks he can do it easy. If he takes more than a week then  complain to him that is is not doing enough to learn.
Or a cambination of the two things there, chuck in an Em too.
get him on this site to look at songs, since it gives the chords and where to put your fingers. but he should not try to do too many.

good luck,

Ken

After a post old doll put on another thread, i thought I would put this in here.

( I copied and pasted this just before I hit submit when i was in the other thread)

Old Doll wrote:

My pet hates,
are some of the Irish Country/ Western singers here! Great gutteral Irish Accents { nothing wrong with that }But when they sing they use an American twang to there singing { Nothing wrong with American accents either} Why cant  they just sing with there own natural voices?

Old Doll.

Yer going to hate me sometimes then ,lol. I canny help it sometimes but I start singing with, not my voice. I have no idea why!!
My only guess is when I am doing a cover  start to imitate the singer I am copying?? I try not to but I think I keep doing it unintentionally.
So the only ones it is ok for me to imitate would be the proclaimers or Ian davison or the corries. All other scottish singers I know of dont sing with a scottish accent.

I think it is a bit like acting. Actors put on silly voices or accents to play a part so would it not be ok for a singer to do the same?

who in here sings with their own accent, or thinks they sing with a different voice?

lol,
no need for appologies, some of my close friends detest some of the music I like whether it be punk, folk, rock, heavy rock, heavy metal, country.

everyone has their own tastes

another style of music I dont care for much but I really appreciate the way it is done is Indian music, the kind ye hear in indian films and when yer sitting in an indian restaraunt. Although when ye sit in an indian restaraunt it just is not the same if you hear anythin other than indian music.

I use "guitar pro3", a 32 track recording system on the computer. the program is superb I think, you might need to upgrade your soundcard to make the best of it although I still use my inbuilt soundcard and it wrks fine for me.

Hi Trev,
You will have to put it on another website like guitarchords.com or ogla or ultimate etc.
Once it is on another website you can then copy the url from where the song is that you submitted.
Then come back into chordie, go to resources and click on the "add song to index" then paste in the url from where the song is.

Since chordie is actually searches other sites for songs it cannot put songs straight on to the site.
If you go to any song in chordie and click "original source" it ill take you to the website it came from.

hope that helps

Ken

hi rainman and welcome.

No question is stupid, especially from beginners, everyone was a beginer at one time.
there is a lot on chordie, especally on the forums and the resources, oh yeah and that other place that gives you hundreds of good songs.

If ye need any help with anything no matter how daft it sounds, just ask. I still ask questions, even to get other peoples opinions.

like the A chord but instead of holding the second fret o the B string you hold the 3rd fret on the B.
http://www.all-guitar-chords.com/chord_name.php

in this lik you can play about puting fingers in places and learn new names of chords, ones that you probably play but didnt know the names. The oter places on this site are quite good too.

very good reply.
I was sitting before reading your reply thinking...I dunno. but the common language thing i think will be a very big thing.
Also bands might want to make it big in the states because such a big place, same currency, and something to do with paying tax???? heaper in theU.S ? I dunno?? and touring, it would be easier to do a tour in one country that s massive than to do all the checking in at borders etc.

Some british bands could not get a name here in the UK so they moved to the states and done a few wee gigs here and there and then exploded and then the UK could not get enough of them. One band that I am talking about is def leopard. Probably a few more apart from them.

Beatles or Stones? Got to go with the beatles myself

I tihn kthe likes of buddy holly, eddie cochrane, big boppa, elvis etc were about before the beatles to give rock its first taste not the fab4.

Beatlemania was nothing more than hype, kids would have loved them jus because they had such a big name, they were everywhere, music on the radio and nice looking guys ( apart from ringo),
BUt
I love the bealtes and also the stones frm the 60's and 70's

So to choose between one just is not going to happen with me.

I like the doors.
I think Jim Morrison was a superb lyricist.

I dont think the band were the best thing on the earth at the time though, not superstars through their music in my eyes, more superstars because of Jim Morrisons antics on ad off stage.

it is sad for any musician to die early but they really have no one but themselves to blame (unless it was a car accident or plane crash). Same as any drug user or drinker just now, even if they are not famou. Everyone knows the risks, still lots carry on, just like Jim did.

I think he Might be talking about me, even though I do not hate him.
I tihnk because I told him to think before posting so he does not annoy people as much as he was doing now and again.
That does not mean I hate anyone.

Oh well, bye then paranormal.

IF this is so pointless like you say then there is no point in you staying here.
I think you should just calm down and chill.
I dont think you really mean the bad things you said, you are feeling hurt and sad and a bit lonely. You really want to stay and learn from others about music and so you should.

You are forgiven.

Zoke,
Think yourself lucky I am not a moderator for this section, I would hae deleted your post as I will do to any slander like that in anywhere I have the power to do so.
Roger, James, can you delete his post please. Very offensive.

I tihnk they dont need the money but Jager does.
He has that many children and lawsuits against him he has a fortune to pay out every month.
If h never continud to tour to make even more millions per band member he would probably only have a measly few million quid and would have to hide that money, declare himself bankrupt, then ............... start touring all over again to clear his name from bandruptcy ,lol

The WHo as well. Roger Daltrey came from a rich family. He even has a verysuccessfull busines ( if he still has it) in the fish farm industry YET he wants to do tours all the time for more money.
( acording to Pete Townshend)
Pete Townshend agreed last year or the year before to do a tour with Roger as long as all the money made in New york I think it was, maybe 3 concerts in USA was donated to a charity that Pete is an embassador for.

So, Roger is greedy for money where Pete knows he has enough and doesnt mind giving mony back out. Roger did agree to Pete's conditions without hesitation I hae to add, so he cannot be that bad. Not as greedy as the Mr. Jagger and Co. wanting £65 to see thm in the glasgow secc, and that was the cheap tickets. their arses are so far up their own heads now they have forgotten what "real" "normal" people can do with £65, especially in Glasgow.
They would not even perform in free concert for a things, they always seem to be too busy for them. I say it is cause nae money will line thier pockets.

But, I still love their music ( pre 1985)
