Hi Daddy, smile
I wrote this in a darker time when I needed a friend to help me carry on. For me this is a very personal song.
Thanks for the read and comments.

Good to hear from you Dino smile
It does play nice, I just hope I can pull it off when I put it on video.

Thank You for the comments.

Hi Geo smile
I have put in an order for the ZoomQ3 video recorder. I can't wrap my head around figuring out recording so I am going to give straight up video a shot..it should be easier to do but scarier. If you know what I mean. lol I hope to have something posted as it is my New Years Resolution that I will hold myself to.

Cheers and Thanks for your kind words along the way. smile

Definitely a good game to watch, fast paced with not too much durty stuff. I was surprised by the amount of Canadian fans that were in attendance...Buffalo is a hockey town, I would have thought they would have us out numbered but it was the other way around. I was hoping for a repeat of last years USA vs Canada gold metal game. sad

Oh Well, One more to go....Bring on the Ruskies. smile

Go-o-o-o-o-o-o-o Canucks smile

Kenny

7 AM EST it's USA vs the Canucks.
These lads are trying to make it to the pros and play like it's there last game. It should be a great game if anyone is interested check it out. smile Being a Canadian....I have a bad feeling about tonights  game

Swedes 5 Canada 5 going into OT.

Great Game smile

Dang it...6-5 Sweden in a shoot out....Great game by Sweden, they deserved the win.
See ya in the Semi's...then the finals

Staying at home and watching a heck of a World Junior hockey game between Canada and Sweden...and having a beer...or four...or five..or six.
Happy New Year to all and remember (hopefully) not to drink and drive.

Ken

P.S. Canada scored with .5 seconds left in period #1 to go ahead 3-2. Great game, lots of clean hitting and back and forth action.  smile

"Tender your heart, warm is your soul,
You want a lover to have and to hold,"

Awesome Daddy,
I have one son that has seen a few heartbreaks and as a parent I know the sting of the hurt feelings. Why things happen doesn't matter as long as you are to help them stand again.

Well Done  smile

I hear ya smile

I used to install commercial/industrial overhead doors but I'm not as young as I used to was so now I just sell them. We used to install 24' high overhead doors off of ladders but now if your over 14' you have to have a scissor lift. Go figure...I wished they changed the law before my body said enough is enough. lol

Hi Sore Fingers, welcome to Chordie smile

Lots of great advice above. Recently what I have been doing is when I drive (and it's a lot) I don't turn on the radio or listen to any CDs. I find that it makes me a little hungrier to make my own music and also I find myself less critical cause I try to compare my playing with what I've heard. I suck as a player but now I'm learning to be happier about it thus I'm guessing I won't loose the passion as easy.
All I can add is that I have been playing for a long time and when I loose the passion to play I kick myself for the lost time. Doing this has given me all kinds of bad guitar habits that are hard to break.

Stick with it and don't put any pressure on yourself to improve...have fun with it and it will come. smile

Kenny.
P.S. Sorry about your sore fingers. Don't forget if you loose the passion and start again so does the sore fingers. sad

Very Cool Big Jim,

You sound rightfully very proud. smile

I hear a real good song coming out of this for the two of you around the campfire. It should be a keeper.

Hey there Phill,

Great story line smile This reads like it's a fast paced C/W southern style rocker.
A recording coming up for this one hopefully, it sounds like it would be a fun one.

Cheers

Glad you liked it smile

Cheers and Thanks  Kenny

Howdy Phill.
My Christmas gift (Zoom Q3) from me to me is ordered and will be here soon. I'm not sure if I will be posting anything at Myspace as I seem to have a lot of problems with pages loading and so on sad  But I will be posting them on Youtube as soon as I can get some kind of nerve up...That would be a New Years Resolution that I am going to hold myself to....I hope lol

Thanks for the read and comments mate.

I wrote this, this morning as I remembered a while back I heard of a fellow that named his dog "D-O-G" Sound out each letter to pronounce the name. This is a fictitious story although I'm guessing there are those that can relate to it. smile
In the style of John Prine with lots of walkdowns.

D-O-G © Ken Peters Dec 27/10

[C]D-O-G is my dog and she's my very best friend.

No one [G7]can contend.

I'll love her [C]till the end.

[C]Arthritic bones and kidney stones, she's a sweet old lass.

Man she [G7]eats a lot of grass.

Cause she [C]got bad gas.

[F]When I go to bed at night,

She's [C]by my feet, it's no delight.

[C]Her tossing and her turning and her [G7]most ungodly smell.

[C]Mmmm- Mmmm- Mmmm...

My Oh [F]My...

[G]Some days she stinks so bad it makes me [G7]cry.

But I wouldn't trade D-O-G, I'd rather [C]die.

[C]Last week I took D-O-G out for a short car ride.

To the [G7]countryside.

So she could run [C]far and wide.

[C]Ten miles out there weren't no doubt she passed some gas.

And like a [G7]snake in the grass.

It snuck [C]up en-mass.

I [F]fought to roll my window down,

I [C]surely thought that I would drown.

[C]Evoking I was choking on that [G7]most ungodly smell.

[C]Mmmm- Mmmm- Mmmm.

My Oh [F]My.

[G]Some days she stinks so bad it makes me [G7]cry.

But I wouldn't trade D-O-G, I'd rather [C]die.

[F]My oh [G]my D-[C]O-G.

Your [F]pickled butt has [G]crippled many good [C]men.

Don't [F]cry-y-[G]y D-[C]O-G. [Am]

I [G]know you can tell.

On the days I smell.[G7] .....Fart-Fart-Fart

[C]At Christmas my whole family came for the holiday.

On my [G7]knees I'd pray.

D-O-G don't [C]stink today.

[C]Sure enough with the turkey stuffed and the table trimmed.

She [G7]passed some wind.

Poor Aunt [C]Pat got pinned.

[F]In my mind there was no doubt.

[C]I thought she surely would pass out.

[C]Her heartbeat grew, her face went blue from that [G7]most ungodly smell.

[C]Mmmm- Mmmm- Mmmm.

My Oh [F]My.

[G]D-O-G stinks so bad it makes me [G7]cry.

But I wouldn't trade D-O-G, I'd rather [C]die.

[G]Some days she stinks so bad it makes me [G7]cry.

But I wouldn't trade D-O-G, I'd rather [C]die. [F] [C] [G7] [C]
