TIG ... I think you've had too much coffee! I laughed my butt off when I read your song list ... well done! lol

Thanks, Bill ...

I also enjoy concentrating on all of the intricacies and subtleties Edgar & Co worked into their music. What's cool is that most of TD's work can be used as ambient music, or it can be headphones-on, eyes-closed, full-attention absorption level material. And who would ever think of mixing three electronic keyboards with a Didgeridoo and a Cajon! Mr. Froese was a unique talent, and to quote the Crash Test Dummies:

Sometimes I despair the world will never see another man like him.

Wow ... they're amazing!

I was immediately captivated by the alto voice, when she came in at around 0:38 ... very rich. Beautiful melody and harmonies, and very well performed.

Great post, MKM!

Tangerine Dream    "Astropel & Stella"    Berlin, 2006

A beautiful ambient piece, with Linda Spa adding some color with the Didgeridoo. It seems that this is a North American name for this unique sounding instrument, which is generally believed to have been invented by Australia's indigenous peoples more than 1,000 years ago. Some of their more common names for it are the Yirdaki or the Mandapul. Each instrument is unique, and large collections of them show variations of size (which affects the pitch) and are often well decorated. Whatever it's called, it does blend well with the "rolling along" feel of this piece.

If JJJ keeps buying guitars, he's definitely going to knead more dough.

"The Flu" was the first one I listened to, and did indeed have a great laugh. Hilarious stuff!

Hi Bill ...

I found it online at this site ... here's the link:

http://peacetour.org/sites/default/file … ote-11.jpg

It's a 1200 x 1200 sized file, so I would think it should print at a fairly high resolution for poster purposes, as long as there are no copyright issues.

What a great idea, by the way!

Thanks so much for taking the time to update us, Bill. Our common love of music and musicians tends to erase the distance between us all, and we do indeed keep you in our thoughts and prayers. It just goes to show, that Mr. & Mrs. Musicator will not be kept down. I thought you both might enjoy this musical prescription:

I've got an Apex AT1 Chromatic Tuner, which has a 1/4" input <-> output, and will fit in your pocket. Sells for about $20 most places, and works very well. If you're considering locking tuners, I put Grover 106's on my Les Paul last year to combat tuning issues related to the tremolo I installed. They work fantastic, and took less than 1/2-hour to swap them.

I just happened across this, and immediately wondered if this was JoeyJoeyJoey's band. If it isn't he should be getting royalties from them for the ongoing promo activity. lol

Welcome to Chordie Dusky Dee! That's quite a tagline on your website:

"The female equivalent of Elvis, and the animal magnetism of Tina Turner."

We hope you'll pop by Chordie regularly to update us on your adventures. And may you find success in North America as you did in the UK.

Mercury was an amazing talent, and Queen was privileged to have a second vocalist who (IMHO) was almost as good. Roger Taylor's vocals in "Tenement Funster" are first class.

Great job, Kim! And I have to say emphatically, that I love your philosophy about music not just being for the elite, but something for everyone to enjoy. Well said!

Great group, BGD ... thanks for posting. "Best" is one of those very subjective words, and it's hard for anyone to separate "best" from "favorite". That said, Derek sure has some serious chops ... amazing skill.

The smooth, golden voice of Ray Price. This is truly classic country, and like every other style of music, most modern country has fallen prey to over-commercialization.

Thanks everyone! Yep Betty is a work in progress, more art work to come. Thinking some of the headlines from her trial.  the sound is really nice on the bridge and neck, the middle out of phase,,, well its not what I thought it was going to be.  Im thinking I may need to have it wired standard.

Amy depending on what Jim wants, between Russel and me, we can point him in the right direction  smile

Still want an explorer type bodied guitar to create Marylin!

Beamer ... you mentioned that you might have to re-wire the middle pickup for standard wiring. If was returned to the original wiring, and then just re-mounted it "end-for-end" in the pick guard, wouldn't that give you the same hum-cancelling effect? Just a thought ...

So sad to hear, Kevin. All of the personal stuff that gets lost is (as you say) the major hurt. Hope you manage to recover everything that matters.

Congrats, Beamer! Those are handsome, healthy, and happy children you've got there. I've got two boys (30 and 34 yrs old) and my lovely wife of 36 1/2 years ... makes me a very happy family man, as you obviously are as well.

Glad you joined us, Kim ... hope you'll join us for discussion regularly. I have the opposite problem with hand size, and have never been able to manage a uke, mandolin, fiddle, or anything like that. I tried a uke once, and even using the very point of my finger on one string, it pretty much muted the strings on either side. Glad some one can play them, 'cuz they have a uniquely warm voice.

Here's Peter Gabriel at his lyrical and vocal best. Based on a news story about rival gangs fighting for turf, Gabriel created a bunch of characters, interwove their stories, captured the politics underlying the whole thing, and enacted them all by singing with at least a dozen different voices in the song. Phil Collins is an absolute monster on the drums throughout. Next to "Supper's Ready", this would have to take honorable consideration for one of their top compositions. The story / lyrics are with this YouTube, and here is the news clip it was apparently all based on.

Those two certainly have been through the mill in the past year or so. My late grandfather used to tell me to always be thankful for good health, 'cuz without it nothing else matters. Bill's has brought a lot of joy to all of us at Chordie, and he'll be missed dearly until his return. Best wishes to both of them.
