The chords are generally printed in blue while the words are printed in black.  Usually, it has to do with your ink levels or printer settings.  Try changing the settings to print everything in black and white and see if that helps!

NEAT-O!  That sounds like something I could do... I'm always stomping my foot when I get into a song, usually my kids ask me why (and I sometimes look at THEM like they're crazy).  LOL!  I did a youtube search just for stomp box and up came a ton of cigar box styles and others.  I don't think I'll be making one right way, but eventually this would be handy for me to play around with at home.  That Seasick Steve is pretty darn awesome too!

I haven't had too many guitars to be able to say there's a bond in the way you're talking... but, my dread is just the right size that when I'm playing something that gives me sad feelings, I can lay my chin down on it while I continue to strum... kind of like laying a head on a shoulder... so in a way, yes we do have a bit of a bond.  smile

Click on the resources tab at the top of the page, read the "Frequently Asked Questions"... then if you want to have the song indexed, go back to the Resources and click on "Add songs to the index"

Sounds good!  With this fancy new recording stuff, your voice is sounding really great too!!!!

PETE!  Other than growing facial hair and getting a bit taller, you haven't changed a bit!
Jeff, that's a great pic of your family!

There is a thread somewhere with this same vibe, but there's a lot of new people since then!  wink  I am first and foremost a mom to my kids, been fighting regular employment for the past 15 years in an attempt to stay home with them.  Although, in the end it still doesn't matter because working is FOR them.  They are number one!  I wanted MY kids mom, but that was taken on some other forum I was on, so I am ME kids mom all over the place.

THANKS PER!

For future reference, when the site is down, the forum is generally still up... just type www.chordie.com/forum in your browser and you should still be able to get here!  smile

Very good Jeff!  I agree, it's time "we" stop giving abroad and start focusing a little more on home.  Much like the man who works his butt off to make more money, yet never has time for his family.

sad  yup, seems it's down at the moment.  I'm sure as Topdown said admin has been notified, that he is diligently working on getting it all back up and running as soon as possible.

I have a DR 150 -- From the reviews I've read, it's a needle in a haystack pick.  At the store, it was the ONE guitar out of tune and set in an area that didn't lend itself to good sales.  Apparently most people have had major problems with them and they generally sound bad.  Two of my tuners started coming loose a bit, and I fixed em up with some wood glue and toothpicks.  For under $200, I like it (although sometimes wish I had a smaller guitar).  It's all laminate... hence the black, but don't always count on that.  The Little Martin looks like beautiful wood, but it's just a picture glued onto the front of high pressure laminate.  Someday I'll go for a higher end guitar when I have the money, but in my opinion I'm going to have to go closer to the 1K mark to get a sound and play I really want.  Absolutely try them out and buy with your heart, fingers, and ears not just your wallet and reviews.

Piano.  I've always had a really strong love for them and to this day I find it very VERY difficult to resist the temptation of opening up the Key cover and plunking away every time I see one, no matter WHERE it is.  I do however, because all I can do is plunk out a basic melody.  When I was about 4 my grandma taught me how to play a couple kids songs (twinkle twinkle) on her Organ, and before she passed away she gave me that organ.  I tried to learn how to play it but still never really got much further than plunking and so I retired the thought of ever learning more on the piano.  The Organ has since also passed away.  Grandma could read music a little, but she mostly played by listening and man could she play some good OLD songs!

Pix, that's for fixing that... I don't know what I was thinking.  I'll blame it on not having enough coffee yet to catch the url vs. img tags.  UGH!

Russell, there's a tutorial for that!  smile  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=14150

Use your right hand to handle that clicker Butch and relax.  Perhaps a visit to the movie store is in order... and the book store.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Jim, that photo won't work.  I looked, and it appears to be only available on the secure site (there's an S at the end of the http).  Make sure the photo is available for everyone to see in your photo album (public) and then try getting the link again from your photo album instead of just getting the link from your page.  Let me know if you need help, or email the pic and I can put it on my picasa album for you and link to it.  smile  just click my email if you need me!

I'll have to set up a photo session with my photographer (my 6 year old) and get a new picture for this thread.  LOL!

Very cool!  What brand WAS the guitar before he did this?  I wonder if the pictures were sent into the original manufacturer if they'd like to purchase it back for a museum piece or something.  Very excellent job!!

Well, let's try to hope for the best.  They have to give you a worst case and best case scenario don't they?   Is there any possibility of enough range of motion to play?  I'm happy to hear how positive you are about being capable of switching to left handed playing Butch.  It's not a great way to get a new guitar though.  wink  Take care and best wishes on Thursday!!!!

Pix... I remember that was a REALLY good post, and I looked and can't find it either.  When you do find it, I think maybe it should be copied into a new topic and made as a sticky for reference.  There was really good info in there!

GBD - that's not a bad idea!  Some professional advice couldn't hurt (except for maybe your wallet).  Update the thread here when you come back.  I'm curious to know what the pro has to say.  I have Daddario bronze/phospher strings on my guitar right now and am not overly impressed.  They had a nice tone to them (though different) when I first put them on, but it's been only a week or two and already they are sounding old.  I like elixer nanowebs for their staying power.

That's possible.  If you desire, you can check on that thread and shoot an email to the admin with the details on your tablet just to make sure he's aware that it's not just an ipod thing going on. smile

Ohhhhh, GBD (Great Big Dave) there's LOTS of threads floating around about string suggestions and really everyone has a difference of opinion.  This section (acoustic) is a good place to look though.  Personally, I wouldn't think that there'd be anything wrong with being a guy with Popeye arms (as long as you figure out how to work out your right arm and aren't unbalanced).  wink

Amy you are appericiated very much here,so it makes you a star, and now you can go try out for American Idol.

As it turns out... I'm too OLD for American Idol!  Can you believe it?  I guess I'm officially an "old lady" now... wow!

I completely appreciate the appreciation... and I guess if I must, I will hereby accept my star status.  Now, if I could just figure out how to hack the system so that I can put that under my name/profile along with Moderator... JUST KIDDING!

Applause is good... Money makes it even better!  I played ONCE in the park with a guitar case open on the ground and I made a dollar and some change.  You'd have thought I won the lottery with my excitement!  LOL!
