Prayers to you and your family for your loss.
Welcome back Pix.
Badeye..
Happy Thanksgiving to all. In Canada we have our thanksgiving day on October 25th. Great to spend the day with family and be happy with what we have. No need for greed or material things, happy to be alive.
Have a great day,... Badeye

how long does it take for the "death grip" to go away? i am learning from someone who has played 41 years and i think forgets what is like for beginners.
somedays i feel good about but others i am ready to give up. i don't know if i will ever master anything on the guitar.. can you tell this is a "give up day"?
thanks for the advice and listening!
Hi Wannaplay, don't give up, when I had those days I played my acoustic on my lap and learned all the chords that I've been learning the conventual way, it may not be for all but it sure is fun. Hope you find a guitar that fits. Since learning to play scales thru Chordie my guitar playing has really improved and is a great joy to be able to play. Hang in there, things change.

What Zurf said "It's not wrong to play it your way" sums it up real good.

I tend to play along with a CD (Original artists) Some of the sheets from Chordie dont seem to be in the same key as the original.
My ear is not great and I have tried moving a capo up the neck but it still sounds off. Is there any trick I can use to find out what the key is to the original song. Once this is known working out the rest would be easy.
Ian
Hi Ianth, try the transpose feature to the right of the song, to change key. Welcome to Chordie.

Awesome as awesome gets badeye! I was fortunate enough to see SRV live, twice.(Roanoke, Va 1983 & Washington, DC 1989) Seeing and hearing him literally made me change the way I approached music. It was a VERY humbling yet motivating experience. Never had the honor of seeing Mr. Healy live but I listened to him a ton. I love his version of 'While My Guitar Gently Weaps'. And I dug him in 'Roadhouse' too!
Peace and Guitars,

Ahh,SouthPaw two greats for sure. Still miffed at myself for not going to see Steve Ray Vaughn
when he came close to us , but did get a chance to see Jeff Healy live in a bar a few yaers back and was truly amazing. Here he is with a local blues legend from our town, Matt Minglewood at Mingle Fest in Cape Breton.

What are your favorite guitar wars or battles. Like in the DVD "The Last Waltz" by The Band when Eric Clapton and Robbie Robertson go at it. Totally awesome.
Any More.... Badeye
Hi Old Doll, your lyrics would be nice done like Chris DeBurgh's "Spanish Train" with the same or close chord structure. I tried it a couple times and sounds real cool. I like your words.
Badeye..
PS: Russels idea is pretty cool too.
Cool site, Thanks
Badeye
I would vote YES on that. It would be a great rememberance of those who fought for freedom.

amazing, Thanks for that Kap54. The love of music is a great thing.

A dog walks into a bar with a six shooter on his left hip and a sling on his right arm. The bartender say's "Sorry we don't serve dogs in here. The dog say's 'I'm looking for the guy that shot my paw".
any more clean dog jokes.. Badeye
A dog is truly a man's best friend.
If you don't believe it, just try this experiment.
Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car for an hour.
When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you ?.
Dog lover.
Old Doll.
Hi Old Doll, My Gem works at a boarding and grooming dog kennel, and just the other day a husband came by to pick his dog up and asked if the next time he could keep the dog and kennel the wife. They all had a good laugh.
segosha... badeye
