TF Thanks

The song is The Weight by the band one that I have in my songbook  smile
I just tried it - the verses would fit that that chord progression - but not the chorus, at least I couldn't figure it out that way.

Thanks for the comment , I like this song a lot.

Phill

I changed the B chord to a Cadd9 chord - gives it a smoother and even harmonic sound.

It's also a lot easier for me to play   smile

Zappa was an excellent musician and performer. I have every one of his albums.
Some really funny stuff in his stories / songs. ( some sick sh** too ! smile   )
I love Zappa - listened to him a lot in my younger days.

I don't get it.

What possesses these people to spend their time writing this spam junk ?

No one reads them - they are just freaking annoying.

Does anyone really know why they do it?  Do they try to access your computer  through them ?  I have no clue ?
I looked at Chordie forum today and there was a bunch of them. Thank you to the mods that trash them !

Song 1  great keyboard playing - I like the bluesy rendition the lyrics are quite meaningful ! very well done Peatle.
Song 2   -(My favorite) I already had left comment on soundcloud... but this is a great little rocking song.  I think instead of A pirate at 40, it could be a guitar player at 60  smile
I love the little phone interjection at " That's it Man!"  ( I can so relate to this one - I can't tell you how many times I have had to havemy daughters or my students show me how to do something on my phone )
Song 3  interesting story.  Your voice is perfect for this kind of story telling !!

Peatle- Thanks for sharing - you have a great perspective on life !!  Keep 'em  coming man

Pestle

That was a subtlety hysterical clip
Great sense of humor
Love the quote hidden in there......

"Dirty fingers will get you sh** in your mouth"

Truer words never spoken!

That quote applies far past sheep herding / dog
whistling

Thanks for sharing
Methinks I would love to visit Wales and New Zealand someday

I listened to it as well -  ditto what easybeat said !!

Fantastic!

Thank you for the kind words.
Once in a while something fits well.  I guess that's why we keep writing - doesn't always work that way smile

Thanks again

That was impressive.  The kid is excellent.

It is inspirational and intimidating at the same time.
It would take me a 1,000 years to get that good.

Thanks for sharing.

I have an affinity for dogs as well.  My first dog was a purebred German Shepard. She was great with me from when I was 8 til 20 when she passed away - had 4 batches of puppies.

Then I had two dogs a lab retriever and her daughter out of her only litter which was a golden retriever (sure was a purebred my buddy had
The were with me 13 years - they were like children and siblings to my kids.   When the mom died I was devastated.

Now I'm have a little shihtsu that is my little buddy.

Thanks for posting

I didn't see a song version - did you ever record it?

It was also interesting to me because there were so many names in this thread that I did not recognize, but could tell they were true chordie people in the forum. I wonder why the stopped ?

Thanks Peatle

The way I wrote it, I purposely left it so that any guy could plug in their own ( two syllable)  city  and their own lady's eye color

for you, possibly.....

[G] I met a girl in Christchurch  , [G]she had the greenest  eyes

I don't even know why I choose Nashville - I've never even been there - but it is on my bucket list for next summer.  smile

Thanks for the feedback.

It seems odd that in the initial post it was one user and the second post was another , yet asking to resolve the same issue.

I would encourage you to become a regular contributor to the forum. We love to have new perspectives and ideas.

I agree with TF - that's a monumental quote ya got there mate...

"I think I express myself through poetry and compose song  because its a bit of my internal theatre that hopefully will live on longer than me."  - Peatle Jville, 2017

I write as a release from my busy other life -  if you told a hundred of my friends that I write poetry or songs they'd all laugh at you and say "get the f*** out " - !
It's a pretty guarded secret - hence the TIGLJK  smile

For me  it's usually something that has floated into my mind  through a real life incident. Sometimes it's just a few words that pop in my head and I think it has potential  to  reach stir some emotions - I'll give it a go.  and like Phill, I write songs sometimes for the love of my life, except I rarely share them with her.

In fact last night a little line popped in my head and wrote a verse.  Got up early today and finished it- or at least got it close.   I'm posting it songwriting as soon as I'm done typing this smile

Great thread - I am sure there is going to be some superb perspectives on this one!

Well done, Peatle !!

Thanks so much....

A little over a year ago I wrote the song " Tears in Our Eyes "

Today I was reading the news and this article about a young couple with three children  from Wellington caught my attention. As I was reading the article, my mind immediately drifted to the words of that song.

this is the link to the article: http://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/what … spartandhp

Unfortunately, it is exactly the kind of thing I was thinking as I wrote the song .  I feel so terrible for the lady......
just a reminder to never go to bed with "Tears in our Eyes"

Phill did, at least what I think was,  a wonderful performance of it. Here is the link to it on soundcloud in case you have never heard his version
