Gil - I believe these guys are busting your chops for your "drive-by" style of posting. It seems every few weeks you stop by, throw up a few vids and await for accolades. Rarely (if ever) do you contribute to other posts or even acknowledge those that comment on your vids.

I for one do appreciate your vids - you do Neil amazingly well. That said, the forum is a "virtual community" and it would be better if you contributed more than you have in the past. Just my 2 cents of course.

Happy Birthday Jeff.

Although it is rather late here I have just opened a beer to celebrate with you. So cheers and here's wishing you many, many more and good luck with the new job.

Thanks Rog - A virtual tip of the glass to my friend.

Thanks everyone! It's kind of scary quitting a job in this economy, but I have contacts from many years of experience and if you are good at what you do, there are companies willing to put you on even in hard times.

Johny Paycheck would love it!

Seeing it's your birthday,I think you should grab your guitar and a tall cool smooth one and chill out before the game.

Great advice Wayne - I've been playing a particular Johhny Paycheck tune all night.

TD, sounds like we worked for the same AH (back when I had a job) I could have the site (construction) running smooth and here he would come wanting to change everything. It would take me day's to everything straightened out. Anyway, good luck with the new job - and see if you can find something for me.

Nela

Nela - You know exactly wgere I am coming from. I am a PM on a large construction site - been fighting the beast on a daily basis for going on 2 years - now when were almost done, this AH wants to take over and tell me how to do my job? Don't think so - see ya.

Happy Birthday Topdown, and good for you on your decision, however, I do feel compelled to point out you turning 45 was the least requirement "officially" to be an old geezer. I've got a question for you now Top, since changing jobs, does this mean you'll be around more, as I remember, you once said you were gone during the week, still would love to meet sometime and again "Happy Birthday"

  Cam

Cam - My office will be in Raleigh, but likely will be traveling again once I get assigned a project. I'm still home every weekend. I've been thinking about hosting a get together on June, 13 to coincide with Zurfs NoVa jam. Maybe a start on a Chordie "Around The World" get together. How's that work for you? Anybody else interested (Pix)?

I gave myself the best birthday present today (yes, today I turned 45).

Long story short….my little bald headed nazi boss visits my project yesterday, gave the entire management crew a 4 hour lecture on how to run a project (that’s what we need at 97% completion). Talks to me and my co-workers like we are dogs.

So last night, I email an old boss inquiring about job opportunities. He called me this morning at 7:30. By 9:30 I made my decision, packed up my office and told little Hitler -  I QUIT!

The only thing to improve my day will be the Canes winning tonight!

Russ - You are one rockin' geezer! I enjoyed the listen, thanks!

As has been mentioned in this as well as many other threads, song publishers and lawyers are trying to shut down tab sites like Chordie. Per has done the prudent thing and removed those artist's from which he received specific complaints or notices.

I suggest you visit the site below which has an extensive Beatles library:

Here's another option

Fantastic post Doug - The MPA (publishers - not musicians) have been fighting tab sights for a few years now. They have big money lawyers and are threatening jail time for web site owners who host tabs. Per is a family man who created Chordie as a hobby - It is not a primary source of income. In his shoes, I would also immediately block songs that were specifically requested to be removed by the artist or publisher.

OK here's the chart as promised:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2185/3533871703_e37b035128.jpg

Pretty easy to read. Example: E shaped barre is an F with the barre on the first fret (duh). It's a G on the 3rd, A on the 5th, etc. The same pattern continues for all derivatives.

You should be able to print by clicking the chart itself or following the link to flickr where it is hosted. If not, shoot me an email and I will be happy to email a copy directly.

Cam - I've got a great chart showing most barre chords (maj, min, 7ths, etc for the whole fret board) in an easy to read format. I don't know where I got it from, but I'll scan it and email it to you when I get home this weekend. If possible, I'll post it here for everyone to print.

Good for you.  I always found it strange that hockey is in Football and Basketball country, but if this is typical of the support you give your team, then more power to them.

ozy - I don't want to mislead you - I was raised in the Catskills of upstate New York and played organized hockey since I was a wee child. But I have been a transplanted southerner for almost 30 years now. There are a lot of us yankees in the Raleigh area, but honestly even the native Southerners have embraced the Canes. We do tailgate like it's football - I was in the parking lot Friday at 2:00 for a 7:30 game. Tuna steaks have been the grilling choice this post season. Come visit - we'll show you a great time I assure you!

Yeap, I'll be on the edge of my seat and been waiting since 1972 for the bruins to win again.

Hey Topdown I bet it's a thrill to see a live playoff game. closest I got was an exhibition game years ago between Boston and Quebec Nordiques when they were in the league.

GO B's   Badeye..                cool

Absolutely a thrill Badeye - There is no sport more exciting that playoff hockey. I live about 2 hours from Raleigh, so I don't go to many regular season games, but my brother lives there and is a season ticket holder. He is able to add playoff tickets to his package at the end of the year and this year I committed for the full run. I am guaranteed a seat for $ 40 for as long as it lasts, including the Stanley Cup finals. In '06 those seats sold for over $1,000.

It's one of the advantages of being a small, southern market. I've met habs and leaf's fans who could never find a ticket in their home market and could fly to Raleigh, spend a weekend in a hotel, buy scalped Ebay or stub-hub tickets and get off cheaper than they could see their teams at home.

We do enjoy our hockey here - game 4 on Friday night was the loudest sporting event I have ever witnessed and was almost as loud as some concerts I have been to.

I was always a Bruins fan as a kid, so I will be pulling for them if they take out the Canes.

I was at game 6 last night and have come to the conclusion that the Bruins are a very good hockey team and earned the No.1 seed for a reason (I'm a genius I know wink ). They capitalize on every single mistake made by their opponents - and we made plenty. The B's are physical and fast with great goal tending - a pretty good combination. We played a solid game, Thomas stopped nearly every shot while Cam didn't and our defense allowed too many opportunities.  We beat the Devils on the road in a game 7 this year so it's not new territory, but my confidence level is not very high. As usual first goal will be huge. Hoping for a good close game tomorrow night.

Thuggery??? Hmmm...If those Canes weren't handing the Bruins ther a**** right now we might be offended by that term.....

No offense intended - just a comment as to the physical nature of the Bruins game vs the Canes speed game. I realize that it's part of the game (and at times the timidness shown by my guys really pisses me off).

The B's are schooling us tonight. Looks like I'll be staying home for game 6.

The B's looked scared and desperate Friday night - They may be thinking the series is over. Boston is 0-20 in the playoffs being down 3-1. Carolina is 2-0 after a 3-1 lead in the post season.

That said, the series is far from over. I fully expect Boston to come out on fire tonight fighting for their lives. The first goal will be huge. A win by the B's put the pressure right back on us and if that happens, it wouldn't surprise me to see this go 7 games.

However, I fully expect my Canes to keep the pressure on, score first, not react to the Bruins thuggery and end this series tonight. That way I can go to work tomorrow - if not, I feel a touch of the flu coming on that will keep me at home so I can go to game 6 Tuesday night.

LETS GO HURRICANES!!!
