1964 and was Hockey Night In Canada, there was only one channel we could get [CBC} with

I'm going to claim ignorance on this question; does Ireland, Scotland, Canada have Presidents?  I never really thought of it.  If so, what are their term lengths?  Are the political parties right or left wing?

Just curious smile

Actually in this case Brad you had written http; instead of http: preventing the link from working. I corrected it so it would work and it automatically turned blue.

If the link is correct it will be blue so if it is not you need to carefully check what you have written.

Thanks Doll, Somehow I knew there would be a history lesson in this from you. Very cool story about old Jack! Here in the US, it's primarily a day when kids dress in costumes and go door to door to get candy. How is it celebrated in other parts of the world?

Hi Topdown, Holloween here in Eastern Canada is the same as you, as the kids dress up an go door to door for treats. This year friday nite [ at least for us]  it's the kids turn. As for the adults, we have rented a small community hall and will have a costume jam for saturday nite.
It's B Y O B  and guitar and lots of fun. I'm going to get an eye patch and go as, you guessed it,  Badeye the pirate.

Great job Roger. A haunting song and appropriate slideshow. I've been working in a coal mine area of west virginia (though not in the mines!). I see many miners around after quitting time (usually at the beer store), faces black with coal dust. Amazing the job these guys do - deep underground - something I wouldn't or couldn't do that's for sure! Great vid!

Hi there Topdown, a tough job for sure, my dad worked the coal mines of Cape Breton for 42
years ans somehow loved it. I went in the mine at age 20 but only lasted 5 months. The thought of going five miles out under the ocean was haunting for sure. When coal was king on Cape Breton it employed over 15,000 men and times were good. Now there is no coal production and times are tough on people who used coal as their livelyhood. Now it's call centers with sub par paying jobs. The economy is grim here but people are proud of their past.
Of course coal is a big polluter to the enviroment and will soon be phased out.I tell you coal kept us warm and fed good as most in our town. I take my hat off to the coal miner.

Ah me olud Segosha,

Thats just lovely. I cannot understand how anyone with an animal would want to stray or hurt it in any way.

Gosh my own 2 dogs nearly came through the sitting room window this evening when they seen my car coming up the driveway.

You know Badeye whats the betting they { My dogs } were all curled up on my Sofa  while i was away lol which there banned from. But sure with a welcome like that how could i give out to them.
I can always  replace a sofa..

Nice song Sir.

Old Doll.

Thank Roger and Lena. No room in the world for cruelty to animals. We rescued a Boxer that
spent all it's time in a backyard on a chain and was treated with cruelty. After a bit of time and
trust she is a big ham who loves going in my truck and is a very gentil dog. She follows Gem everywhere she goes and is wery well behaved. The song "Teddy's Angel" can be considered
as a true story as Teddy has a good home now. I think all dogs need a chance eh.

Have a great day.. Tea's on ,, Badeye  cool

Welcome Micky to Chordie, Hang in there, I too just started 2  years ago at 47. It gets better with time. Learning scales have really helped me play better. Lots of resources here to learn.

A fellow Chordian [Southpaw 41] gave me this link,      Guitar Scales @ Chord Book.com          and is very helpful.

Drivers with LOUD thump bump rap stuff that passes for music who pull up right next to ya!!  Maybe the best way to combat that is get a loud setup but put the speakers on the outside and play bagpipe music!!  That would irritate the SNOT out of those people, I hope!!

I hear you Bommer, every week nite at 10;15 pm a car goes by my house and you can hear the Taka-Boom Taka-Boom for at leats five minutes. I know the driver is gonna need a hearing aid if he keeps this loud racket up. I really don't know how anyone can enjoy that loud noise. I agree that "Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" but  that is just loud noise. Anyway enough ranting. Have a great day.

I don't know if this counts but we have a little foursome called, Crash Helmut Jug Band and we get together and play at Kitchen parties. We never rehearse at all just get some people in the kitchen and have a fun time. Spirits flow, great food to eat, and the music is great. Sometimes we will work out a song and add it to our nite. On any given nite we will play instruments like,
harmonica's, gazoo's, bongos,shakers,eggs,tamborines,acoustic bass,acoustic guitars,fiddle,
and tin flute. To us it's just pure fun and I always look forward to the next jam.
