I've been having an annoying fret buzz on my Breedlove. I couldn't see where it was, but the guy at the shop did right away. I like that shop. They're going to do a neck adjustment, dress the frets, fix a loose wire in the electronics that rattles around a bit, and I'm sure will do a general set up and tune up. The guy who runs repairs was saying, "OK, a fret dressing is $75 to $150, set up is usually $30 to $60, electronics repair is usually around $30 and lets put some new strings on. Let's see, that adds up to $75."

I LIKE HIS MATH SKILLS
I have a shop I like to use that I found 3 yrs ago. the luthier and one other guy are great. THe owner is a nice enough guy but he will always pick up what you ask him about and show you how good he can play. He has a different personality. I always feel like I want to tell him "if you want to sell, get the instrument in the buyers hands, and make him feel like he cant live with out the particular instrument" instead of making him feel like he sucks. (or better yet, stay off the sales floor and get someone with a personality out there! LOLOL)
But I like to suport the little guy and as I said, his other guys are very cool.
Would be nice if they had your guys math skills thoughLOLOLOL

Scott, since you and I are both on "Texas time" we'll talk central for now. I'm going to see if Jeff is online at 4:00 pm, maybe a smidge earlier if I can swing it. Hopefully he and the others will be well lubricated and warmed up by then. I suggest you check in periodically starting at 2:00 pm.
Jeff will obviously have final say on when it goes down since he is hosting.
Well I dont know how lubed up ill be at 2 But I cant get where Idd perfre to be due to having a party to attend later that evening. I dont know what time the wife is planning on going over. I may tell her to take the car and I'll show up after our Jam on my bike. (Im the DD tonight so I cant enjoy the party favors, so why be there long enough to be tempted?) Ill be able to leave my bike and drive her home.
I am going to be exercising my freting hand with the old stress ball tonight. I cut one in half to use as a finger toner
Ill start checking skype about 230, I always have to make sure my Mic and mixer are set up right. I also wanted to expierment with running my acoustic from the soundhole pickup into the mixer with the mic. If we are both on b4 jeff, maybe we can connect and I can get my levels right with you telling me how it sounds. OH do you have me in your skype contacts? ---Wouldnt it be nice if a Vocal processor helped a guy like me who cant carry a tune no matter how hard I try! I wonder how I would sound on AUTO TUNE ! LOLOLOL (Ozzy been using it half his career! LOLOLOL) but im guessing bad is bad no matter what LOLOLOL thats why I really like this grupe of people, everyone is polite enough to listen and know your doing your best.

Turned 55 this past November, and have been playing guitar for about 45 years. Before the children were grown, there were long spells where the case never opened. Now that they're grown up and no longer home on the payroll, there's lots of time to enjoy.
I have a few years for this,,,, quite a few, Maybe thats when my light will shine brightest
Oh just turned 42,, not sure how Old I was during first post LOLOL

My wife hurt her neck a few years ago, requiring surgery...three years after the injury and me continually telling her to get it treated. the surgery worked...kinda. When I went off on work comp due to my back she acted like I had committed a mortal sin and no matter how much pain I was in she was always in more pain. She is kinda like that.
We (I) film my high-school daughter when she plays her volleyball matches. We post the vids on You Tube, after hours of editing (which I do), so that we can show college scouts when my daughter e-mails them. I now work (not as a firefighter anymore-forced to retire) in the family business which is located in LA. The drive is horrendous so I stay at my brothers during the week. When I get home on the weekends we usually have a tournament to attend and film then I must edit and post the vid. Despite my knowing nothing of video editing prior to our endeavor, and having to teach myself how to do it-plus filming, my wife refuses to learn how to edit, or even film. She does this often with the reasoning that "...You..." Me that is "...know how to do it..." My reply of: 'How do you think I learned?" falls upon deaf ears.
Lastly, and this is a mortal sin in my book, she hates the guitar.
Don't know why I still love her ( I too would take a bullet for her) but after 23 years I still do.
Well my wife doesnt hate my guitars, she just doesnt care about them and she is not as "into" music in general as I am. Or motorcycles,,although her whole family is bikers,,,,, so I guess oppisites attract,,, but the truth is "she just liked the way I looked in my Dress Whites when she met me."

This is one of the new tween bands but they are really pretty good,, Our Canadian friends may know them better. The band name is catchy also Done with Dolls. Feel good music. girls ages two at 14 and two at 13 and two are sisters. Reminds me of a new Josie and the pussiecats
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1qRKZD … 1362782117
they do some pretty tight covers also. A very cool cover of Bangels and Paul Simon.

sound is not real great but its a good live vid by a fan.

First time to try to correct. No nothing. Just spotted a misspelling in Wish you were here by Pink Floyd. simming instead of swimming. i go to correct it but don't know what to click on after that. Sorry for so basic but never used this before and on short timelime.
If you need this for a gig or something, quikest fix is to copy/ paste to a word doc. and then retype word. Or Hey old school it and print, then white out tape and hand write, or line it out and write correct word overtop...(remember proper line out technique one nice line through middle and nice print above) THAT'S "REAL OLD SCHOOL"

Re: gets on my nerves (22 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
in my initial post I said partner as opposed to wife! meaning women have pet hates about their men too.
here's another one; we went out for a drink with friends last night and after a sherbet or two she tends to tell a story, then gets half way through a name or descriptive word then changes the subject. it's weird for our friends as i know what she's on about, but they cant have a clue.
LOLOLOL THAT IS WHAT I DO TO UPSET MY WIFE lololoLOLOL. I also tend to talk a lot and get too descriptive about what was said. she always give me "the look" or kicks my foot. A lot of times its only her that is anoyed as she has usually heard all my stories and just wants me to shut up.
Sometimes we both wonder how we ende up staying together, but I guess its that way with all people who have made it to 20 yrs and beyond.
On the side note. I was out with two really good friends and we were in a place like TGI Fridays, all three of us talking and all 3 of us went off on tangendts and then we all circled back to the original topic. It was awesome, we realized it at the same time, looked at each other and then burst out laughing at our untold joke. More beers were ordered, more tangents started

Re: Guitar lead (12 replies, posted in Electric)
What mostly happens is all new guitars are shipped with the cheap black leads. The stores take them out. One store in town used to have a cardboard box full of them and sold them for a buck each. I would buy one or two at a time as patch chords , sparees and what not. Last time I went in someone had bought the whole box full. He probably spent 20 bucks or so. Since they have not had a big reorder to line the walls, there have not been any since.

Some of mine mirror, but ill start on the one that is probably what no one else wants to say,
"We need to save more money, if you would just pay ahead on the bills then we wont be so behind?"
Me : {explitive and deep sigh}" umm we seem to be here cause you maxed out all the cards" If you quit spending we might be saving. Lets not forget having to support a parent who took no actions to support himself.
or
Lets get the bathroom redone instead of paying taxes with that money, we can just pay it out of each weeks paycheck,,,, UM NO.
Then there is one similar to Phill's, Being asked to do something, then being told step by step how to do it,,, I just looik at her and offer up the drill, saw,or leaf blower and ask her as calm as I can to please wait till Im done to have anything to say.
trying to "streighten" my work bench out cause its "too Messy"
Expressing her dislike of my driving style on every trip for the first 45 min.
There are a few others but Ill hold that off for a adult cocktail night on skype LOLOLOLOL
As we all know its not always bad, we are all venting our pet peaves.

As has been note many times around here, Used it Used no mattter how nice. Its like a car. once you sign the line and drive off, its now used. and you will not get your money back ( except for the first 4 days by law), but one week later,, good luck getting retail for it. So she bought it, then didnt like it. I bet if you call a shop and ask how much the trade in is,, its probably 150 or 175. Im not saying to low ball her and be a bad guy, but I definatly would not pay retail.
