Hi Old doll, I LOVE apple pie, I'm off to the travel agent to get a plane ticket, ps, keep the calories in the cream, after all, their is a limit to how healthy we need to be. I think this new tea drinkers blue page layout is quite cool.
pps - can't you send us some of your rain, we are melting over here, with terrible fires raging all over
ppps - after reading your post I wrote a poem/song about tea, but it is still in my longhand scrawl - not yet typed up.

Hi Alan, that could possibly be the old song about ''Buy me a Chevrolet'', I can't recall the name, maybe you could do an updated version with a new twist-lol.
Hi henry, You never can be too sure, a few hundred years ago I might have been one of the innovators who decided to buck the trend. Just some ''vegetables'' for thought.--lol

THE VEGGIE BUVVY 19-02-09
I AM A VEGETARIAN
PROUD AND TRUE
I WILL NEVER EAT MEAT
HOW DOES THAT SOUND TO YOU
FRIED EGGS WILL NEVER SEE MY PLATE
SO DON’T INVITE ME TO DINNER
OR I WILL BE LATE
NO FISH WILL ADORN MY TABLE
AS LONG AS I AM ABLE
TO CHOOSE BETWEEN RIGHT AND WRONG
WHEN I SEE MEAT
I WILL NEVER BURST INTO SONG
SO IF I AM TO ROAM
AMONGST SCOTTISH HEATHER
I HAD BETTER REMEMBER
THE VERY COLD WEATHER
AND TAKE A FLASK OF HOT TEA
TO BE SHARED
BETWEEN KEN AND ME
LET’S GO BACK A FEW HUNDRED YEARS
THE AMOUNT OF ANIMALS
ON OUR PLANET
WAS SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL
TO BE ADMIRED AND SEEN
BY ALL AND SUNDRY
EVEN KINGS AND QUEENS
MAHARAJAS’ TOO
UNTIL SENSELESS MAN
DECIDED TO REDUCE THEM ALL
TO ONLY A VERY FEW
NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT
GIVE UP OUR BARBARIC WAYS
LETS’ LEAVE THE ANIMALS IN THE FIELDS
WHERE ALL THEY WANT TO DO
IS STROLL AROUND AND GRAZE

Hi Doc, you say that the devastation going on in the Middle East is not ''human'', it is only the so called ''human'' race that kills, maims, murders and violates for financial or personal gain. In the animal kingdom animals only kill to survive, and then go back to living in harmony. If only the powers that be would listen more intently to nature, then maybe we could all live in harmony - the way it should be. My poem is meant to reflect the utter madness and futility of war as it is always the innocents who suffer. But thankx for taking the time to comment.

Hey Wlbaye, I was 21 when this went down - can you imagine how the cop felt when he was told to go and stop the BEATLES from performing their very LAST public performance. As for the bankers - if they had rather listened to the music the worlds' finances might be in better shape to-day lol - just a thought. Aren't memories wonderful.

TV PRIEST BUVVY 07-12-08
This is not against any particular religion but it is against against the religious fanatics of the world, specially the tv ''wonders'' who are only too happy to take the ''flocks'' hard earned money.
RELIGIOUS MAN
PART OF THE HIPPOCRITICAL CLAN
SMILING, LYING WEASEL CRYING
GIVE GIVE GIVE – ALL THAT YOU CAN
LOTS OF MONEY – PLATES OF GOLD
HIPPOCRITICAL PRIEST WILL NEVER GROW OLD
SEE MY TV SMILE
I JUST LOVE MY BEGUILE
TO THE STUPID MASSES
OF THE CRASSLESS TV PRIEST
CASSOCK FLYING, SMILING WHILE LYING
THAT EASY TV MAN
OF THE HIPPOCRITICAL CLAN
GROWING OLD, DAYS OF GOLD
MY TV KEEPS ON LYING
TO THE SENSELESS MASSES
LYING AT THE FEET OF MONEY AND GOLD
TV PRIEST KEEP ON SIGHING
WHY PRAY FOR THE DEAD AND DYING
I LOVE MY GOLD
I’LL NEVER GROW OLD
WHY PRAY FOR THE DEAD AND DYING
SO KEEP ON GIVING
WHILE MY PLATE IS RECEIVING
I LOVE MY CHURCH
I LOVE MY GOLD
THIS TV PRIEST IS ALWAYS READY
TO SELL HIS SOUL
FOR MORE MONEY AND GOLD
KEEP THE PLATE SPINNING
KEEP THE NOTES FLYING
SMALL COINS ARE NO GOOD
TO KEEP MY SOUL FROM SIGHING
JUST ALWAYS REMEMBER
I’LL NEVER PRAY FOR THE DEAD AND DYING
AMEN - RIP

CANNED HUNTING BUVVY 16-01-09
This poem is about one of the most barbaric and disgusting practises allowed in our country - all in the name of money.
YOU PATHETIC LITTLE MAN
SHOOTING THRU’ A CAN
KILLING KILLING AND KILLING
EVERY LION THAT YOU CAN
YOUR MIND IS SMALL
YOUR SPIRIT IS WEAK
EVERY TIME YOU PULL THE TRIGGER
MANKIND FEELS THE LOSS
OF ANOTHER LION IN THE CAN
GREAT BIG GUN
GREAT BIG MAN
RELEASE THE LION FROM HIS CAN
LEAVE THE TRIGGER OF THE GUN
LEAVE THE LION
TO HIS RIGHTFUL LIFE IN THE SUN
HUNTING PARTY OF FIVE
WON’T LEAVE ANY LION ALIVE
IT IS SUCH FUN
FOR ALL OF US FIVE
TO NEVER LEAVE ANY LION ALIVE
LOOK THRU’ THE SCOPE
FOR THE LION – THERE IS NO HOPE
TIED TO A TREE
BEHIND A FENCE
WHERE HIS POWERS OF DEFENCE
ARE USELESS AGAINST YOU AND ME
SO SHOW SOME COMPASSION
DISCARD YOUR GUN
AND LEAVE GOD’S LIONS
FOR MEN, CHILDREN AND EVERYONE
THROW AWAY YOUR GUNS
PULL DOWN THE FENCES
THROW AWAY YOUR ROPE
FOR A LION
CANNED HUNTING
IS ANYTHING BUT A JOKE
BUT REMEMBER THE WRATH
OF THE ANIMALS’ GUARDIAN
WHO SEES IT ALL
AND FEELS THEIR PAIN
WHEN YOUR TIME COMES
THEY WILL MAKE SURE
YOUR PAIN IS THE SAME
SO LEAVE THE LIONS WHERE THEY ARE
THE SPIRITS’ REVENGE
WILL COME FROM AFAR
TO LET YOU SHARE
THE LIONS PAIN AND DESPAIR

Some of you old pensioners make me feel like a sprog again - lets see - I was born in 1947, so that should make me a measly 61 and if my memory department is still working I should be 62 on the 2nd of June, I still love rock and roll, specially the 60's , but sadly my guitar playing fan base consists only of my 8 dogs.

Is it my imagination that happy poems seem to elicit no response - when one considers the acrimonious start to the poem section I seem to think that the start has been rather slow - maybe it's the holidays. I wrote this poem after watching the news this evening - it is supposed to be a new year - but is it really?
GAZA BUVVY 04-01-09
PALESTINE TURNS THE SCREWS
THE ISRAELIS’ SAY
DON’T BOMB THE JEWS
WE WILL FIGHT BACK
YOU WILL NEVER BREAK OUR BACK
TANKS AND PLANES
ARE IN OUR ARMORY
THEY ARE NOT FOR PLAYING GAMES
GUNS AND MISSILES
BOMBS FROM OUR PLANES
NEVER AGAIN,
WILL ISRAEL PLAY GAMES
DON’T FIRE YOUR ROCKETS
NEW YORK IS IN OUR POCKETS
THEY HAVE THE MONEY
WE HAVE THE POWER
ISRAELI SAND
HAS DEVASTATING FIRE POWER
MADNESS REIGNS
FROM BOTH SIDES PLANES
WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE KILLED
WHILE OUTSIDE PLAYING GAMES
IS THIS FAIR – BOTH SIDES DECLARE
WE DON’T KNOW WHO WANTS THIS WAR
BOTH SIDES CAN NEVER EVEN THE SCORE
OLD AND YOUNG, MIGHTY AND WEAK
SLAUGHTERING PEOPLE LIKE INNOCENT SHEEP
BLOOD OF THE LAMB
DEATH IS IN A CAN
GOD ALMIGHTY SAYS
GIVE BACK MY LAMB
YOU PEOPLE ARE CRAZY
I’D EVEN SAY MAD
WHAT ALL OF YOU ARE DOING
IS MAKING ME SAD
SO SLOW DOWN YOUR GUNS
HARNESS YOUR BOMBS
B OTH SIDES NEED TO SIT DOWN AND TALK
WITH GREAT APLOMB
LET PEACE BE DECLARED
LET SANITY REIGN
LETS’ ALL SHARE DESERT SAND
AND END ALL PAIN
LET PEACE RETURN TO ALL MY LAND
PAVED, ASPHALT
OR JUST DESERT SAND.

This is the last in a trilogy of cheerful new year poems. Wouldn't it be great if the whole of this year [and forever more] could always be sunny and cheerful.
ANOTHER NEW YEAR BUVVY 01-01-09
A NEW YEAR HAS BEGUN
THE FIRST DAY HAS DAWNED
THE SUN IS SHINING HIGH
THE SKY IS ADORNED
THE MOOD IS BRIGHT AND CHEERFUL
THE PEOPLE WON’T BE FEARFUL
LETS’ NOT TALK OF GLOOM AND DOOM
RATHER FOCUS ON GRAN’S HEIRLOOM
CHERISH THE THOUGHT
THAT ALL CRIME SHALL COME TO NOUGHT
CRIME SHALL STAY AWAY
NEVER MIND ON ANOTHER DAY
BIRDS COME TO OUR GARDEN TO SING
SWAMBO RANG THEIR BELL
DING DING DING A’LING
THEIR BOWLS ARE FULL OF SEED
THEIR WATERS’ IN THE TROUGHS
LITTLE BIRDY FEET
STOMPED ALL OVER GREEN GRASS
SWIMMING IN OUR POOL
HOW WE LOVE – TO PLAY THE FOOL
SO IF THIS POEM OFFENDS
BY ITS’ SUNNY NATURE
TAKE IT BY THE TAIL
AND COMPARE IT TO THE HOLY GRAIL
WE WON’T BE PUSHED AROUND
I HAVE A HUGE HI-FI
WITH A MASSIVE SENS-SURROUND
LET’S HAVE NO TALK OF WAR
LET’S HAVE NO MISABUSED POWER
THIS LOVELY YEAR
WILL OPEN LIKE A FLOWER

Being the first day of the new year calls for happy vibes and thoughts so the following words came to mind.
NEW YEARS DAY BUVVY 01-01-2009
A NEW YEAR DAWNS
THE FIRST DAY BEGINS
MAYBE MAN WILL FORGET HIS CRAZY SINS
THE DAY DAWNS BRIGHT AND BLUE
LETS NOT FORGET
AFRICA – WE LOVE YOU
THE SUN IS HIGH
IN AN AFRICAN SKY
IT IS TIME FOR ALL MEN TO CRY
LETS’ START AFRESH
OR AT LEAST ANEW
BECAUSE MANKIND
THE ESOTERIC SPIRITS
HAVE GREAT LOVE FOR YOU
GOD HAS NO NAME
TO THE NATURAL SPIRITS
IT IS ALL THE SAME
ONLY MAN MUST LABEL
THE CRAZY RELIGIONS
COMING FROM ONLY ONE STABLE
ESOTERIC CALLING
MEN FROM UP HIGH
JUST KEEP ON FALLING
LET THE YEAR ROLL ON
FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW
IT IS NEVER TOO LONG
BLUE SKIES REIGN
OVER A VAST AFRICAN PLAIN
SUNNY AND BRIGHT
IN EVERY DAY
WE TAKE GREAT DELIGHT
LETS’ ALL CALL FOR PEACE
LETS’ ALL CALL FOR LAUGHTER
LETS’ ALL RAISE OUR VOICES
AND DEMAND AN END TO SLAUGHTER
THE TIME HAS COME
SAID MANY MEN
FOR PEACEFUL TIMES
TO REIGN AGAIN

Aiden is the two year old son of friends of ours' who spent new years' eve and day with us. I penned these words purely as a poem to him as he was having the time of his life playing in the swimming pool with his dad Greg. If anyone feels that they have chords that they would like to fit - please feel free.
AIDEN Buvvy 01/01/2009
SMALL & SHORT, NOT TOO STOUT
CURLY BLOND HAIR ABOVE HIS SNOUT
AIDEN THE MAN
THE NEWBORN OF THE LOCKIE CLAN
NOT IN SCHOOL
DON’T BE A FOOL
HE IS WAY TOO COOL
ALSO FAR TOO YOUNG
TO CARRY A GUN
MAYBE A PLASTIC ONE - JUST FOR FUN
LIFE AT THE MOMENT
TAKES UP HIS TIME
OF SLEEPING, EATING & STAYING FINE
DOES HE SCREAM
SOME OF THE TIME
CAN HE SHOUT
BELIEVE ME, THERE IS NO DOUBT
EATING, SLEEPING, DRINKING TOO
I JUST HOPE YOU NEVER TAKE HIM TO A ZOO
PUT HIM IN THE POOL
POOR DAD, HE THINKS YOU’RE A FOOL
LITTLE BOAT, FULL OF AIR
AS LONG AS HE DOESN’T WET HIS HAIR
WILL HE SINK
NOT REALLY WE THINK
LOTS OF FUN
THE FIRST OF JANUARY
LET’S TELL EVERYONE
HOW I ENJOYED A DAY IN THE POOL
AND DAD - I DON’T THINK YOU’RE A FOOL
I ACTUALLY THINK YOU’RE VERY COOL

Re: RAP (16 replies, posted in Poems)
NO. Poetry is written in the main by more or less ''normal'' people [this also depends on your definition of normal]. RAP is espoused by dyslexic midgets who all seem to shop in the extra giant size clothing stores and whose arms and fingers seem to be operated by remote control.
