Guitarpix wrote:So true Wayne... Looks like you just had a great trip yourself! Loved the pics, Thats some beautiful country!
I was sitting on the dunes last week eating lunch with a friend and we were talking about how lucky we really are to live were we do... In no time I can be on my choice of several islands and beaches ranging from partying in Myrtle Beach, the seclusion of Naggs Head or even running with the wild horse on the shores of Corolla... Beautiful rivers all around (The section of lumber river 5 minutes from me is ranked #1 in the state for largemouth bass fishing and the Cape Fear ,only 25 minutes away, is one of the best for big cats on the east coast) Or in just a 5 hr drive I can be cruising the Blueridge Parkway taking in some gorgeous mountain views.... So many things that get taken for granted in everyday life...
Will you be my dad? It sounds AWESOME there, way more exceptional than stinkin NY with our high taxes (although I do love our little lake).
Well wishes to Marion... and congrats on the NGD Buzz!!
BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing Wayne. It solidfies my dream of someday heading west for a LONG trip!
bensonp wrote:OK, the big moment has arrived. A little explanation first. Iwas happy with the video portion of my new webcam, but the audio sounded terrible. As a matter of fact, I quit playing for 2-3 days after listening to myself. My singing sounded terrible and my guitar sounded like an aluminum uke. I thought have I been sorely better in my mind than I really was? What a let down. So I bought an external mic and here you go. It'll be awhile til I get good enough to go on American "Old Fart" Idol, but hey.

Great job! Commented on your tube
OH, the song could be easier if it's transposed too... I know the songbook I have on there in the beginner section has at least one song with a few difficult chords in it, but I transpose the song to make it simple chords and therefore an easy song.
Same deal... had an account for a few years. Just make sure you go into your settings and set up your profile so that people can only contact you via youtube and you'll be fine.
I think it's great that you not only donate your time but also have now "donated" a guitar to the kids. It's probably best if you say it's "yours" so they will respect it more and not beat on it, but I get the gist... it's really for them. Good for you! Very kind!
Fantastic!
That webcam looks like it'll do the trick and then some. Good find!
Awesome to hear! There's nothing better than a Chordian get together... even if it's just a couple of ya's!
email sent... thank you so much for the offer riddler!
Very nice job! I'm happy to be able to listen to you all the way from Australia. The internet is awesome, great job Ray!!!
Pete, if you can buy a camera with a youtube button, I'll bet the camera does all the converting for you and it sounds like the simplest way to go about doing things. I wonder what you get when you spend the money on a youtube button camera vs/ some other random camera. I'd be concerned you're paying extra money for that little button and losing a lot of quality in the end (for other camera applications). Is there a link for this camera, or name?
Good for you NELA... I hope that you're able to be home a little more often now that you'll be a tad closer.
I think it looks good! I don't think I could strum over those raised letters though, no doubt I would catch the pick or my finger on them and then swear a little. Seems maybe it needs to match the color of some of the other darker wood on the guitar thought too to really look great. How does the pick gaurd feel when you play with it on there???
can't find much of anything on this band... but I did find their facebook page here:

I have no clue if that will help anyone or not, but maybe if you search through their page, or ask them for some chords to their songs... MAYBE ???
Thanks Ray! It's likely that your camera records the files in a very large file format. I've found that editing my files with windows movie maker and then saving them to "dvd quality" seems to work well for youtube. The smaller the file the better, plus larger files take FOREVER to upload. Your camera will probably record at the highest setting so that your videos will look great on a large screen TV, but you don't need that great of a quality for youtube. Similar to pictures, you can take them at 8mp but you only need 3mp for printing small copies or sharing online, you need the 8mp if you're going to blow the picture up to print a HUGE copy. So my friend, you'll need to edit those files to make them "uploadable" Let me know if you need any help!
Go figure, I could strum along all day long for strangers or family... it's the singing that I get nervous about, and I've been doing that my whole life including voice lessons as well as in front of judges.
I guess the first time for REAL (not just in the bedroom in front of the hubby or in front of a video camera or recorder) was at a local bar, open mic. I made my Dad come along and he played and encouraged me. It actually went pretty well, although Dad's a pretty tough act to follow as I believe he's a born performer and had been strumming and singing in front of people for a LONG time!
As the guys at the July Jam can attest, I STILL get nervous and have a hard time opening up my voice for a couple songs in front of people. I have no good excuse or reason for it, but it's there.
Best wishes to you ALL! I must admit, I've only been at this for two years but I have two guitars... I already feel like I want a new one and while I decided I didn't want a little Martin (because they're made at the factory in Mexico and I saw first hand the LOVE that goes into the guitars made in PA, USA), I'm jealous. It's a good thing I don't have money, or GAS would greatly affect me as well. For now... I shall just keep playing so that hopefully when the day comes that I can afford a nice Martin, I'll be able to strum more than just a G too!
Thanks for the compliments guys! Glad you enjoyed, and thrilled for Dino to be able to finally get to listen a bit. Topdown, were you able to download the other clips from skydrive (links posted previously in this thread)? There's a couple more of me singing, although I have to admit, I was more interested in recording others so there's not much of myself.
It's been downright HOT. We hit 101 last week, and I'm in NY ... we're not "supposed" to get to 101. The last few days have been a bit cooler and more seasonal, in the high 80's. We had a very short storm yesterday with a bit of hail. It was the first time my six year old saw hail and she was so excited, running toward the window screaming excitedly "It's raining ICE! it's raining ICE!". ha ha! Thankfully, it was short lived and non-damaging. The mosquitos could carry a person away this year, I wish they'd go extinct.
