Hmmmm, I just checked with IE 9 and all looks well on my Windows 7 machine, as well as with Google Chrome.  Denrango and Papatom, what operating system and web browser are you using?

You did it!  Good job!  smile  BEAUTIFUL Picture!  smile  All I could think about while taking the pictures of the hills was, "Man I bet this would look awesome in the fall".  Quite some beautiful country there for certain.

Congrats on getting the job Nela!  I'm glad to hear you'll be closer to your wife, and hopefully working for a more stable company.  smile  My husband is in construction too, but he is a Union Ironworker (bridge, structural, ornamental).  Up here, the pay is much better than in the south and Union Halls are full and working well for the workers (plus they pay him to teach apprentices).  We are always thinking about heading south, but so worried that he won't be able to find work at a reasonable wage.  Keep your chin up!  smile

Glad to hear your summer is going well Wayne!  Sounds like a nice relaxing time hanging with the loves of your life (Lizzie and Guitars of course).  You keep taking good care of yourself and don't work too hard!  smile

My brother recently made a few posts on facebook going on and on about everything he ate for dinner and how he was planning to blink 27 times, etc... as a mockery of all the bologna play by plays people give on there.  Sometimes I may get a little over zealous myself, but it's always REAL and sometimes I'm really an over zealous person (but it's only because the Queen comes to visit me every couple months and I MUST show her off to the world!  LOL!!!).

I hear ya girl, it's just plain wrong and THOSE people don't stay my friends long.  I just "de-friended" a girl I went to high school with (and haven't seen in over 15 years) because her facebook page was nothing more than a pity party and story of her sad sad life - going through boyfriends, never going to find a good man, etc... YAWN.  I'm sure you've heard enough already.  These people should go get a guitar and take up a new hobby!  smile

Yup, look at the saddle on there now to figure out if you need a compensated saddle or not (if it's striahgt then not, if where the B string sits is off centered then yes)... the Tusq is really easy to sand and if you search around here on Chordie there a few threads that explain what/how to do it... GuitarPix made a video here that should help:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjXMH7Uw8G4 .  You will also get a nicer sustain out of a new and improved saddle vs. the plastic.  As Naolslager said, measure the length and thickness, as you'll get a general idea of size and therefore which one to buy.  I bought my Tusq saddle and bridgepins right on ebay as I couldn't find the right size in stores near me and it was actually a little cheaper than buying local would have been (the local shops would only do the upgrade for me, not sell to me and the idiots at Guitar Center didn't quite know what a "saddle" was, apparently they are ALL electric players in there).  I was "scared" of bone because my saddle is compensated and I wasn't quite sure if I NEEDED a compensated saddle and if so how I would make one out of bone without screwing up.  That may not be the case, or  you may be a bit handier than I!  smile

All you strong coffee drinkers, good for you.  The only way to drink it.  I have never been to a restaurant that has good coffee.  They always make it weak.

Strongly agree!  Once in a while I'll ask if the coffee is fresh or old... if they say fresh I pass, if they hesitate I tell them I prefer the coffee if it's been on the burner a while because it makes for a slightly stronger cup!  Although, I do prefer it strong and flavorful to START with not just old and tough, but I'll take what I can get (hmmm... kind of like men LOL!) wink

Oops... looks like Toots figured it out before I posted yesterday!  LOL!  Toots is awesome!

I don't recall being nieve enough to be fooled.  My little brother didn't have x-ray glasses but he did purchase some sunglasses (he was about 8 years old) with mirror on the INSIDE of the glasses to see behind him while we were in Daytona for vacation.  My sister and I were disgusted that he was looking at the gals in string bikini's without making an effort to turn his head, I think my dad was jealous!  LOL!

Mine are folks with whom I've shared a campfire and some music.

I've said it before that it was Bo Crowder who gave me the excuse and desire to start playing, Dirty Ed who gave me the encouragement as I learned, and Gary Owens (a good friend who doesn't come on here) who gave me some early lessons and additional encouragement.

Without those three, I'd not be playing.  I owe each them a tremendous debt of gratitude.

And now I have to add Normtheguitar to the list of inspirations as he has made me rethink doing covers and has challenged me to improve.

Those are my favorite players.

I MUST agree with you Zurf!

It was my Dad that taught me to love the sound and sing along quality of guitar, and his lack of playing recently that caused me to want to continue on the campfire tradition of having a guitar around.

Russell Harding is amazing... what he can do with only some chords in front of him is AMAZING!

Each person I've personally met and heard play has caused me reason to think and want to listen more to each of their unique styles from that one guy that one day in the bar, to the group at the July Jam.  smile

Good question, and I look forward to hearing the answer.  Just an FYI... I did upgrade my saddle recently for a very cheap $15 I was able to grab a Tusq Saddle for my guitar.  I know you're not looking to upgrade, but for $15 it may be worth it!  smile

You are very welcome!  When I joined Chordie as a newbie I was very lost as well.  Although I probably said it somewhere in one of those posts, I started with "leaving on a jet plane" and "Tom Dooley".  Again, although it's probably in one of those threads...  the first few songs I learned are here:  http://www.chordie.com/songbook.php?sel … did=269030  --- but I don't think the songbook saved them as transposed to the easier chords that I used.  Have you found out how to use the transpose feature here on Chordie yet?

Let us know if you need any help.  We've all been a beginner at some point or another, and this is a site with many very helpful members that generally don't judge but just help.  WELCOME TO CHORDIE!!  smile  Good luck!

US, NY... STRONG COFFEE!  I have a Keurig so if I want a cup of coffee and don't feel like making an entire pot, there's always coffee ready in a matter of a minute (brewed... can't really stand the instant stuff).  Summer time... we'll drink plain ole cold tea (sun tea)... and I also enjoy some sweet lemon tea (or half tea half lemonaid).  In the wintertime I'll curl up with a cup of hot chamomile tea before bed.  My husband enjoys black tea on the cold winter evenings but it's just got too much caffeine in it for me at night!  smile

Fantastic Jamie!  I must say, if it weren't for guitar I would never have met some of the great people here at Chordie... Dad and I wouldn't have had some really great bonding moments... and well, I could go on.  Music certainly IS wonderful!  GREAT story and thank you for sharing!  smile

Well here it is, the song that's been stuck in my head for days on end.  I'll be playing this tonight!  The best part is I was able to meet little Lyla and comprehend WHY someone would write a song about her.  She's so darn stinkin cute!  Once you hear this guys, it will too be stuck in your heads.  There's nothing like a little "la da dum" to a lyric that just sticks with you.  GREAT job Jeff.  smile
